Roski in Liverpool

Was a superb restaurant, I met Anto before he opened , he was in Liverpool looking for a location and found Rodney st .. unfortunately it has had to close , not sure why , it's a shame , I hope they sort out the staff if wages are owed, sad to see a nice place close times are difficult..much bigger restaurants than this have closed there doors. Hope the staff find jobs , Anton I hope you are ok , it's a tuff time ,

Appears to have closed but they haven't updated customers, no sign on door, voicemail on phone suggests still in business. Travelled a long way to meet friends here, booked the table months ago. Don't waste a trip

This was going to be my birthday treat last night. They took my boyfriend's credit card details and confirmed the booking. We travelled a long way for this. When we got there, they were shut! No phonecall, nor explanation. Nothing We rang at the time, straight to voicemail. I left messages this morning. Nothing. I am thoroughly disappointed and shocked how such a prestigious establishment can do this to their guests!

Sadly service let the experience down...as food was excellent. Booked here for a birthday meal for my partner, both of us adore our fine dining with both being in the industry, while the food was delicious the service left alot to be desired. We both don't drink, but needless to say don't expect to be left with empty glass and have to get someone's attention to order a drink, alongside the 30 min wait between most courses (which from observing was simply to tie our service in with another table for the ease for them...and not from a guest experience point of view). I didn't wish to complain at the time simply due to the embarrassment I had booked for my partners birthday. The additional 'birthday dessert' was a nice touch...but sadly this was brought out after our cheeseboard and as I had asked for the bill, guess we were forgotten again. The plus was the food was lovely, but did feel hungry but likely due to the long waits and near 4 hours for meal start to finish.

I went for dinner by myself on a Wednesday night; it was quiet but not empty, there were three other tables occupied. I had the tasting menu with the accompanying wines. I honestly cannot fault any aspect of the evening. The welcome, ambience, service, timings, technical quality and creativity of the food, choice of wines, explanation of the food and wine, overall quantity of food and wine, cleanliness and decor were all second to none. The whole experience was equal to any I've had, including some of the best restaurants in the country. It wasn't cheap, obviously, but I've paid more for less satisfactory meals elsewhere. Strongly recommended.

Second vist to Röski and it didn't disappoint. Friendly staff, beautiful surroundings and fabulous food, what more can I say... compliments again to Anton, Ash, Daria and the whole team. I read a review about the bathroom being disgusting I've added a photo as I thought the bathroom was very clean and tidy .

After waiting to experience Roski for a long time, I was very excited to finally visit on Friday night. We had some absolutely fantastic food but unfortunately, Roski fell short on price and service. Food: the menu was creative and really amazing quality, some of the best food I’ve eaten in Liverpool Drinks: we started with two glasses of Prosecco which appeared to be in plastic flutes(?) not what you expect from such a premium price, followed with a bottle of Chateau Margot - which was delicious and served by a very friendly and knowledgable sommelier. We finished with a glass of Sauternes to enjoy with dessert. Service: Far too often, our wine glasses were empty. A very easy fix - something we shouldn’t need to chase. Courses 1-3 arrived promptly but 4 & 5 seemed to take an age, despite chasing. When we did chase, we were met with “are you in a hurry?” Of course, we just told them we were hungry!! When the bill arrived, we could see a 12% service charge was added - we were toying with the option of asking to remove the service but the food was great and we don’t like any confrontation so decided to pay in full but offer feedback. I advised the waitress who took payment that we had a lovely meal, but the final 2 courses seemed to take a long time - we asked if there had been trouble in the kitchen and mentioned we had been in the restaurant for over 3 hours. She just said, “it does say this on the website” - can confirm I checked, and it doesn’t. Why lie? Price: We’re happy to pay money for fantastic food but a £400 bill for two people was excessive.

We ate there last night. Ash (front of house / sommelier) very knowledgable with every food course and wine selection. We didnt wine pair but others did his rappour with customers is very welcome. Waiter / waitresses very polite and effiecent. Food several courses over 3 hours every course explained in detail. Cheese board 9 in total with a great selection of condiments. Food / drink there wasnt anything that you could complain about. 2 tiny complaints toilet seats not dirty just very badly faded. Not a great look to be honest. And serving quality food on chipped crockery not ideal. 10/10

Came here for a special occasion as never been and looked great. We really liked the look of the menu. The food, when it did eventually arrive, was wonderful. The wines paired with the meal were different and well thought out. The main issue was how slow everything was. I know it was likely done to enjoy the evening but there were a few times we’d finished our wines before the meal even arrived! Even getting the bread out at the start took an age. Our fav course was the scallop and the dessert! We did have a pleasant evening and the staff were really nice. But not sure I’d rush back.

