My husband and I regularly go to this lovely family run bistro I recently had a rigatoni carbonara it was superb Bonus they are Italian so they cook genuine Italian food

First foray was for a late breakfast - coffee and croissant. Sat outside in the sunshine and enjoyed both. Can't beat a freshly baked croissant with dark, rich coffee to complement. Returned for a light lunch a few days later and was equally impressed by the freshly prepared food and friendly professional service. Great choice of Italian sourced wines and beers, to boot. This Italian family run bistrot deserves to do well as their commitment is obvious in all they do. Get down there and see for yourself. I doubt you'll be disappointed.

From the moment I walked into Take Italy Bistrot, I felt like I was coming home. The warm, welcoming atmosphere, coupled with the genuine hospitality of the owners, made me feel like part of their extended family. A standout for me was the cornetto with pistachio cream it was absolutely delicious. The delicate pastry, paired with the creamy, nutty filling, was a perfect way to end the meal and left me craving more. Every dish is crafted with love, using home recipes and the freshest ingredients that transport you straight to Italy. I can’t wait to return to this gem where the essence of home-cooked Italian food is celebrated every day.

Good Italian food and really warm hospitality. The owners are very careful over the ingredients they use and will happily discuss the dishes available if you have any questions. So good to be served food by people who really care about what they are serving.

We were warmly greeted by the family from Calabria who own this authentic Italian bistro. The risotto zafferano, speck e fungi was so divine and my husband thoroughly enjoyed his penne vodka e salmone. We shared a delicious home-made pistachio tart and icecream. The family were lovely to chat with and deserve to do well.

As the tennis went on a little late on saturday we thought we would try this new restaurant even though we had not booked the whole family were so welcoming we had a lovely cheese starter and pizza and lasagne which had only been made that day so delicious and they said if we can book next time they will prepare whatever we order fresh that day will definitely be returning and a great addition to our town

This is a brilliant find for great Italian food in Grantham. The pizzas and panini were the best we tasted for a long time, handmade dough, delicious! Also authentic Italian products for sale on the counter. We bought some to take home. We will be back and already recommended this place to some Italian friends. Very friendly and enthusiastic owners.

Hidden Gem for everyone that appreciates proper Italian cuisine! Proper carbonara with egg and pecorino 🙌🏼 what a rare find! Produce like cured meats from Italy and the wine directly from the family winery. Highly recommended!

I went for the first time today after hearing about it from people I knew and it did not disappoint. Staff are all very nice and welcoming. Food was amazing and great price. Will definitely be going again.

We visited Grantham on the 22nd June and booked to celebrate my dad’s birthday, what a wonderful restaurant the whole ambience was amazing and a lovely courtyard garden. The food was delicious all homemade and authentic food, the pizzas are delicious and really large, definitely recommend them. The family who own the restaurant are super friendly and make you feel so welcome. Definitely be visiting again, thank you for a great evening.

Visited for my birthday and what a gem we found lovely ambience and outside garden. Made to feel very welcome by the family. The homemade brucheta was delicious.The pizzas' thin crust was very tasty and enormous, and the pasta bolognase the best ever had. We had a problem getting a taxi, so the owner took us back to our hotel very much appreciated. Can definitely recommend.

We visited this bistro for the first time yesterday. We really enjoyed it. It is evident that this place is made with love. The food is very delicious, and it feels as if I have been to Italy. The staff and the atmosphere are wonderful. I highly recommend everyone visit this lovely restaurant and experience the taste of Italy.

Nice enough place but got charged for water and the food was only fine, not the greatest Italian food I’ve had, not the worst but possibly won’t come here again often over other places in Grantham.

This place does delicious homemade food, everything we had was amazing and the owners and family were always asking how things were and always available to give advice on wines and the gluten free options (unfortunately there is risk of cross contamination as it is a small kitchen). We both had the Carbonara Calabrese, which had Italian Sausage and it was worth the swap on the original (which we love) For dessert (because it would be rude not too!) we had bomba al gelato which my partner loved and the gluten free option off Tartufo di Pizzi pistachio, this was also so nice. We would definitely recommend this place and would love to see them thrive as an independent business! We definitely need more places like this in Grantham.

Great food and service but expensive!

We booked yesterday for a party of 9, celebrating an 80th birthday. We had the restaurant to ourselves, for almost 3 hours, and had a magnificent experience: authentic Calabrese food (we hav connections in Puglia), including starters to die for, excellent mains and bread fresh from the oven. We would recommend Take Italy wholeheartedly!

