A very nice little cafe with great coffee and cakes. Its clean and well decorated. It has its own individual style. My only gripe was that the staff were very loud when talking to each other, to the point that there were times I could barely hear my friend I was sitting with.

Went on a Sunday with family. 3 of us had the roast beef dinner. Great portion with a variety of veg and home made Yorkshire pudding. It was probably one of the best roasts I've ever had. The other 2 family members had the beef burger, very generous portion, came with fries, a huge homemade onion ring and cowlslaw I shall definitely be having this on our next visit. 10/10 to the Cardwell, exceptional food, value for money the food is all homemade food. Can't wait to come back.

No food on sale even though it was advertised as being on sale.

I can't judge this based on a Hotel as I went in for food! There was a Classic car meeting (although not a classic car in sight) which spilled over into the main Bar area where we were eating, personally I enjoyed that it showed that there is a good community around the area and people have active life's enjoying hobbies together. So the Food! O went a bit off piece and ordered a Pizza and I am really glad I did! Had the Special Peppa pig.... Yes they really did make that joke on the specials board. But it was delicious and I also got some Onion rings and wow they were proper onion rings not Frozen tripe you might get else where. Had a couple of pints of Devon Craft Larger it's alright I guess but £6.30 a pint it's for sure not that nice! Oooo think my Pizza and onion rings came to about £18 that's great value! My Food gets a 10 the Atmosphere for me was a 10 beer 6 location is a bit of a odd one but if your passing it's well worth stopping in!

Brilliant pub

An absolute disappointment! My partner’s plate contained just two small cubes of chicken and lamb—what a joke! As for my lamb shank, it was utterly tasteless, accompanied by the tiniest portion of vegetables imaginable. The so-called roast potato was literally one cut in half, seemingly to give the illusion of more food. Honestly, I’ve had more satisfying portions from a microwave meal. Pretty poor effort overall.

First visit with six of us for my son’s birthday. Staff were great and food was lovely; best curry we’ve had for a long time. Staff were excellent and prices reasonable. Will definitely be going back for more. Thank you.

We found the Fox and Hounds to be the perfect country pub in a wonderful rural location with lovely welcoming owners. The food we ordered was delicious and clearly cooked with fresh, good quality ingredients. Prices were reasonable for the quality of the food. Highly recommended

Fabulous! Took seven 90+ year olds for afternoon tea and everyone had a wonderful time. The food was excellent and plentiful, freshly baked that day and a great variety. Non-stop tea as well. The staff were super-friendly and couldn't do enough for us. A special, memorable afternoon. Thank you to everyone at The Drawing Room XXX
