Cloisters Italian Bistro in South Kesteven

Had a fabulous meal at Cloisters during our stay in Stamford. Beautiful food, good service and nice atmosphere.

Have dined at Cloisters many times, Jen and the team are always so attentive and the food is exceptional. This is the best Italian restaurant in Stamford with the most amazing choice of delicious food and wines at reasonable prices, excellent value for money

Had a wonderful birthday lunch here and definitely recommend it! Lovely creamy carbonara and the cheesecake… that was the best Nutella cheesecake I’ve ever had ❤️ Also, big thank you to Jen and Jasmine for giving us the best table and looking after us on my special day.

Absolutely superb food, freshly cooked with excellent ingredients. We’ve been a few times and every meal has been consistently excellent, with great service to match, especially the proprietresses. With a good but reasonably priced wine list and welcoming atmosphere it’s one not to miss.

We had a fantastic lunch here yesterday . Food was delicious and the staff were so friendly never rushing you between courses. The Nutella cheesecake was a highlight! Definitely new favourite place found! We will be back!

My wife and I were in Stamford meeting some friends in the afternoon. Walking close to St. Mary's I noticed a new restaurant to us. It looked really pleasant and clean, it was very close to noon so we walked in. It was just on the cusp of opening and we were warmly welcomed. We had a drink and viewed the menu, I have more than a weakness for Italian cuisine. The whole menu looked luscious. We had an ante-pasta and opted for the Duck Lasagna. It was sensational, indeed the whole experience was fabulous and set us up for the afternoon activities. The service was great and friendly, the food was fabulous and the Bistro is down in my book as the place to go to in Stamford.

Best service and best pizzas in Stamford Not a massive menu but that suits me as I’d rather have great food than a huge menu Pizzas are amazing as are the puds Very friendly and lovely atmosphere. Nothing it too much trouble but the don’t crowd you Been coming her many many years and it’s still the top place for Italian food

Table near the serving hatch / area seemed to lack any degree of ambience - i think i expected it to be nicer than it was so i felt a little disappointed It does get booked up so perhaps I am not seeing what others see as we were in and then out with no chilled out vibe Food was good just not as sumptuous evening out as anticipated so left a little disappointed

Restaurant is lovely, service is great, and the food is wonderful. Also, would like to say how accommodating Cloisters are - my partner and I booked a table three weeks ago, but had to reschedule twice because of hospital stays and a pregnant girlfriend. The staff were fantastic and decent and had no problem keeping a table for the next week (and then the next week!) after. Highly recommend for some great food in a cosy setting.

6 of us went for a family meal. Proper authentic , simple Italian which is how it’s supposed to be. Not the fake creamy rubbish you get elsewhere. Tirimasu was to die for .

Had a pizza and it was the best I have had for a long time will definitely be going back .

Went early on Friday lunchtime. Place was empty but rude waiter said we would have to wait an hour for a table. When questioned further he said tables were in 15 minute slots but gained impression we were not welcome as we were not dressed smartly. Saw two ladies turned away for the same reason. Took our business to Ask restaurant and had lovely service and a lovely meal. In this day and age of customer service this was very poor and will never visit the restaurant again.

Amazing little deli set in the heart of Stamford! The lady sales person today fantastic no pressure to sell you anything 10/10 ! Being an Italian we bought a few goodies as you can see by the pictures! A very high class deli & affordability is great ! Also next to it joining on to their restaurant very vibrant!

Had a table for 4 early evening, the reception was great and this was followed by a really nice meal with excellent food. A very nice evening in a very pleasant atmosphere. Highly recommended establishment but ensure booked in.

Fantastic, delicious food, nice relaxing ambience. We had the pasta fritti, the fried squid and the fococcia to start, all 3 were amazing. Then the carbonara and the gnocchi for the main. Really good but needed a doggy bag and we were stuffed.

Had a family lunch at Cloisters for my Mum’s birthday. The food was delicious and the staff were friendly. We appreciated that they stayed open to allow a few members of the party to have dessert. Would highly recommend Cloisters.

I've visited this independent, family-run restaurant several times over the past few years and it never fails to impress me. The couple who run the restaurant and their team really try their best to provide great, friendly, professional service and absolutely delicious food every time. I cannot praise the atmosphere, service and food highly enough. I would definitely recommend.

Visited 15th June 2023 5.30pm 4 in our party food was excellent I have to say the Duck Lasagne deserves an award in my opinion, stunning, the crab linguine was also rated highly, can it be repeated ? I'll be back again soon to find out.

Lovely lunchtime meal with 5 friends, pre-ordered to speed up service. After looking at the menu I chose a cheaper option of half pizza with small salad for £9 (lunchtime only option). Service and food were excellent and extremely friendly.

We were greeted by a really nice waiter and taken to our table. The service was very good on the whole. For our main meal my wife and I both had the crab linguine. Unfortunately both our meals were swimming in oil/butter and had lots of crab shell, which really wasn't pleasant

Fabulous food. The crab linguini is out of this world. Friendly service. Very reasonably priced. No annoying background music so able to hold a conversation. Plenty of space between tables. Very relaxing atmosphere.

Fourth visit here, not as good as previous visits. Food very heavy on the garlic which didn't add but rather masked the taste of main dishes. Charged extra £1 for gluten free, whilst happy to pay for my dietary restrictions I should have been informed rather than just seeing charge on the bill. Staff efficient but sat at rear of restaurant near toilets .. which reduced atmosphere. Shame as usually good.
