The barmaid Hannah was the most perfect person I would have chosen to serve me while I was in the wheatsheaf. Hannah’s service behind the bar was absolutely outstanding always has a smile on her face and welcomes in new or regular customers. She’s a breath of fresh air and it’s always lovely seeing her behind the bar.

Booked The Wheatsheaf For My Sisters Babyshower, From The very first phonecall right up to to leaving after the event, Managment could not have gone more above and beyond To Help Make the occasion be as special as it could be, Kind and Considerate And Nothing was too much. Atmosphere Was Amazing, A Lovely Little cosy Area for functions, Away from the majority of customers for privacy. Food was fabulous Low Price for high Quality Absolutly Delicious. Thankyou For Your wonderful Hospitality It Could not be appreciated More :) Would highly reccomend.

This is the third time we’ve visited The Westsheaf for a family pub lunch. As usual the staff and management were friendly and welcoming. Natasha always makes a fuss of our daughter. Hats off to Mike in the kitchen, the food was amazing AGAIN! We ordered the pepperoni pizza, it was huge and delicious! The double bacon and cheese burger was probably one of the best I’ve had, so tasty and fresh. The other favourite we always order is the southern fried loaded fries….again, absolute winner!! The atmosphere is great, nice and chilled, good music and never any drama or issues. We’re more than comfortable bringing our child into the pub. We will be regulars from now on!

Proper boss family pub! Clean and relaxed atmosphere. The best burgers iv ever had!! Food on 12-8pm 7 days a week. 2 outdoor seating areas, one at the front and one out the back. Theres a room called the snug with its own tv and fire place which sits around 8 people and can be reserved if you wanna be out but still have your own space and as the name suggests its cozy and snug. Dog friendly, even has treats at the bar. Has live music and karaoke nights, big TVs that show all the live sports, footy, boxing, racing etc party's and other fun days.. speak to Natasha the landlady if you want to find out what's coming up. I deffo recommend this place 👌

Yesterday myself, my partner and best friend went to The Wheatsheaf and had a wonderful time! The food was incredible and really exceeded our expectations, the menu is affordable and delicious, and the staff service is wonderful! We all chose the cheese and bacon burger and it was so juicy and bursting with flavours, accompanied with fresh skin on fries and a homemade dip, all for £11-12! The portion sizes are generous and the team are happy to accommodate to dietary requirements or preferences, we had one of the burgers without cheese and it was no issue at all! The Wheatsheaf has small details that stands apart from other pubs, as simple as the coke being poured directly into a coke glass, you can see the pride of the team and the importance of maintaining a high standard. Natasha was so friendly and bubbly, she made us feel very welcome and relaxed in this homely, family friendly pub, it was lovely to sit in the outdoor seating area and be surrounded by people of all ages! The Wheatsheaf is guaranteed a visit from us again!!

We watched the semi-finals here and enjoyed it. Going there again tonight for the finals!

Came to complete some work here today. New owners Natasha and Mike took control a few weeks ago... These guys were great hosts... Very friendly... Thank you 👍 The Pub is looking very bright and clean with a very large TV showing live sports , it also offers Darts and a secluded beer garden to the rear.

Called in after an afternoon at the hospital . Small menu but excellent quality - really lovely food. Everyone very pleasant. Highly recommend. I don’t usually enjoy burgers but the quality of the chicken was brilliant.

Called in tonight with my brother for a pint and food and couldn’t have had a nicer welcome. Natasha made us feel at home food was great and the pint was better thanks again.

Esta es nuestra primera visita a The Wheatshief, pero no será la última! Vinimos a tomar una copa y un poco de almuerzo con los niños y terminamos quedándonos por unas horas. El personal y el servicio eran geniales, muy amables y eficientes. Había un montón para elegir en los menús de bebidas y comida. La comida llegó muy rápido y era muy sabroso ... . sin mencionar porciones muy buenas! Gran ambiente, pub y las instalaciones estaban muy limpias también! Gran visita, bien deffo volver!

Visiting the hospital and found this lovely little pub across the road. The food was absolutely beautiful and the atmosphere was warm and friendly. Definitely a little hidden gem .

Great place to go, we visited a few times whilst our daughter was in hospital for a long period. Menu has recently changed, staff/management are very welcoming and always asked how are daughters health was.

