We bought sandwiches from Cintra to take away for our walk. Just a cheese and tuna baguette and a cheese and cole slaw baguette - nothing fancy - but they were £8 each! Neither sandwich had any seasoning and were completely underwhelming. If you’re going to charge that much for a sandwich, make it memorable and delicious. We won’t be going back.

This one is an easy five stars. From the moment we stepped foot in the tearoom is was all excellent. The friendly and happy staff, who clearly get on well together (believe me - that makes a massive difference to a place), were immediately attentive offering us the choice of sitting inside or outside. It was a lovely sunny day, so outside it was on their comfortable outdoor chairs and clean table. Served by a very cheerful woman, we ordered a latte with oat milk and a cream tea. It came with a delicious raspberry scone that was perfectly warm. The loos were clean too. Definitely recommend it.

We were out photographing on Christmas Eve the weather was terrible so we went to find somewhere for breakfast and had never been here so thought we would give it a try. From walking in the staff were very friendly so it was a great start, we noticed they did an all day breakfast which is hard to find these days most places finish breakfast at a certain time. The breakfast was great freshly made and hot so 10 out of 10 for food 👌🏻👌🏻👌🏻 The waitress that served us was called Chloe and what a friendly lovely person, we will definitely be returning thank you Cintra’s.

We wanted an outside venue for lunch in Hathersage, and booked a table for 4 under an umbrella in the rear of the tea rooms. We were admittedly lucky with the weather, but the surroundings were pleasant under the trees, the tables placed far enough apart to feel relaxed, and the hygiene and attention to safety shown by the staff was excellent. Food was good, if fairly standard fare - I had a panini with salad, another had the steak pie - pronounced excellent. A bit limited on the vegan options, but there is an all day vegan breakfast. We loved every single thing about our first visit to Cintra's. Thanks Julie and your lovely team; everyone so welcoming and a very friendly covid-conscious service. I was really pleased and reassured to observe how conscientious (while remaining very polite) the staff were when welcoming customers, directing them to use santiser, also when serving food to the table, and sanitising tables in between visitors. You shouldn't miss this gem in Hathersage. Delicious food in a gorgeous garden setting. I called ahead to book as we were planning a relaxing brunch stop celebrating my husband's birthday following a walk and before a lido swim. We couldn't have chosen better. Julie had (without us asking) reserved us a table both inside in case of poor weather, and outside in the garden - what great service! Luckily we were able to enjoy the garden and the four of us tucked into a very welcome tasty brunch after our walk. Kids were very happy with a sausage bap, milkshake, and a steak-stacker sandwich with chips. All piping hot and fresh. My all day breakfast was superb. We couldn't resist chocolate pancakes for afters! We'll definitely return.

We work in hospitality and this is something definitely unusual, but definitely appreciated! The staff were very friendly and helpful, and once we ordered our food it was fairly quick to come out, despite it looking relatively busy. The scones were absolutely delicious! We weren’t told we had to pay on our way out so we were sat around for a little bit waiting for a member of staff to pass us to ask for the bill. Also not sure if there is a policy (to minimise customer contact) to only go to a customers table if they ask - but more communication on COVID policy would be useful upon entry/being seated, but these are only minor issues and we still had a lovely lovely time! Big thanks to all the staff, they were all very lovely and attentive when we spoke to them!

My husband and I visited Hathesage recently and spent a pleasant afternoon walking around. We found this tea rooms and we had one cream tea and one tea and cake. The raspberry scone was lovely and the victoria sponge very good. I love willow pattern crockery so great to be given this. Each table and chairs were cleaned after each guest and there was a one way system and track and trace . The staff had masks and we took the items off our tray . However when collecting the dirty crockery the staff put them back on the tray so not sure how that works? The toilet is opposite a serving area so not sure about that ? The rear garden was spacious and the tables were well spaced. Perhaps a few more colourful plants needed a a bit of time tidying the garden would help to improve the outdoor area but overall a pleasant experience.

