Magic Chef Chinese Takeaway in Wellingborough

I got one of the two-person set menus. At first I thought a bit on the pricey side but everything is nowadays. Then my order came. Huge. Easily enough for three people. Also, delicious. I highly recommend. Everything was nice but I was particularly impressed by the sesame prawn toast. Side-note: Nice glass cabinet of figurine houses and colourful gold fish.

I recently had the pleasure of enjoying a delightful Chinese takeaway from this gem conveniently close to home. From the first bite, it was evident that this place takes pride in delivering not only generous portions but also an explosion of flavors that left my taste buds thoroughly satisfied.

I drive 12 miles to try this chinese takeaway to see if it's good. And it turns out to be amazing in everything. The lady which is the owner is very friendly and generous. The price for the food is very reasonable and the portion is huge. And the ingredients of food taste so fresh and the taste of the dishes is very delicious and very authentic chinese food. Also the shop is very clean, big and has beautiful oriental decoration. I would definitely come back to have another tries. Its such a nice family-rum business.

Been going here now for years. By far the best tasting Chinese takeaway around. Quantity and quality is always guaranteed!! Would not even waste my time going elsewhere.

The best takeaway I have had. As I live in Northampton I wait till I go to Rushden Lakes and collect on the way home. They have the best pancake / spring rolls. Keep up the good standard.

My family and i have recently moved from a city full of takeaway options, moving here we wondered how the local takeaway would compare, well we are all in agreement that this place is by far the best we've ever had. Absolutely amazing food, Great portions (1/3 more than our old takeaway) and a really really warm reception when ever i phone and collect. SUPERB!!!

Irene has the best customer service, the portions are huge and the food is delicious! I love the satay sauce and mushroom curry. I wish they would make vegetarian dumplings and more vegetarian options (hint hint ;))

Foods good but high price compared to others. For example boiled rice is over £3 for a portion. Very cluttered inside - full of knick knacks which seem to be added to on a weekly basis. Friendly though.

Just moved into village and fancied a takeout, so Chinese was recommended to try . 1 portions were really good 2 taste was amazing Will be going back soon .

First of many visits today...... I have never been so impressed by a Chinese takeaway .... The food was great, properly cooked in a kitchen you can see into from the counter, and the portions are HUGE! Think of the large size plastic boxes most Chinese takeaways use these days and about double it! Very happy .....thank you to the team at Magic Chef 😊

Just moved to Wollaston and thought we would give this takeaway a try. So glad we did, I just wish someone would have told us how huge the portions are. Never mind takeaway two night running is no hardship. The mixed starter for two would have fed four as a starter, two as a main. The soups are double the size of ones I have had elsewhere. If you are looking for a good meal of fresh ingredients you wont have far to look, it's in Irchester!

Was a bit dubious that this takeaway was 4.9. Surely it can't be this good. Well yes it can what an awesome takeaway with a few unusual items in the menu. Massive portions. Can't fault it. Just a shame I live in Milton Keynes and this is 25 miles away. Looking forward to the next time I visit my mate and can have another take away.

Gorgeous food this evening, birthday treat, spring rolls, chicken and mushrooms, chicken curry, crispy beef, duck with ginger & spring onions, s&s chicken balls, 2 lots of rice,& prawn crackers, all for £40, fed 3 of us this evening, & there is enough left for at least another 2 people tomorrow if not 3. Enough rice to put with my salmon on Saturday.That is £8 per portion, cooked beautifully, piping hot, good sized portions, good value for money, & a £5 voucher off for next time.

We love this place. Ever since Magic Chef came to Irchester village, it has been a huge bonus. The service is impeccible, the food is fantastic, and it's great value for money. It's just wonderful to have a local chinese takeaway that is so incredibly good. Love it!

First time and will definitely use again. Irene the hostess, welcomed me in on a miserable, rainy Sunday evening with a beaming smile and bright chat. Once we established we weren't going to let the weather get us down, Irene took my order. The food arrived piping hot, very well packaged, down to the piece of cardboard in the bottom of the bag to keep everything stable. Every dish was delicious, my favourite was the vegetable stir fried rice, gorgeous. Michael that and the Mushrooms and garlic. Good sized portions, four dishes and loads left for another meal. Two hapoy, full and delighted customers. Thank you Irene and hubby chef.

Fantastic meal purchased tonight with friendly service too. If your looking for a Chinese Takeaway, don't pass this place by at all.

This place is amazing! Seriously the best Thai and Chinese food I have had in the area. The Thai Feast is so much food and I am always shocked by how good each item in the feast is. I expect with multiple course deals that one of the items will not be as good as the others. This is the first time that every single item that comes with the multiple course is just delicious. The ribs fall off the bone, the chicken appetizer is full of flavor, the soup is so good, and the main courses (green curry, basil chicken, and pineapple rice) are amazing. So good.This is one of my favorite things to eat. And the special fried rice can be eaten as a meal it has so much high quality meat in it. The staff are so friendly. It really makes it a joy to go here.

What a lovely place! Walked in and got welcomed a warm smile and offered free beers. The food was amazing, best chinese ive had in a while. Portion sizes are huge as well! Will be definitely be coming back :)

Went there last night for a chinese whilst at work. My god I wasnt expecting the portion size. It was amazing. The chinese balls had an explosion of flavour. The duck chow mein. Well! The best chinese iv had. The duck was immense. Good amount of duck aswell no fatty bits. A little bit of skin which is good for the saltiness and crunch. Fully deserving of a 5 star rating and they have gained a new customer. Exceptional 👏👏👏👏👏

called here tonight and I didnt realise they were closed as the lights were on and a lovely lady sat crashing up went to open the door and it was locked. the lady came to window and said sorry they were closed I said I was gutted I realy fancied some egg fried rice in which she replied I can do that for you no problem just wait here outside I replied thankyou.. up on attempting to pay she said no charge and I said no seriously I realy appreciate it and I went to give her my card she then said its cash only they have no card machine so I will be returning on saturday nite with the cash and to make another order. how nice and when you meet someone that generous it makes you want to use there business more. to the lady in the take away I thank you x apologies for the poor spelling and grammar..... update.. while sat outside writing this review shes just knocked on my van window and brought me a banana and some grapes to go with my meal. so to anyone close by looking at this take away I strongly recomend just because the owner is a realy decent human being and the foods good to x

Tried magic chef for for 1st time today.so friendly and the food is amazing.im very fussy with my takeaways but after reading good reviews i decided to try them and very glad I did.my new local takeaway.

I had a meal from Magic Chef last night. The menu was very comprehensive. The takeaway appeared clean & tidy. The food I’d ordered was ready in a timely manner. It was very tasty, good sized portions & delicious. I’ll certainly return there for my takeaways. My only criticism is that they don’t accept card payments which in this day & age is unusual.

Fairly fast service. Food was good, loads of chicken is the chicken curry and wasn't cold!. Only bad point was the rice ordered egg fryed rice but didnt seem very fryed to me.

Brilliant meal. First class and enough for tomorrow too. Full of meat. Couldn’t fault any of it.
