I was staying in a Hotel opposite and noticed this bakery. My addiction to sausage rolls got the better of me, the one purchased from here is up there with the best. Followed with a chocolate shortbread very nice. A good selection of cakes and pastries overall. After being a baker for 20 years i appreciate the time and effort put in to make such appetising products. Well worth a visit.

There was a micro pub here called walton dam nation. My understanding is that that place and this place have joined forces and are now called Maggie Mays - there is a trip advisor listing for it under its new name.

Undeniably high quality food, and I'd say it's good value too. The duck starter was delicious, as was the pork main ( the crushed baked potato was amazing.) The scallop starter was ok,but I mostly had that to try something new. The steak was a bit of a let down , overdone in places and underdone in others and just not what we were expecting. Dessert was good, though the date and hazelnut pudding could have done with more sauce. If you order a coke, it will come in a 200ml bottle which is slightly annoying. Overall though, a fantastic meal and would definitely go back. If youre in the area it's absolutely worth a visit.

Travelled from Derby to visit this Micro pub, we were very disappointed, the exterior is to say the least shabby , not at all inviting. Beer price choice and quality was ok , what we did not appreciate was the television on at full throttle and a couple of the locals language would have maybe accepted in a rugby teams community bath but not in a small pub, why does the woman behind the bar accept this . My wife and I are not prudes but do not want to our conversation to be drowned out by morons.

After a family (14 adults) playing rounders and cricket in Graves Park, we returned to New Whittington very hungry. We rang the Golden Grill with the long list of individual food requirements and expected a long wait. We were surprised when just 45mins later it was delivered. No missing items from our long list and all the food was as just as good as when the order is just a couple of items. Well done Golden Grill you never fail to satisfy our hunger

3rd time trying happy house in the last 2 months, I didn't leave a review after my first order as I like to see how new places are after a couple of deliveries. Yes, it's a five star from us. Brilliant people to talk to over the phone, very helpful and they make lovely and safe gluten free dishes, my wife loves the gluten free version of szechuan chicken and egg fried rice. Awesome, absolutely awesome. Well done to the people that own it and cook the food. I cannot find a fault with anything and there aren't many Chinese places like this about now, the last one I remember being this good was in grassmoor in the 1990s.

When we first went in the smell of fat permeating the whole place almost put us off but we thought to at least try the drinks which were a especially bad. My wife's blue moon was very dirty looking flat and tasted 'funny' I had a rum and flat coke which neither of us finished and we weren't brave enough to try the food 🤷 The staff were friendly enough and offered us advice on somewhere else to eat though

Let me start with the positives, the staff, all very friendly and attentive they really were. Unfortunately for us that's where the positives ended, The decor too modern, how people bang on about a traditional style taverna I've no idea, far too crowded we were literally sat on top of the table next to us, I get they want to make money but it kills any idea if a romantic night out for two. Lastly and probably the most important, the ridiculously priced food (which in both mine and my wife's opinion was average) both dishes we ordered came with no sides no vegetables, rice, or even roast potatoes, my Stifado was just that in an earthware pot and at £26 it wasn't like it was cheap. My wife's meatballs we actually thought they'd sent out a starter portion, 4 meatballs sat on the smallest amount of rice with some tomato sauce, neither dishes could be forgiven by exquisite taste, because they just didn't have it. It's a shame as we love Greek food and we always go to one Sheffield on London Road, which is typical Greek, real Taverna atmosphere with mountains of food with the best taste. I'll not mention the name as I don't like to promote other restaurants in a review of another (if your interested you'll find it on Google). This will be our first and last visit for Odyssey.