We’ve been visiting the Peak District for years and always make a special effort to visit Cintra’s as the cakes are amazing. We were especially pleased to see them open again after the lockdown, as small businesses have been hit so hard. The COVID prevention processes they’ve put in place are great, with a one way system and tables spaced at least 2 metres apart in the garden, staff are all wearing masks or visors too and tables are thoroughly cleaned after each guest, which made us feel very safe and secure. We visited three times this trip, the service was brilliant and the food was outstanding. I would definitely recommend the raspberry scones, Victoria sponge, blueberry sponge, lemon sponge, chocolate sponge and raspberry and almond sponge, as you can see we like cake! The panini and baguettes are good too and not forgetting the fish finger bap which was a big hit with the teenager! We stayed in Hathersage to have a short walking break and went to Cintra's twice in three days. We'd been before a number of years ago and were really looking forward to more of their yummy scones and cakes. They did not disappoint. Staff were as friendly as we'd remembered and the shady garden is a lovely place to relax after a long day of walking. We were also grateful/reassured that they are taking Covid measures very seriously. There's a one-way system, a socially distanced waiting line for the seating (which is all outdoor), staff took contact details for 'track & trace', staff wore masks or visors at all times, our order was brought on a tray which we unloaded, and payment was contactless on the way out. Tables were cleared and cleaned promptly after each use (the chairs were also wiped down with spray).

Asked if we could change the pot of tea to a latte and a mocha which said could do subject to a surcharge - turned out to be only £1.20. Came nicely presented on a 3 tier cake stand. Sandwiches lovely and fresh (8 in total 4 different varieties) all very tasty with plenty of filling and nice salad / coleslaw also on the bottom tier. I just wished I’d stopped there! Not quite sure what flavour the large scones were supposed to be and nowhere near enough jam and cream to cover them. 2 generous slices of cake on the top tier but we found both slices dry. The menu overall looks quite extensive and can say that the drinks and sandwiches were good but suggest leave the scones and cake.

A moist and tangy lemon cake was my choice whilst Jag, following a last minute swerve from a something and walnut, went for the butterscotch, the aroma of which flooded the air from the moment the slice was cut. Thoroughly recommend and gratitude to Julie for interrupting her Thursday evening to kindly address a key related screw-up on my part!

We visited this cafe with our dog. The indoor seating area isn't dog friendly but the gardens are very pleasant and there is an under cover section. The staff were very pleasant, the food delicious and the portion sizes good.

Another trip to Derbyshire, another trip to Cintra’s and once again it didn’t disappoint. This time I stopped in for a cup of tea and a scone. Dodging the rain I was able to sit in the peaceful garden and enjoy a delicious raspberry scone, jam and cream. Delicious!

It is a lovely tea rooms with the advantage of a large garden at the back for making the most of the sunshine. After a long walk up Mam Tor, an amble around Castleton and a walk from our accommodation into Hathersage, we were in need of a good cup of tea and homemade cake. We weren't disappointed! From the cheery welcome, the secluded tea garden and the wonderful cake, the whole experience was exactly what was needed. We will ertainly visit again if we are ever in Hathersage!

We walked from Sheffield to Hathersage on a sunny Sunday earlier this month. I was worried we’d be a bit late for food but we arrived at Cintra’s and were welcomed in by a lovely young waitress. We chose to sit upstairs which we hadn’t actually realised existed on our previous visits. It was so lovely and homely.

Stopped in at Cintra's for a bite to eat after a long walk in the Peak District. It's a cosy little café and the staff were very friendly and attentive. We had a steak pie, a panini and a cream tea to finish and it was all delicious and good value for money. We will be coming back next time we are in the area!