Under new management & it has a new lease of life. Tasha the manager is so warm, friendly & welcoming. The quality of the drinks is excellent. Will definitely be returning, there is plenty of entertainment planned & will be returning to enjoy this lovely pub. Excited to try their food menu too!

Absolutely shocking. Ordered the burger was told there is no burgers in stock. Tried to order onion rings said none in stock. Proceeded the rest of the night watching other people be served onion rings. Portions was Rubbish. Got about 6 chips with my food. Burger was mediocre small salsa portion. I would have felt ripped off if it was 7 quid but it was 11.99 for a portion that looked like a kids meal! Overall 4/10 The gf got the haddock and chips Small fish portion and also barely any chips. Tartar sauce was mediocre and the fish was bad made her feel sick. Overall 4/10 Desserts: because we was literally still starving we ordered two desserts each to make up for the lack of portion on the mains. Waiter came out and looked at us both and was shocked we was ordering 4 desserts to the table which made us feel awkward. Chocolate brownie: 8/10 good sized well prepared Chocolate munchies sundae: 0/10. Literally just a bowl of whip cream. Whatever ice cream may have once been in there was fully liquid when it was served being sat on the side in the kitchen for a long time. Common sense would be to make that last so it’s not melted. I paid 5 pound for a bowl of whip cream Waffles: almost good enough to make me not annoyed with how shocking everything else was. 10/10. Massive portion, delicious flavour and fresh! Overall: 5/10 experience only because the brownie and waffles were good if I ever came back it would not be for the food

Nice friendly pub - went in to watch a football game, got two drinks and some food (halloumi dirty fries). Staff were nice food and drinks reasonably priced. Would go again

Busy as we arrived but found seat and a menu, food was good quality and hot, fish and chips was nice and hunters chicken good too but wish they would serve it on plates not wood plinth and a mini pan as its impossible to eat off. no long waits. No real ale but good Guinness. Friendly but perhaps not as much as expected as other reviews. All clean and comfortable. Would return to eat if in area.

Refurbished pub, directly opposite main entrance to Alder Hey The interior has managed to keep a homeliness to it and thankfully this hasn't been turned into a high Street clone, place still oozes character, thanks to the little rooms each with a different vibe. Occasional live music on which is a bonus, all sports are shown across all rooms. Outside heated seating area, at front of the pub, (so it overlooks the main road). Friendly and attentive staff Beers well kept and presented well Prices very competitive Toilets clean

Nice little boozer next to Sainsbury's on Prescot Road. Give your Mrs your bankcard to go shopping while you have a pint. Nice place to watch the match too. Screens are visible from all angles. Foods good too. Decent outdoor seating area aswell. Worth a stop.

Unfortunately real ale not on at the moment hence the revised score. Shame at one point BC (Before Covid) they had 3 on regularly.

Poor selection of draft beers. Food is very hit and miss, several times we've gone for dinner and there hasn't been a chef available.

It's a good pub but having one vegan option prevents me from going sometimes.

Great pub for the area but just the lounge area as been turned into a restaurant, with candles and table cloth! Don't get it. Can't sit in there now as you need to order food. Its a pub and just do pub food without the table service, table cloth and it will be fine. Trying to be something else than a pub!!

Absolutely love it here we have been in alder hey with r baby having a few ops n stuff so we come over here for a quiet one and the bar woman Rachael is absolutely lovely she’s a diamond she works really hard makes sure the customers are all happy and she’s always got a smile on her face i really recommend this pub To anyone who goes past it’s boss

Great pubs are made by great hosts. Rachel and Phil are a perfect example of this. Nothing is too much trouble for them and the work they have put in creating a good atmosphere (and a spotlessly clean and welcoming environment) deserves to be recognised. This is a brilliant pub just for a few pints, to watch the match in or for a quick bite to eat. Friendly local crowd, really welcoming to occasional visitors and no nobheads. A lot to like - compliments to the management. 5 stars

New management again. Sunday Roast Dinner was a disappointment, prices slightly gone up and side orders are now £2.75 each but comes on your plate? Less stuff on your place and prices gone up. Missing from our dinner was. Mash. Stuffing. Cauliflower. Pigs in blankets. And only 4 roasties. Very disappointed. But will give them a chance to change things.
