Been here several times for breakfast and lunch Lovely food, friendly staff and good coffee Nicely done out inside too If I was to have one criticism it’s the tea… it’s weak and I think you should offer a more “robust” bag for those that like strong tea Apart from not everyone wanting posh tea bags this is now our “go to brunch place” for good , hot and yummy food I can always drink the coffee instead!!

Outstanding location, excellent food and service. The Chef and Team are clearly proud of their Restaurant and Food, rightly so. It transpried that the Lead front of house lady and chef/owner have worked together for a long time and it showed in every aspect. The decor, layout and the eclectic mix of decorations, lamps and accessories is creative and fresh which, given they have been open eight years says it all. Thank you so much, Lee & Cheryl.

Average offering for the price. I found the place a little draughty and the service somewhathit and miss. The chicken bloomer was quite bland and sparse. Certainly not worth almost £10. The drinks server needs to be a little more attentive, I didn’t get offered a drink.

After passing a few restaurants in Stamford that we didn't find enticing, we came upon Lambert's in Cheyne Lane. We perused the outside menu, liked what we had read and so went in. We were pleasantly greeted, chose our table and sat down in a clean, delightfully decorated eating place. All the serving staff made us feel welcome with their smiles and attentiveness. Choosing what to eat was made very easy by the way the menu is simply laid out, showing also any extras you my wish to add to your meal. Everything we'd chosen was tastefully cooked to a high degree which we thoroughly enjoyed. Compliments to the Chefs. We also thought it was value for money too!

I regularly visit Lamberts and can never fault it ,I have Coeliac disease so I need order gluten free food, and I have just had a wonderful afternoon tea there. The food and presentation were excellent and it looked the same as my family's normal teas, whereas in some places I am offered a very miserable and unimaginative selection. It's always greatly appreciated when restaurants understand the seriousness of being Coeliac, it's not a fad but a disease and so I would like other potential customers to know that they can feel very confident to eat at Lamberts Thank you for my delicious tea!

Lamberts has always been one of our favourite lunch venues - good food, lovely building. It’s one we take friends to. However our last visit has spoiled that. One of our party has a strict diet due to chronic illness. They carefully picked and asked to change one item - halloumi. The poor response was a surprise and disappointment. When we suggested avocado the waiter was dismissive saying it was much more expensive - despite both being the same price as sides on their menu and the meal being £16 anyway. There was no offer of just doubling up one of the other items. They ended up with the halloumi they couldn’t eat. This response, in this day and age, was poor and upsetting; we had been so pleased that our friend had actually been able to join us on that day. The service across the whole lunch was cold. Not the usual warmth from the lady we usually see.

We, 3 ladies on a mid week break, had a lovely lunch at Lamberts. It’s a comfortable restaurant with fresh home cooked food. Two of us chose the vegetarian graze box which had a great selection and we had an extra of truffle Parmesan fries which were delicious. The other friend had the beef burger which she sad was tasty and definitely home made. I wouldn’t hesitate to go back if we visit Stamford again.

This is a lovely restaurant/cafe. Really comfortable surroundings and good food. We’ve been there a number of times now but find it’s sadly tainted by the rather unfriendly, bordering on rude, manager/waitress. I’m not sure what her role is. She needs some advice or training on how to be pleasant to customers. As we continue to return we obviously put the food before the service. The other waiting staff are professional and exactly what you’d expect… without her it would be a perfect place to eat.

We had booked a table for 1:30 for my sisters birthday but unfortunately due to traffic, full car parks and the road leading to the restaurant being shut we arrived 20 minutes late. This is totally on us but we were absolutely rushing trying to find the street on Google maps as the usual route was shut, we arrived very flustered and I tried to explain that we had a table booked at 1:30. Before I could even explain what had happened or even apologise the extremely rude server butted in (very loudly and rather aggressively) “yeah I’ve given your table away because you’re late but there’s that one if you want” where she proceeded to throw the menus down and walk off without another word. Her whole attitude was very standoffish and made all of us feel very uncomfortable. Confused and rather embarrassed my sisters and I sat down at a dirty table with stains and food crumbs over seat cushions. The menus were also full of food stains. We weren’t asked if we would like any water for the table of anything just left to our own devices until a different waitress came to take our order. I ordered a gluten free sandwich and my sisters ordered a salad each with iced lattes. The waitress took my order for GF bread and came back to ask “if it was a real allergy or not as the sauce has to be changed” again no discretion or sensitivity from members of staff even when discussing my diet. The iced lattes were warm but the food was fairly decent. We felt it was pricey at almost £50 for 2 salads, a sandwich and a (non alcoholic) drink each. Nobody at any point asked if the food was okay or if we needed anything during our whole experience. We would have stayed for scones and tea but really just wanted to get out of there as we all felt extremely unwelcome and uncomfortable. This could be a really lovely place but the staff and general cleanliness really let it down.