My husband and I popped in for breakfast on Thursday after a lovely few days break staying at Maple Cottage, which Julie rents out as holiday let. We normally pop in on our last morning to set us up for the day, and both ordered the full english breakfast and a pot of tea. The place is friendly and welcoming and the food is always cooked to order so is nice and fresh and hot. It was a proper breakfast, and the tea was really good. They also do lots of other choices of food, and a wonderful array of cakes. We can vouch for the scones, as Julie was kind enough to leave a couple in the cottage for us as a welcome gift, which was great after the drive up. We will definitely be back shortly for another stay. thanks again Julie, see you again soon.

This little cafe was such a lovely place to visit during our trip up here. Drove past it a few days before and popped in today. Looked at the menu and there was a few vegetarian options like jacket potatoes and vegetarian Breakfasts. Was sat down for 10 minutes then someone came and took my order but didn't have what i wanted. I chose to have a cream tea instead then it took ages for it to arrive. We noticed the lady was wearing sandals rather than shoes which a) isn't hygienic, b) puts you off your food seeing feet and c) not suitable when working with hot products. The scone was delicious but i felt like the woman was rather rude and didn't have much enthusiasm to be there. Sad way to end our trip in hathersage.

OK - so I'm a bit late writing this review as it's almost a year since our visit! I can explain: my husband was on "day release" from hospital having suffered a heart attack, and he was due to have bypass surgery a couple of days after our Sunday morning visit. Naturally, we were a little worried and had driven out to Hathersage for a some fresh air and a bit of a treat to cheer ourselves up. Well, we certainly found an excellent tonic at Cintra's! We both had delicious coffee and a beautifully cooked full English (no, we weren't thinking Last Supper at all...............) We explained to the lovely staff that my OH was due to go under the knife and they couldn't have been kinder. They wished us luck and said they hoped we'd come back and tell them how things had gone. I seem to remember a hug too. We've not had a chance to go back as yet but things are looking better on the health front so we'll both be back soon! With best wishes and thank for your kindness.

Thank you Cintra’s. My mate and I arrived there three quarters of the way through our 57 mile bike ride, desperate for something vegan to eat. They were great and made us top notch vegan breakfasts. They had soya milk too. Absolutely brill.

We love this place and we return often for the best lattes for miles around. Julie is always lovely as are all her other staff. The garden at the back is a hidden gem; we take full advantage of sitting out there at the slightest opportunity of decent weather. The breakfasts are lovely, cooked to order and with quality ingredients. Rain, shine, wind or snow, we’ll continue to meet at Cintra’s before we head out for our walks.

Thank you to Julie at Cintra's for helping me to organise a great birthday party for family and friends. Thirty five people went on a circular walk ending with home cooked steak pie and a pint at Cintra's. We decorated the cafe with bunting and balloons. The food was tasty and enjoyed by everyone, it really fitted the bill after a good walk. Julie was friendly and accommodating, she really couldn't do enough to help. Thank you for a great day!

Whilst I cannot fault the quality of the food, the lack of toilet facilities causes me a major problem. Previously when we have visited here we were able to use the toilets belonging to the pub next door. Having mobility problems and on medication , I politely asked if it would be possible to use the staff WC. This was refused and I was told to use the public toilets which were a considerable distance away. It took me a very painful 25 minute walk to go there and back.I am 85 years old, leaning heavily on a walking stick . I feel very disappointed as i have visited this fish shop many times in the past.

Really lovely food, you wouldn't know it from the outside/inside - it's like any other pub but the food was really good. Had the best dessert - rice pudding with apple and nuts - to die for.

Arrived around 10:45 am on 10/11/24 only to be informed that there was no hot food being served until 11:15 due to a take away order. Others in front of us left and we reluctantly ordered two coffees, a flapjack and a Pork Pie instead of the full cooked breakfasts we’d hoped for. We were charged twice for the Pork Pie, which we pointed out and were subsequently refunded for. We sat at a table that had the previous occupants breakfast plate on it (which was never cleared, considering the waiting on staff weren’t serving any food at the time) and waited for our coffee which did not arrive. We fetched it ourselves from the counter, at which point around 11:05, they started taking breakfast orders again. The place seemed poorly managed and why you’d turn away valued customers for a take away order is beyond me.
