The best restaurants in East Midlands

Since discovering Steve's bar, I haven't felt the need to go into Nottingham anymore, as I currently feel quite unsafe there. The atmosphere is wonderful, the staff are incredibly hardworking, and the entertainment is fantastic, especially considering there are no other pubs in Mapperly Top with discos or live music. The drinks are reasonably priced and offer a good selection. I haven't personally tried the food, so I can't comment, but I've heard good things from family members. Like any pub, there might be the occasional disruptive customer, but the staff quickly address any issues. You go in as a customer and quickly become a regular. Both Steve and Andrew are wonderful people who make you feel very welcome.

I ordered a pizza with aubergines, mushrooms, and extra mozzarella, instead I received a pizza with courgettes and red peppers and no extra mozzarella.

The worst customer service in London Road. Would not recommend it.

We pre booked the Christmas menu meal for a family dinner meet up of 6 adults and 2 little ones And wasn’t disappointed the service was spot on and the food was delicious highly recommend and amazing Christmasy setting with all the decorations up many thanks Andrew Burt and family

So this morning I went to get a sausage cob I felt the lady serving took an instant dislike (menopausal possibly) as when I asked for a little bit of stuffing she proceeded to put the whole serving in and when I repeated what I said she forked it in half and left the half in one quarted otmf the cob and then covered it in apple sauce at that point I walked out as she asked what she had done, I told her if you can't spread stuffing along the cob instead of in one spot on not interested and left the shop never to return,

We got a takeaway from here on Friday night with all the family, we had a mixture of cod, chicken and mushroom pie, chicken nuggets, sausage and chips and all of course a chip shop curry sauce! The service was good but it gets very busy very fast. After you have ordered you get a fob that buzzes once your food is ready. It is a very good idea as you can wait outside so it doesn’t get too crowded. The food was 10/10 and well priced. Highly recommend if you are wanting a chippy tea!🍟

We drove out to get this, and well worth the trip. Highly recommend if you’re looking for a decent Chinese in the area.

Best bakery around… genuinely much prefer here to any of the so called bigger shops/bakery’s. Cobs are freshly made with a massive variety of fillings and packed full! Including breakfast options, proper sausages and thick cut bacon. Stapled on favourite cakes plus weekly specials, my new favourites are the cookie pies! I highly recommend.

You will receive the warmest welcome from Debbie and Yan. Super friendly, lovely events, dog friendly, beautiful garden. A must visit!

The fish and chips were terrible they tasted like they had been cooked in old oil. Plus they forgot to put in the curry sauce. We ended up throwing them away and eating cheese and biscuits.

An absolutely spotless cafe with huge warm welcome. Faultless service and great coffee. All staff are friendly and so obviously want customers to enjoy the cafe.

The best restaurant I have been to - I thoroughly enjoyed my stay. The portions are massive and really tasty. The service was really quick and the staff were very welcoming.