We were told to wait for a table and the waitress/manager indicated that it would not be long as a customer was leaving and the table just needed cleaning. We could see the table from where we were standing and it took AGES for somebody to spruce it up for us. We needed to get a train home (one an hour) and after a while we began to regret our choice of lunch venue, but we waited it out. We were not disappointed as the prawn and avocado sandwich was lovely and dare I say it, worth the wait. It was our most expensive sandwich during our short break in the area, but also probably the most decadent so… fair enough.

Lovely decor in beautiful lane in Stamford. Very nice waiting service. Only one problem, my son banged his head while exiting the restaurant. There was no warning on the door lintel. Not the best in Stamford! To me, it was a little underwhelming. I thought the egg was pretty tasteless, the rest was okay. Toast for the butter was unsalted, which is not to my taste. I think if you going to do toast, give the option of salted or unsalted. Also, why is the butter hard? Clearly just come out the fridge, to go on hot toast is never a good mix. It’s the little things that make the difference! If I paid for £5, I couldn’t really have complained, but it was £10.20 With a pot of tea

The veggie breakfast was truly delicious and very creative, including sweet potato cooked with thyme and parsley, spinach, avocado, beautiful mushrooms and delicious Hambleton’s bread. The COVID-19 secure measures are excellent with spaced seating, big windows open creating an airy atmosphere, hand sanitiser available on entry, and all staff wearing visors. Businesses like this have really suffered but very much deserve to be a success and need all the support we can give. We will be back!

Lunchtime Really excellent lunch - we had the fish sharing platter with bread and salad. Very high standard of food, service and hygiene. It’s down an alley but we’ll worth the few minutes walk from the main pedestrianised area. Will definitely make a return visit.

Went here with some friends and we had a fab meal. Their salmon special was to die for and so were the sweet potato fries! Tad hot in there but can't always be helped. xx

Continuing the birthday "weekend" for daughter No.1 we had lunch together at Lambert' s. I hadn't been before and was impressed by the ambience and decor of the space. The staff were friendly and professional and our table for two was a decent size. The menu was interesting with p knob entry of choices. I had the roast salmon and New potato salad which was delicious and the birthday girl had a generous ham and cheese roll with salad and a side of fries. Service was prompt and the food was well presented. My only negative was. . .a happy dog (bad enough) which was being WALKED around the cafe in, I assume, an attempt to keep it quiet!!

Nice simple lunch. We had the mussels with chips which were very nice and the pear, beetroot and Stilton salad which was also very good. Could have had a better wine selection, the Chardonnay was not great.

This is yet another great restaurant in Stamford, Lincs. The food is sourced locally, beautifully cooked and served. The owner is always there and the kitchen staff produce excellent dishes, going the extra mile to produce something even if it is not on the menu. The front of house staff are wonderful, pleasant, friendly and hard working. Coffee, cakes and scones are a treat and the omelettes are very generous with lots of filling.

We lunched here last week, having heard great things about the place, and were not disappointed. My wife's "Lambert's Burger" was served in a crisp ciabatta bun, and came with a variety of small accompaniments - all of which she demolished in a lip-smacking, eye-rolling frenzy of nom nom. My grilled salmon salad was equally good: so much so that we tried recreating it at home a couple of days later. Having wolfed what had been intended to be a single course lunch, we couldn't bear to leave so soon, so stayed on for excellent coffee and a shared Banoffee Pie. Service with a smile throughout. We'll be back. It's not cheap, but it's well worth it

Just ordered a sauage abd mushroom baguette. Awful greasy mushrooms that tasted and smelt like old oil. Totally spoilt my baguette as the oil soaked into the bread. No butter at all too.

This was always our go to place for brunch and we were regular visitors Last two times… Had quiche and salad - quiche bottom was soggy and inedible, informed waitress who said that she would tell the chef and that’s likely to happen with the type of filling… ok soo stuff happens On next visit had soup and it was tasteless, no one came to check how the meal was and not possible to stop someone as busy busy. Ate the bread and left the soup. Mentioned it wasn’t good and couldn’t eat it when we paid, just said “oh sorry about that” And carried on We paid in full but was more disappointed in the way our feedback was taken… eg dismissed. could def be improved upon… same waitress both times Sadly we haven’t been back

Visited the Jolly Brewer In Stamford for the first time today, And met Tony and the staff very warm and welcoming pub and the open fire was happy surprise specially as it was cold, The beers are very well kept especially the Guinness probably one of the best in the area and the home-made food Was outstanding and very reasonable price , Will definitely be visiting again next time I’m in Stamford and recommending to friends and family

Very nice spot for a lunch in a busy market square in a lovely town - where we wanted somewhere independent and with a bit of character. Found a table outside which was a perfect holiday moment spot. Good choice of sandwiches, good coffee. Best part though was climbing the stairs to the top floor of the ancient building to find the loo.

We were warmly welcomed by Casey, who talked us through the menu options, checking if we had any allergies. We selected the mango & lime chicken breast with homemade slaw, spinach and rice. Beautifully cooked and thoroughly enjoyable. We are unable to fault the the way we were welcomed and served by Casey, the quality and value of the food. We entered when they opened and hence, were the only patrons, so rated the atmosphere as okay. In passing, the choice of background music was very enjoyable.
