We haven't been in for about 5 years, but have started to pass by 3 or 4 times a week now. Popped in for a drink this evening and had a couple of drinks, plenty of locals for a Tuesday, friendly dogs and a lovely atmosphere. Definitely a regular pint on the way back from the stables.

Brilliant pub, proper "old traditional" Wolds pub in the heart of rural England. Immaculately refurbished freeh house with perfectly prepared beers and outstanding staff. Check for food availability, as it books really quickly. The level of finish of the pub has only increased since its new owners Paula & Ed' have bought it. I think accomodation is still available in the old stable annexes, and will no doubt be as high quality as the rest of the refurbishment. One of Leicestershire's best kept secrets - without a doubt 👍

Didn't go in, just sat outside eating my sandwich .. But it does look like a nice pub that does B&B, too, but I can't find any info on prices ..

It's ok, a bit small and work being carried out. Food was ok, spuds cold and veg hard but meat was nice. Good price for 2 people. Parking is a problem if a busy day. Seating not very good as locals like to make themselves heard. No menu, just 2 choices of meat for Sunday. Not for us.

Excellent local. Always well kept beer. Timothy Taylor, Bass on draft as well as interesting guest ales, in great condition. Sunny garden in summer; warm wood burner in winter. Clean, welcoming and friendly, including to the occasional dog. Classic village pub. Well worth a visit.

I looked in one evening this week and found it was being visited fpr refreshments by a large group of horse riders. It gave the pub a really 'villagey' feel so I added a couple of videos of the group leaving. The pub garden is well kept and is peaceful as the road adjacent is very quiet (bar the clattering of hooves as the horses left). There is a good range of ales and ciders to choose from and I look forward to trying the menu when I return with my family, I don't think I'll be disappointed

Really nice pub, good shade and beer garden which was dog friendly. A good spot to stop and have a pint on a long dog walk.

Lovely pub, great ale, and the most wonderful staff. Zoe and Mark are the best pub operators we know and they work tirelessly to look after their customers and staff. Our favourite pub. First time in for months due to work circumstances, still a great pub with great hospitality, only wish we could get in more often.

The pan fried hake with linguini was delicious. The cherry bakewell panacota was excellent as well. 30/7/2024 - seabass with prawns and mussels linguini. Very nice. 23/11/2024 - rum infused custard was excellent. Went very well with the crumble that I wasn't going to have......
