The best restaurants in England

I eat her every week, and always the Beef Brisket Noodles in Soup. It’s something I look forward to every Tuesday or Friday.

Food was excellent, and despite being busy we were served quickly by friendly staff. Would have liked a chocolate option on the pudding menu but this is my only (very minor) critique. A little gem.

I recently stayed here with my mum. The staff were fantastic and so kind to us. We had a function there the next day and the food provided was excellent. I would definitely recommend.

Simply JJs Allerthorpe Golf Club. This has been our daughter's wedding weekend. She married locally, and a number of our family guests stayed in the lodges. As a very central location for all our guests who were all staying in the area, we asked JJs if they could provide a buffet brunch for our close friends and family the morning after the wedding itself - just to prolong the party for a bit longer! JJs did this for us, providing the most wonderful cooked brunch for 41 of us, allowing us all to 'eat out' on our marvellous day. Great food, great atmosphere, great service. Thank you so very, very much.

Very poor quality of food and level of service for the price.

Had the most amazing Sunday Roast and desert here. Perfectly cooked and the right amount of food. The desert was equally as good and you can really tell there is a lot of effort put into it all. Well done everyone at the Fox you have certainly raised the bar , nowhere in Tamworth has a patch on you. Keep it up we’ll most definitely be returning .

The venue was great unfortunately the ladies toilet let it down, nice place to drink with good selection of beers

Great place if you like sport or if you like outdoor gardens weather permitting don't do food

The food was ok for the first time ever, not very tasty but ok, I knew this so I backed it up with a very garlicy side. Portions were ok too, previously they'd been small portions. Out of 8 of us, 6 had coke, we all agreed it was flat and despite the fact it had ice in it, it wasn't any kind of cold. When ordering I asked if the coke came from a bottle, (It's not my first rodeo here, and not my choice of location for the outing). He said yes, o I asked if he could open a fresh bottle. He either clearly didn't, or the bottles were cheap out of date ones. When we ALL mentioned it, all we got was "Oh, it shouldn't be flat" when you could clearly see no bubbles in any drink. This might not seem a big deal, but for one glass of coke each for 6 people, it's nearly £30!!!! An absolute waste of money, almost on par with the non existent Customer Service. As a chilli head, I ordered a Vindaloo and got a very disappointing dish that wasn't even Madras hot, and once again, this fell of deaf ears.

Had a lovely couple of portions of dirty fries between my partner and me. Great service with a smile. Good pint and welcomed us in with the pram

Didn't stay there, I'm staying locally. Tried to book a table for Sunday roast but was told that they no longer serve meals. Also their website shows a menu and no mention of food no longer being served. We did stay for a drink and the atmosphere was friendly. It is a child and dog friendly pub.

Traditional family run chip shop cooking their food in beef dripping. Really tasty!! I've been here many times, and it's been consistently good. They care about the quality of the food they serve you, and you can taste it. It's my favorite chippy in Nottingham.

Waited 45 minutes to receive lukewarm food. It was gone off prawns which tasted funny. Threw up the whole lot. Don't understand the good reviews when the place is a health hazard. Avoid.
