The best restaurants in East Midlands

I’ve had a great experience each time I have been in this pub. Myself and my little dog are welcomed by the friendly staff, the roast cobs on a Sunday are fresh and a super price, and the atmosphere has always been relaxed. The fire makes it feel cosy and the locals are a good crack. Keep up the good work here guys!

Me encantó este lugar, pero parece que está cerrado. Triste noticia. Siempre me encantó sus maravillosos desayunos cocinados, aparentemente la ensalada era bueno también, pero nunca tuvo uno personalmente.

1st time visiting Soi but it certainly won’t be the last. Everything about our experience was exceptional. The service and attention to our table was fantastic. The food was off the chart. I had the Tawa fish and can safely say I’ve found my new “go to” meal. Thank you to everyone that looked after us. Looking forward to going back very soon.

Absolutely gutted that Jamie Lee and team are leaving, I had my 30th birthday party here and just wow! Everyone raved about the food and it has always been a favourite eatery of mine. The next tenants have big shoes to fill...

I went for a sundae, and I had a sundae. I had the salted caramel sundae with caramel brownie nuggets, salted caramel sauce, and a ùgenerous serving of ice cream and whipped cream ..omg.. it doesn't need to be good on service, it doesn't need atmosphere, it doesn't matter that everything else is w**k - the sweets are heaven. ***UPDATE***I paid another visit today, and despite a tasteful refurb, I'm afraid my scores have had to drop. I ordered a sausage & bacon roll with a large americano - I got a bacon roll with a large americano. Getting your order right has got to be number 1 .. Right? BUT there is definitely hope for this place - the management has got the right attitude, and with some proper training, the staff could 'do the place proud'. The bacon roll that I did get, which formed a part of my £8.15 bill, was small. I did enjoy how they'd presented it tho'. The roll had been slightly burned, and the sweet bacon was yummy - the coffee too was a delightful accompaniment. If it had been what I ordered, then this would have been a much better review. I feel bad about slicing a star off of their overall score and a star off the food score.. but it's noticeable that 'service' has remained at 2 stars or 'poor' - regular training would probably stir that up. Maybe organise staff training before ordering those soft chairs? I did notice, however, on a positive note that the atmosphere in the place had finally made it onto the runway - and gone up a star! Every table at some point during my visit had been occupied, and upon leaving, everybody got a resounding "cheerio" from the manager! Each table was talking about something different, and the patrons struck me as all being regulars - all good stuff. So, not a landslide victory by any means .. but not a failure either. Watch out, chaps! I will be back!

Wouldn’t order again. The food temperature was lukewarm, the chicken tikka Massala is from out of space very grainy and some weird red color. Not traditionally tasting too. Naan bread was very doughy and not cooked. Awful

A quaint pub, but need to educate some staff on daily product's, as asked a couple of questions about the menu and the lad had to keep going to find out but apart from that the food was really nice
