Hard to review as we never got to eat there! I was meeting two friends and booked via the website. I didn’t receive a confirmation so called and left a message on Wednesday. They text back later that day to say all was fine for Friday. We got there and there was a sign in the window saying “closed due to illness”. No communication received via text, email or phone. Not good after travelling an hour to meet up.

A fabulous evening, expectations were high from reading the reviews, and thankfully we weren’t disappointed! It was a busy evening, my husbands birthday but we had wonderful service, nothing was too much trouble and the food was incredible!! Highly recommend a great find!

Incredible. Took my partner for a meal last night. We were on the chefs table and it was incredible. Food was unbelievable and definitely worth a visit. Anthony and his team were so welcoming and all the food was beautiful. So much better than other kitchen bench meals we have done at different places.

We ate here as a couple on a Saturday evening. We booked last minute as we were staying locally that weekend for a trip, but they were very accommodating for us. The restaurant was busy and had a good atmosphere. We had starter and a main each and a bottle of wine. We couldn’t fit in a desert as we were stuffed! The food quality here is brilliant, so much flavour. Also the food was hot and portion sizes were great value for money. Dispute being busy the staff were friendly and attentive. We would absolutely return if we were in the area again. 10/10!!

Meeting up with a friend for brief catch-up over coffee/tea and a cake. Brilliant service, we lingered snd we’re never under pressure to move on. I’ve always have excellent service and brilliant range of foods. Gluten free and vegetarian, no problem Highly recommended and in magnificent countryside and rubbing shoulders with Chatsworth House, what could be better!

A wonderful hotel with excellent views and very comfortable bedroom. We had dinner in the gallery restaurant and the tasting menu was exceptional. The wine list was good and the pre-dinner lounge bar was very quaint. Today we had lunch in the garden restaurant with my family. The food was delicious but the experience was marred by poor service which led to the wrong main course being served twice! The response from one waitress was quite rude and dismissive. My comment on this event doesn’t reflect the rest of the stay we were impressed by the hospitality of the staff

Remarkably good. Excellent coffee (made properly) taste of the coffee is different to anything you would find around. It actually tastes how you would want a coffee to taste if you were to go out and enjoy one. The breakfasts and cakes look insane and we will deffo be back.

I have lived in Derbyshire all my life and of course, this is a case of ‘what’s on your doorstep’ you hardly ever consider! My friend arranged for myself and another friend to meet up and discuss all things countryside and veer onto other topics, at a rate of 19 to the dozen - as you do when you have not met up for a while. Walking into this little place was like stepping into a storybook … it has an astonishing atmosphere - I felt I was walking into somewhere I’d been before and it was so wonderful and cozy. We ate … the food was gorgeous and I don’t know who has put four ££££ signs at the top, but I can tell you, it’s not expensive whatsoever. I had a lovely posh toastie, with goat’s cheese, sweet pepper, rocket and tomato chutney and it was delicious … certainly filled a gap (was quite tempered with pudding). What was so nice was the fact that the area we were in was really snug and you had no choice but to say ‘Hello’ to those around you … so if you’re a miserable sod, this isn’t the place for you. I blummin loved it and will definitely go again!

A cosy café tucked in a corner of a tiny village on the Chatsworth estate. This does not stop it being deservedly very popular so you need to book. Delicious hearty food of all kinds, using local ingredients and they have mouthwatering cakes.

Visited on a cold day and there did not seem to be much heating on. We ate in our coats the room was that cold. A feature of the cafe is its large glass windows with a view over the countryside. Perhaps this vast expanse of glass makes the room harder to heat on a cold day? Menu has plenty of breakfast, snack and lunch options. Rather overpriced though. Bill for 3 hot drinks, 1 sandwich and 1,scone was £31.50. None of the food or drink items were exceptional all rather average. The service was very good.

Since their multi-million pound revamp, both the hotel and restaurants have gone from strength to strength. We had Sunday Lunch in the Gallery restaurant with friends, looking out at the snowy Derbyshire hills! Beautiful views all round. There are only four choices of starters, mains and puddings - but our beef and the salmon main courses were well-cooked and of very good quality. Many items are locally sourced too. Good and knowledgeable service too. While Gallery restaurant is more suited for adults, the lovely Terrace restaurant is more family-orientated and has a wider choice of food options. Easily ‘teamed’ with a pre-lunch visit either to Chatsworth House grounds or around the House itself in season. Go and enjoy.

Stopped of for a quick bite for breakfast before a walk. Both me and my husband had a bacon sandwich which was generously filled on lovely fluffy white bread. Very dog friendly and lovely coffee also. It was a tad pricey but is in a good and convenient location.
