Lovely sunny spot & seemed very popular. I had a cheese and onion toasty, and my husband had a bowl of fresh soup. All tasted very fresh, bread was lovely sourdough and very tasty. Huge bread roll with the soup! Staff very friendly & attentive and offered to bring out some water for us (we didn't order drinks as we had recently stopped off at the local pub). Really pleasant lunch – I would recommend!

A big thank you to the young man (sorry, I didn’t get his name) who worked tirelessly (and cheerfully) on his own over lunch time. It was busy because there was only one other cafe open in Eyam today and to expect him to serve customers, make drinks and clear tables was a big ask but he managed brilliantly. Clearly a very capable chap. The cheese scones are highly recommended!

In the sleepy village of Eyam this was a godsend! Bocconceli is set in the courtyard of Eyam House, and is complimented by the bar at Coolstone, and the hot drinks and yummy dessert slices at The Nook. The atmosphere was buzzing in the courtyard, the food choices were great (amazing pizzas, loaded fries…beyond the norm….etc), and dogs were welcome! Will definitely be back.

What a lovely lunch we gad with Stella. It was like visiting a friend and tge food was delicious. Watch out for tge chilli relish which is on tge hot side but a great accompaniment to really tasty food. And so reasonable. We had 2 main courses, a side of fried plantain and cakes to go for £46. And we were made welcome by Stella's granddaughter too who told us all about her forthcoming birthday, her friends and a family trip that she was about to go on. All in all enchanting

We booked a table in the bar for three of us and our two little dogs but due to the glorious weather we dined at table 64 in the Courtyard. We visited as the third part of our trying out the Rob at Longbow trio of offerings at the Ashford Arms, The Maynard and The George. All three offer different but extensive menus though Wine list is common to all which was a bonus as we are fans of Rob’s recommendations. My only plea is to add at least a bottled Wheat beer to the drinks range. Firstly, it was much appreciated that smoking and non smoking were kept a reasonable distance apart so that non smokers are able to avail of outdoor dining. Also, table 64 was ideal for our Dandies to shelter from the strong sun and heat. We were extremely well looked after by the staff and primarily by Alice who ensured we had a high quality experience and that all food was as it should be. She was extremely knowledgeable about what should be on each plate and quickly spotted two omissions on my Lebanese Spiced Lamb ballotine which turned out to be absolutely delicious though not sure why the half pitta is served underneath it rather than alongside. The Katsu Chicken Curry and Mushroom&Oat Burger were equally delicious. A very good range of starters from which we had Sweet and Sour Prawns, Cured Sea Trout and Korean flavoured Scotch Egg - all well presented and very tasty with the standout being the Scotch Egg. We shared the cheese and a Grapefruit Tart. I would have liked the tart to have a more grapefruit flavour but apart from that it was lovely. In our view The George was well up there with the Ashford Arms on food, service and environment and we will certainly be back to both regularly. Many thanks again to Alice for top drawer service and fantastic attention to detail!

I have been to this tea room on my own and with friends, always fabulous service and great value for money. The paninis are delicious as is the chocolate stout cake, not to mention the cheesy chips ! Great place to stop off when you're out walking, always friendly and welcoming. I would highly recommend

Came here with a couple of friends during a one night stay in Hathersage and so glad we did. First tip is make sure you book. We came on a Saturday night and it was really busy but our table was ready. The menu had a massive selection to suit all tastes. The food was delicious with beautiful spicy and herby tastes washed down with bottles of Cobra. Even though it was very busy the staff were friendly and attentive. We were also pleasantly surprised at the value for money when we got the bill. Would definitely recommend.

The two stars are for the food not the staff. The staff are very helpful and give good quality service. The food is another matter. First of all, the choice for anyone with a lactose intolerance is non existent. As is any choice if you are vegetarian or vegan. All the food items on that counter display contained cheese and the one vegan item looked tired and well, odd. Not sure if it was meant to be some kind of roll. I said I would have this but then asked it contained garlic, which it did, so I couldn’t have that either. I said I would settle for just a cake but was offered a ham sandwich. Ham is actually cured with milk so that was out too. I am ok with bacon so had a bacon sandwich. I also said I’d be fine with a slice of raspberry Bakewell. The bacon was undercooked and very fatty and I had less than half of it. It was actually the worst bacon sandwich I’ve ever had and pretty well annoyed that this was the only thing on offer to me in the first place! I bake a lot at home and I can’t understand why the Raspberry Bakewell slice was so gritty and tasteless? I only had two bites of that and couldn’t take any more. The only good thing about this meal was the tea, which was really good. £11.80 for this! The place itself is not how I remember it. It certainly isn’t as glossy as the pictures on the website show. The tables outside are badly in need of maintenance with at least needing a lick of varnish. I hadn’t been here for years and was very disappointed. It certainly isn’t as good as I remember it. The food I had was awful and felt pressured to have it as nothing else on offer. Sorry to the staff, they are really great.

We called with literally 2 minutes notice on NYE as we’d booked at Bank House across the road but the service was so appalling that we walked out. Sangams fitted us in with no fuss, and we had great service and a delicious meal at really reasonable prices. The lamb & paneer curry and lemon & cashew rice were particularly good. Thanks so much!
