Hard to review as we never got to eat there! I was meeting two friends and booked via the website. I didn’t receive a confirmation so called and left a message on Wednesday. They text back later that day to say all was fine for Friday. We got there and there was a sign in the window saying “closed due to illness”. No communication received via text, email or phone. Not good after travelling an hour to meet up.

A fabulous evening, expectations were high from reading the reviews, and thankfully we weren’t disappointed! It was a busy evening, my husbands birthday but we had wonderful service, nothing was too much trouble and the food was incredible!! Highly recommend a great find!

A cosy café tucked in a corner of a tiny village on the Chatsworth estate. This does not stop it being deservedly very popular so you need to book. Delicious hearty food of all kinds, using local ingredients and they have mouthwatering cakes.

Since their multi-million pound revamp, both the hotel and restaurants have gone from strength to strength. We had Sunday Lunch in the Gallery restaurant with friends, looking out at the snowy Derbyshire hills! Beautiful views all round. There are only four choices of starters, mains and puddings - but our beef and the salmon main courses were well-cooked and of very good quality. Many items are locally sourced too. Good and knowledgeable service too. While Gallery restaurant is more suited for adults, the lovely Terrace restaurant is more family-orientated and has a wider choice of food options. Easily ‘teamed’ with a pre-lunch visit either to Chatsworth House grounds or around the House itself in season. Go and enjoy.

Visited today for coffee and lunch with my husband and dog. We were shown to a table in the side room which is dog friendly and it was fine, if compact. We had a toasted sandwich and a normal sandwich. The bread was fresh, plenty of cheese filling but would have liked more ham too. Nice side salad to accompany the plates. However no salt or pepper on any of the tables and no-one asked if we wanted anything or how our meals were. Coffees were fine. What I don't understand is why a family of 4 without a dog were showed into the same area rather than the other side of the cafe, so it did get very claustrophobic.

This is a good spot. Very nicely decorated with lots of trendy touches. Friendly rustic feel and outstanding selection of beverages. Nice lunchtime menu. It’s not cheap and clearly aimed at an upmarket clientele. The bar area is very cosy and the main restaurant looks very stylish
