Reopened following bereavement (Nov '23), Kegworth's tucked-round-the-back traditional old-fashioned pub. Cask ales at time of visit: Taylor's'"Landlord" , Marston's "Pedigree" and Castle Rock's "Harvest Pale".

Rang before we went to enquire if food was being served they told us yes,when we arrived we were told chef had gone shopping for food and would be 20 mins 45mins later still not back, so we left surely you should get food in morning not when service has started at 6.30pm

Lovely old traditional pub. Lots of very original features and proper beers

We went in and it was 5 minutes before we had 4 staring at us making comments about our looks and weight. Which is a shame really its now our closest pub and we feel we can’t go back. Prices are decent and the young lady on the bar was nice enough though

What a shame this pub isn't as good as it used to be . Garden needs a very good overhaul.

Nice pub for the Thursday quiz at 8pm

A very pleasant traditional village pub, with friendly locals, helpful staff and quality beers served in good condition in a clean and comfortable environment.

Went down for the quiz. Realised we know less than we thought. But enjoyed it none the less! Great friendly staff. Dogs welcome. What more could you want 🐾❤️🍻

Brilliant, family friendly local pub serving homemade food and great local beer. Dogs and children are also welcomed and their beer garden is very social and always well kept. Well worth a visit.

spot on home cooked meals,great value and good beer

This pub is 'the heart' the village..the customers are just so friendly..its such a traditional pub..but they need to stop staff using their phones behind the bar, and pay more attention to the customer,and the cleanliness, and the ambiance of 'this' pub and its history.

Not recommended for non locals or new drinkers, I found it difficult to get to the bar as locals just didn't make a way for me, a customer with a big dog never even tried to allow me in. The barmen served me through a squeeze, the pub wasn't even full!. Pub management need to make visitors and new drinkers more welcome and not allow a group to block the bar. Could do better. go else where.

Just brilliant. We went on our first date here today 'cos it was kinda inbetween where be both live and had one of the funniest days ever. I don't think that we can consider it a local given that we live 80 miles the other way but this will absolutely be our meeting point forevermore. The locals are amazing, as is the beef roast. Thank you all, just ace to find somewhere so fantastic unexpectedly.

Great ... proper ... pub. Doombar was delicious. Lovely welcoming staff. Great food, can highly recommend the halloumi burger at £5 ish. Pensioners specials, apparently the beef bouginoune was delicious. Worth a visit.

Never been in before but would go again. Up to speed on the Covid front ensuring all checked in on arrival. Decent beer, lovely sun trap of a beer garden too. Nice!

Great local pub, with lots of character, friendly staff, good beer including Bass from the jug and a good menu of food. Lots of work in recent months done on making the large garden area into a cosy and safe eating environment. Highly recommended!

We go to the cap often for dinner and drinks, every time we go it is absolutely brilliant. The Sunday dinner is amazing, cauliflower/brocoli cheese to die for 😍😍

1st visit for ages and I felt very safe. Well organisation and the staff were brilliant.

Good pub garden with basic food

Felt very safe in our own bubble at the table. Everyone following the guidelines correctly. Ordered 2 childrens meals and they was lovely and served quickly will be back :)

Great pub with decent selection of ales, hearty home cooked food at very reasonable prices, and a large, multi-level garden with plenty of seating. Has an online ordering system and table service.

Scotch eggs are amazing and the staff are very friendly

Decent pub hidden away in kegworth, nice atmosphere, cheap but surpassingly nice food options and the "home"made scotch eggs are a highlight.

Food is simple but lovely, landlady and staff very welcoming and the in house dog "chunk" will bring you his ball to play with endlessly. 😁

Called in for lunch on the off chance, as our family was close by on the river in a narrow boat. The food was exceptionally good and the prices very reasonable. The Doom Bar ale was well kept, just as it should be. Allowed us to take the dog in which is rare these days, and gave us water for her. The pub reminded me of the Rovers Return in Coronation Street, back when Annie Walker was the proprieter. Quaint and old fashioned, but very cosy. There is nothing negative that can be said about this place. We all enjoyed our meals, and the staff were both polite and really welcoming. If we are in the area again, we will be calling for more of the hot chilli with extra Tabasco, (to taste). It was fabulous. Thank you

Great traditional pub tucked away between the streets in Kegworth. Good selection of beer, great food and all at a very reasonable price. A true community pub that will welcome all and entertains through hosting multiple events on a regular basis. Best in Kegworth.

This was like walking backwards in time, what a delightful ale house, the Bass is still brought from the cellar in a jug. Will certainly go back for more.

Hi, I come here couple of times a month to get out the office, I love some me time and during lunchtimes it not too busy, but the bar staff is always welcoming and Louise the owner is attentive and polite, she knows the regulars and treats them as family. The food menu is brilliant, good old fashion home made pub grub, prices are good also, ale on tap, and a friendly dog around it's brilliant retreat and good music and atmosphere, traditional English pub.

First time here. The staff were extremely friendly and very helpful. The food was excellent and the portions were more than generous.

Place certainly has a bit of a charm but it's very small.

Great, local pub with large drinks selection including craft ales and premium gins. Unfussy pub meals and bar snacks and delicious homemade puddings. Vegan, veggy and gluten free diets catered for. Friendly, welcoming staff and a lovely garden with lots of sun. Highly recommend.

A friendly local pub. There is a good selection of beers and bar snacks are available. The indoor areas are comfortable and cosy with a nice beer garden for warmer weather. It can get a bit busy and noisy at weekends.
