The best restaurants in East Midlands

We tried this chippy probably a year or so ago and found it very good, the size of the fish was enormous and the chips were very nice too, we rotate on takeaways every 4 weeks or so. A couple of months ago it was chippy night and found the batter on the end of the fish so hard couldn`t cut it with a knife , the chips were just as bad, so we gave the chippy a break anyway we decided to try them again last night, needless to say we were still as disappointed.....thin batter (overcooked) hard underneath and the chips were thin dried up sticks. Very disappointed and wont be returning.

Had an amazing experience, the quality of the food was excellent and the staff was very friendly. I would definitely recommends to everyone who is conscious about quality.

It was a great pub with a quiet atmosphere around it, The food and service were amazing, and the food had just served like a proper restaurant would.

A must try restaurant in Leicester Belgrave road. Authentic Desi Biryani... Perfectly spiced and cooked. The chicken sides were highlights..

Tried a sausage, egg n cheese omelette cob delicious and the luxury hot chocolate most excellent.

Fast and friendly service, decent portions, and a great kebab: fresh salad, good chilli sauce, plenty of meat. Will return!

Sanchan’s is the best local Thai restaurant in Beeston, hands down. The prices are reasonable, and I've been a loyal customer for years, also frequenting their other establishment, Sukho Thai. John and his family are always friendly and welcoming, making every visit enjoyable. The food is simply amazing—my favorites are the pad gra prow and jungle curry. The dishes are authentic, healthy, and there's such a variety that you’ll never get bored. Highly recommended!

Great local pub. Good choice of beers and wine. Grand food that is clearly freshly cooked to order.

We popped in on Saturday to see if they do a gluten free Sunday lunch. After a moments thought, Simon said yes and the Sunday lunch he prepared was delicious, will definitely be going back.

Popped in to the cafe after a long walk along the old railway not knowing what to expect. It was a very good move. Both the coffee and the hot chocolate were excellent. We ordered chocolate banana bread, millionaire's shortcake and a fruit granola bar slice. All were delicious. I would really like to get my hands on the recipe for the granola bar cake!!!! It was excellent. Thank you to the hardworking staff.

Friendly, welcoming pub also allows dogs. Good lunch menu. Vegetarian option very tasty and filling. Varied menu. Plenty of real ales to choose. Would definitely recommend this pub.

I highly recommend this restaurant to everyone and will definitely be returning! The service was outstanding, with friendly staff who made me feel welcome from the moment I walked in. The food was exceptional, especially since I’ve been craving a good home-cooked curry for ages. The owner even took the time to check in and make sure everything was perfect, which it certainly was. A truly lovely place!

One of the best live venue's in the area to go and watch bands.. Plus there's different events happening over the entire year...well worth looking up the itinerary for forthcoming events and updates... Occasionally there's a festival of music over the entire weekend ... I've been here lots of times and stayed over in the car park in my camper... Very friendly staff and a great selection of real ales to enjoy ... Well worth a visit... Most highly recommended ... Believe me you will not be disappointed ...