When a restaurant opens as “authentic” anything, I’m skeptical. In this case, however, it’s absolutely true! The food is EXACTLY my experience is my many travels to family-run restaurants in Italy, with only the freshest ingredients prepared by hand and with love and passion. The owners are friendly and accommodating, the atmosphere is inviting, and the food is WAY beyond my high expectations. I can’t recommend this place highly enough!

My partner and I visited here twice, both times felt like we had found a hidden gem. The food tasted authentically Italian, with special highlights being the tris bruschetta that had delicious homemade bread, creamy risottos that were rich and flavourful (I had both the speck and mushroom one and the asparagus and almond one, both delicious) and well-recommended wine to complete the set. The portions were huge, perfect for one person but also I split a main into two and still left feeling full. The family running the place were very friendly and attentive, leaving nothing to be desired. Highly recommend!

Well. I’m Italian so finding a place that actually have not only italian food but good aswell is hard. Take Italy Bistrot has amazing food, the real deal. They welcomed us fantastically, we felt like we were back to Italy. The coffee was spectacular, the “Cornetto” ( croissant) with Nutella was to die for. this will definitely be my new favourite place in town. If I could give 100 stars I would. The owners are an amazing family from Calabria. We had a lovely chat. 10/10

I came with a friend who recommends this family-run Italian restaurant, and indeed, the food is authentically Italian! Everything is freshly made, very good quality, and just delicious. If you're going out with your family or friends, just go and try the food.Don't compare prices with other restaurants because with premium quality food, there is no comparison. They differentiate on quality and authenticity.If you want to have a treat, have a real, delicious treat - one that leaves great memories of food brought over from Italy to Grantham, and genuinely prepared by Italians who are committed to serving you good food.

We had a lovely meal last night with friends. The tomahawk and filet were delicious, great quality meat, we shared 3 starters which were excellent. Great choice of soft drinks and wine. The family running it are passionate about their traditional Italian food and it shows. Wishing you all the best.

Small but friendly family run bistrot, where the owners really seem to care about the authenticity of their food and as such have a small, carefully selected menu. The food was excellent, we particularly enjoyed the bruschetta with home made bread and that evenings special which was a sausage pasta, really great. You do have to pre-order meat dishes so if you would like to eat other than the pizza and pasta offerings, make sure you have contacted them in advance. Overall this was a lovely experience, the staff were really friendly and keen to talk about their passion for food. The one thing I would like to see change was them measuring out the wine by the glass, they were free pouring, no marks on the glasses to guide them and I felt the measures were not 175ml, but this is a small gripe, I would readily return and sample more excellent Italian cooking.

Called heading for Norfolk. What a treat! Delightfully authentic, very much suited our holiday mood. Lovely food and wine - we weren't Penny-pinching.

Went with a friend on a Friday evening, and was surprised how quiet the Bistro was - but it has only been open a few weeks. Very friendly service, explaining how some of the options are made, and where the wines come from. Food was excellent, we each sampled the other's dinner, and both the Penne Vodka e Salmon and the Risotto Asparagi e Mandorle were delicious. The wines are a little pricy, but our bottle of red was good. The dessert, off the specials board, was to die for! By the time we had finished a large party had arrived, and we thought that the design of the dining area could have done with more soft furnishings, as (although the party were in no way rowdy), the sound bounced off all the hard surfaces and became intrusive. Will certainly return. Note that most meat dishes need to be pre-ordered at this restaurant.

My husband and I went for dinner this evening. We had a delightful meal, perfectly cooked and served with friendliness. We were welcomed like family and had a wonderful time. We recommend this restaurant to anybody that wants to experience a genuine taste of Italy and the friendliness of an Italian family.

Super little Italian place. We had Gnocci and Risotto which was very well made and clearly very good quality ingredients were used. The family running this restaurant are very welcoming and warm. Nice addition to Grantham

We took a work colleague from Switzerland here tonight. The food was delicious, the sharing starter of meat and cheese was incredible, I have no idea how they made the fresh bread but it’s a must, incredible. The family could not do anymore to make the whole experience a pleasure, so friendly and happy to serve. Only 1 area for a slight improvement was the lighting, just a bit too bright for us and needed a more cosy feel. The family agreed but said they had reduced the lighting and people complained it was too dark so we agreed they can’t win!!! A definite must to visit, we will certainly be back. Pizza also was extremely good.

