Love this pub. Constantly great beers on cask and keg, regular low/no alcohol option on keg too. Fantastic and friendly staff 👌Always a great can selection to take out. Regular nights include Drink and Draw, themed food, quiz night, comedy night, cheese and biscuits, darts. The list goes on!

Not really a fan of this pub but decided to call in as I was in the neighbourhood. It looks popular but not my cup of tea. Bar stools in ranks across the bar & nobody keen on moving out of the way. Had a quick beer which was a pleasant & well kept pint.

Top draw 0ld pub with Beer Festival excellent plus. Happy Days. Highly Recommended. Revisit excellent choice of real ales. Bottle & can list brilliant. Highly Recommended

I was disappointed they didn't make waffles but pizza with a waffle looking machine, but they got a pass. Service nice, good selection of beers.

Stopped by on Vegan night. Outstanding food. Savory snd spice without being too strong. Tapas style. Good size portions. Ordered 4 dishes for 18gbp and it was too much for two of us to finish. Definitely will be back. Had a bit of the Shiny Stout with dinner and it was a good fit.

Didn't eat there, so can't comment, but there's a great range of beers and a good vibe. Great for a prematch drink before getting the bus to the ground.

Rate my ribena by Y aged 7: it was perfectly sweet, quite cold, too little ice, although I didn't want any. My 2nd ribena had just the right amount of ice.

Tuesday 9th January 2024 Today we bumped across the great Derby brew pub, which incorporates SHINY BREWERY BEERS as well as good local ales plenty of gtreat hand pumped obscure beers Great local feel to place the bar staff today. Iwere really good all in all this pub for real ale drinkers is a essential visit to come when in Derby to drink a good pint of real ale

Great little pub, looks child friendly but we popped in after Christmas shopping so was child free. Nice selection of beers. Pork pies are very good.

One of the best pubs on the planet. Their beer selection and at reasonable prices, beats any other pub I’ve been to, ever. And get a cheese and onion cob with your beer… I was like “U wot mate!” But once you’ve tried it you’ll never think twice.

Not a regular but go once a month for family get together. Used to go back in late 70s.Excellent beer choice and great atmosphere on Sat afternoons. Bar service with characters...Nice bar snacks.

Great local pub with friendly feel

The Sunday set was very good - traditional English Sunday lunch. The Yorkshire pudding burger was unfortunately dry inside, with no vegetables or sauce added.

Beer selection was fantastic, very friendly staff.

Had my first visit last night and was very pleasantly surprised. I visited with two mates for the pub's beer festival. There was great range of ale, the staff were friendly and welcoming and the atmosphere was relaxing and safe. The only thing that needs a bit of improvement is the toilets.

If you remember this being an old fashioned, slightly outdated pub think again, It's undergone a big change for the better in my opinion. Refurbished with a brighter more contemporary feel, it's still a traditional pub not a ultra modern bar, it has a similar feeling to Port Street Beer House in Manchester. It also has a nice beer garden, although be warned it can get insanely hot in the summer. They still have a good selection of cask beers; however, they have an emphasis on craft cans/bottles and keg. They probably have the best range of UK brewed craft beer in Derby with some seriously good beers on every single time. The range of cans is excellent with some limited editions and special releases in stock. They also have a wide variety of non beer drinks and non alcoholic drinks. Worth keeping an eye out for events happening, regular tap takeovers from the likes of Buxton, Northern Monk & Cloudwater etc, meet the brewer, Wednesday cheese night, open Mic, quizzes,and food nights, not forgetting beer festivals including the Spring bank holiday festival with food, live music and a massive range of cask beer....it's a yearly highlight to be honest. 12" fresh cooked pizza is available for around £9, Pepperoni, Margarita, and a couple of specials, as are cobs, pork pies, scotch eggs, crisps, peanuts, sweets etc. All the staff are friendly, as are the customers, it's also dog and child friendly especially on a lazy Sunday afternoon.

I took a relative (who had left Derby some time ago) on a mini pub crawl of Derby. We called in here and I was thoroughly impressed! The beer menu on the table was absolutely incredible and totally unexpected. Bass and a nice 3.8% pale are my usual choices, but with so many UK and European beers on offer I had to have a few bottles of something different. The pub itself is welcoming, the staff were friendly and it gave us all the vibes of a "proper suburban pub".

Great Real Ale Pub literally 10 mins walk from the City Centre by the River Derwent. The Owners, staff and locals all very welcoming. Nice range of beers and ciders at decent prices, definitely worth a visit if in Derby.

Best pub in derby! the greatest beer selection going rhats constantly changing 20+ pumps plus fridges full of cans and ciders.

Regular stop over on way in or out of Derby. 2 o'clock opening is a bit odd but apart from that great place, great beers and usually great cider selection but bit limited of late. Too many fruit ciders. But that is just a taste thing. Does a couple of cracking beer festivals every year with well selected range. Love it.

Always a great atmosphere and range of beer and cider. Plenty of choice of gin too. Each week they have different activities on and recently added a food night every Wednesday unless it's quiz night. They have beer festivals & the dark and light beer festival in November is worth going to.

Cosy environment, with a selection of great beers and ales if that's what you enjoy. If you like carling.... Stay away. You're not welcome. Staff can be slightly violent at time. Particularly the weird small guy with glasses and a limp and the Croatian assistant manager! X

Stopped in on a Saturday afternoon, great selection of ales, friendly staff, good music

We ordered a pint and went outside to have a smoke and was chatting with a woman then she turned around and made a comment which offended my friend so my friend made a joking comment back. We then stayed chatting with her calmly then she went inside, 5-10minutes later the man behind the bar came out and told us we had to leave due to the comment my friend had made without even asking us what had happened.

Very welcoming pub. Always lots going on in this pub. Great hosting of the boxing day charity run.

Went Friday night at 8pm but could not find a seat - it was packed. But some people changed seats and others closed up to make room for us. Great pub, great beer and the most friendly clientele.

Selection of beer is one of the best in Derby, craft and traditional alike. The sea of dirty glasses I had to wade through to get a clean table is the only reason it's not a 5*, wish the place was just a touch cleaner.

Nice new coat of paint, bit of good ole fashion bar snap on the bar for you to help yersen to and friendly staff. Add to that a well thought out assortment of Ales and.crafts and you can see why ale drinkers are starting to travel here for a pint.

Came in with 3 kids aged 5 2 and 1 the youngest screaming his head off and made to feel welcome and the staff were super helpful with the kids especially while I sorted the Youngest out. Also amazing selection of beer, LEGO and massive beer garden. Next to darley park and town. Perfect pitstop pub I hope to spend more time in (hopefully to enjoy the beers rather than deal with toddlers lol thanks again to the staff!)

The Furnace is a great pub, 15 minute walk from Derby city centre with fantastic staff, great clientele and a good selection of drinks. They host different themes nights (cheese night, pub quiz night etc) have pretty tasty pizza and pork pies. Looking forward to my next visit!

My favourite pub in Derby due to its selection of real ales and craft beers. When it comes to IPA's The Furnace is the MVP.

Always a good selection of beers and friendly service, well worth seeking out. The beer garden has comfortable seating made from pallets and there are a number of family board games that are available for free by customers. Do not miss out on a great venue.

If you've never been before you may be intimidated by the location, but it's well worth a visit for a great selection of cask and keg beers.

First class pub. Old school with plenty of beer choice both draft and canned/bottled. Well worth a visit. Relax and drink. Good prices and a very impressive range. Also shows major sporting events on a big screen. They have some food also offering rolls, pork pies and freshly made pizza.
