The best restaurants in St Mary's South Kesteven East Midlands

The cutest and extremely authentic Italian pizza restaurant, which we precooked and were glad we did, as inside, there are only a small number of tables. There were loads of locals sitting outside having their pizza and the atmosphere was really Mediterranean feeling. The waiting staff were really friendly and efficient. Loved the inside decor - especially the tiled tables! Best of all, our pizzas were so yummy! I had prosciutto & parmesan and I added extra Gorgonzola and it was all lovely and melted! Best pizza I’ve probably eaten. Will definitely be coming back.

A huge group of us went out to celebrate not seeing each other for several years. The team at the Mad Turk was great from booking such a large party and changes to numbers. Staff were extremely attentive and helpful throught the evening. Everyone really loved the food. Lived up to its reputation.

I would love to be able to review the actual food but unfortunately after 3 hours and multiple phone calls it did not arrive until 30 minutes after we called and cancelled and started cooking....

Order never turned up, no answer on phone.

Half of the menu was unavailable including pizzas and lasagna, which are the staple food of an Italian restaurant. The pasta dishes (crab linguine but you had to dig hard to find the crab) and Italian meatballs in tomato sauce (a very basic Italian dish yet nothing to write home about) were overpriced (£20 and £16) and not worth the money. The crispy squid starter was however delicious (£12) but a glass of small house red wine at £6.50 is really over the top. Total meal for 2 @£61 which is more expensive than Paris (where I live). I shall definitely not be returning.

Lovely old pub in the centre of Stamford with decent beer and tasty food. I loved my blue cheese burger with black pudding jam and at £13 it was a really good price. They use local suppliers which is great, service was really friendly and the place was full when we left which is great to see on a Thursday lunchtime. Deserves its 5 stars, keep doing what you are doing 👏

We’re staying for the first time in Stamford and decided to come here as it’s within easy walking distance of where we’re staying and the sensibly written reviews seemed very complimentary. My 88 year old mother, my husband and I weren’t disappointed. We had an absolutely excellent meal - starters, mains and sides. Portions were extremely generous and we have brought our leftovers back to our accommodation. The staff were unfailingly friendly and helpful, and the restaurant itself is a stylishly sympathetic conversion of a lovely traditional building.

Booked Paten and Co for Sunday lunch with 2 friends. The food, although was a little slow arriving, 40mins+ was very tasty, homemade and very good value. Cocktails expertly made and Wine good value. Staff were excellent particularly, Tilly, who kept us informed regarding the delay of the food, and the Manager, sorry can't remember his name, very attentive and professional.

The staff are lovely and very efficient. The coffee was good. Yes, the food was very tasty, but there was not very much of it. The gluten free bread was cold from somewhere.

By far, the best place in Stamford! A family feel and epic, quality drinks. My daughter and her friend also have the freedom to express their art, which is welcome to be added by others, so please join in!

There’s an argument that you shouldn’t recommend good place as next time you come there are no free tables. Saying that the bacon sandwich was the best I have had in a long time and the pancakes fresh and cooked to perfection. We’ll be back!

This is my favourite bar in Stamford. Lovely atmosphere, really cosy and great staff. The cocktails are amazing and reasonably priced. On Weds, Thurs and Fri they have special offers on some cocktails - £6 each, which is crazily cheap for the quality of the drinks. Also a great selection of bottled beers.

We had the set meal 😋 it was amazing, we have been before ,but they have really up their game,the food and service were faultless.