Very enjoyable evening on Saturday 2/3/24 with authentic Italian home cooking. The family are very keen to please and share their passion for the food and wine of their region Calabria. We really enjoyed our cured meat starter and pizzas and the pistachio tiramisu was one of the best I have ever tasted! Yes there are some refinements to be made but this did not spoil our enjoyment of what we hope will be a successful venture. Nice touch of Calabrian liqueur and the hand of friendship at the end of the evening. We’ll be back!

Everything about this bistro is fabulous, especially the food which is cooked from scratch (even the panini bread is made on ordering). Delicious home made chips and desserts, light and airy panini stuffed with Italian hams, cured meats, mozzarella and fresh vegetables. A world away from the usual heavy, greasy offerings. Lovely family-run restaurant. We’ll be back to try in the evening.

I had a lovely lunch with my daughter yesterday. Everything was amazing. The panini bread was made freshly on ordering, and were light, crispy on the outside and filled with a variety of Italian hams and cured meats, lots of mozzarella and fresh vegetables. Chips were hand cut and fried, and tasted fabulous. I’m going to try it in the evening when we have more time to taste the traditional Italian dishes. Dessert of the day was a delicious pistachio tart. It would be great to support this friendly, proper family Italian bistro/ restaurant in Grantham. There’s nothing else quite like it here.

Dropped in for lunch randomly. Had the Calzone off the special and think it was the nicest one I’ve ever eaten. Top notch Italian coffee too. Staff were very attentive, but looked like it had only just opened - think we were the only people in there. Learned about their Calabrian story, very keen to go back as they settle in, and keen to do so before people learn how amazing the food is!

We were keen to support the family running this new restaurant so eagerly booked a table and took my parents. Nothing on the table when you sit down - no cutlery, glasses, wait and pepper. Nothing. The lighting is poor so no atmosphere, the wine list is digital and difficult to read on your phone, whilst 2 of our pizzas were ok, mine was 2/3 soggy and inedible, one pasta dish was too dry to eat, served in a cold bowl. The staff were arrogant verging on aggressive when we said what was wrong. You don’t get a bill just get told an amount and expected to pay without seeing what you’ve been charged for. I understand they’ve not run a restaurant before but life and business are about being open to feedback, and of course in business you have to listen to your customers. I fear that unless they listen to feedback this will be a very short lived venture. We’re so disappointed and really wanted it to have been a success.

Amazing food, everything freshly cooked. Lots of the food is home-made including the bread, pesto etc. A cracking family run Italian, highly recommended and plan on returning soon.

I really enjoyed my time at this restaurant. Amazing italian food made with such a detail and soul, great and extremely friendly staff. Our evening was perfect here with great wine and so much food! Cannot recommend enough!

I honestly cannot recommend this place enough. This is a new place in Grantham and the owners put so much love and attention to make it part of their Italian culture and kitchen. The food is so true and delicious. Made fresh from scratch with a bit of of a soul and tradition from the chef. We had such a great time here. We were tempted to try some classics recommended by the chef and no disappointments there - food was perfectly crafted for our tastes. Great Italian wine, great atmosphere and extremely friendly staff. Cannot wait to come back and try more.

Popped in with family to escape the cold, wet weather. We enjoyed some lovely coffee, some awesome Italian pineapple juice and the most amazing Pistachio cream filled donut. We’re looking forward to returning for lunch/dinner sometime soon.

Gorgeous lovely Calabrian Italian family business with fantastic fresh high quality ingredients and beautiful home cooking. If you like your meat, this is the place for you. The steaks look pricey but are ginormous and can be shared between 2-4 people! The risotto was rich and delicious (I recommend sharing). And the Nduja bread dip was sensational. Great portion sizes. So friendly. Great food. Really tastes of Italian home cooking. The wine offered and suggested was great and paired very well with the meats. And is from their hometown. Great atmosphere (although the lighting could be a little improved! More warm light, less bright white bulbs - I think this will do wonders for the place. But they did say to us that they havnt finished the decor as they wanted to get the place open quickly - this is their first week open so plenty of time for decor improvements)

We called today for morning coffee. We had a croissant and red velvet doughnut. They were delicious. The service was excellent. Would highly recommend. We will be back. Good luck to the owners.

The best pizza we have ever had in the whole UK. Definitely the best pizza in town. Fresh, delicious and amazing. I love that it is not oily and greasy as most of the take away pizzas.

Saw the company on social media a few weeks ago, me and my partner decided to stray away from the dominoes and give TakeItaly a try... The food is incredible and tastes extremely fresh.. the portion sizes are great and very reasonably priced. The staff are genuine, kind and passionate about the food they are making and delivering. I would highly recommend giving them a try if you enjoy a quality, fresh pizza!