Food was brilliant. It just took a while to get to us! Not sure if it was done deliberately but each course seemed to take an age to get to us.

Very nice restaurant in Liverpool, the menu was carefully and intelligently created with seasonal ingredients. Ashley as floor manager did an incredible job, I felt really welcome and he has a great food and wine culture and likes sharing the passion. The food was really good. There is a lot of creativity going on in each dish. The first star is really not far. I had a blast on the asparagus; that is a winner. The dessert was also out of this world. Probably some dishes need a little balancing to get to the consecration. The beef tartare is amazing with a great concept and dressing with the meat hidden behind the lettuce, but the seasoning masks the meat flavour a little too much. Great combination however. Same for the scallop, love the idea, the cooking could have shown more control on the temperature and more balance in terms of flavour to truly appreciate the sea food (spices and broth taking over). Small details overall, this has been a great experience and the place comes highly recommended. +Bonus point for the music played in the background (Depeche Mode, Dead or Alive, Eurythmics) awesome!

The staff were exceptionally attentive and provided excellent service throughout the meal. The food was delicious, be prepared for very generous portions!

Awful - avoid at all cost. Pace of service was too slow and after complaining we were threatened by the chef and some of the other staff. They then charged our credit card for the full meal even though we only had about half of the food.

Really enjoyed the tasting menu and accompanying wines. The staff are a delight, knowledgeable about what they are serving and very pleasant. The food was delicious and beautifully presented. Lovely decor. All 5 of us enjoyed every aspect of our visit.

Oh, this place is divine. An absolute gem tucked away in Liverpool. It's small, almost a hole in the wall type feel, but that quickly lifts with the impressive service of knowledgeable staff. The menu tasting is very impressive, locally sourced and changes frequently. Highly recommend for a cozy yet elevated experience.

Just had the set lunch here. £35pp and we both ate what we would have been happy paying £50pp for. Absolutely outstanding food in a lovely restaurant just on the edge of the centre. The team were amazing.

Our favourite Liverpool restaurant. Have been many times, indeed the first restaurant we visited as we came out of the first lockdown post pandemic, was Roski. We visited today and saw several subtle changes to the menu, but the same exceptional food on the tasting menu, beautiful wines recommended by Ash and a better than ever cheese board. We started with a sour cherry negroni, the excellent fresh bread with a trio of beautiful butters - the 'always' Marmite butter, an amazing Duck dripping butter and Southport Whey. Highlights included the English Asparagus, Pea/Ham Hock and the wonderful stuffed Chicken Breast. The Banofee Pie and Banana Shot were sublime, and we were really impressed with the enhanced cheese board - 9 excellent cheeses with quince, chutney, apple slices and crackers. A true return to form for us, and still the best restaurant in Liverpool...

Wonderful tasting menu yesterday! The monkfish with curried lamb mince rice was wonderful. The beef fillet with bone marrow was outstanding. Great service and perfect wine matching. Thank you!

It opened in 2017 and with an eight-course tasting menu like no other we have ever come across. We say that, as the offering is amazing value for the amount of dishes that are served. You also have the option to add an extra main course of Sirloin and a British cheese course. Now, if you were to choose these,all we can say is you must have hollow legs. The evening begins with two types of bread served with butters accompanied by a tasty broth and a mornay in a ceramic egg shell. Onto the next course, which takes some beating and possibly an early favourite. Hidden under a blanket of wasabi marinated lettuce a succulent wagyu tartare. On the other plate, a lobster doughnut,yes, that's right. A doughnut filled with lobster and a tail on the side. The procession of exquisite dishes just keeps arriving at the table. A fresh sea trout with blood orange. Miso Glazed Stone Bass under a nest of Mung Bean Noodles. First of the meat dishes was a lamb rump. Followed by a five spiced duck breast,Slow Braised Leg,Foie Gras Crumpets. Desserts was a selection of Yorkshire Forced Rhubarb, Malt Loaf French Toast amongst other sweet delights. We finished off the meal with Coffee & Petits Fours at an incredible price of £5 pp. A great evening was had, and the staff were friendly and welcoming whilst disco classics playing in the background. Words are not enough to describe this classy, modern, full of calmness place. Very innovative and impressive style of a restaurant. Simply amazing. From the people, to the food, and from the space to the food presentation everything is simple fabulous.

We visited on 30/12/23, and had fabulous evening. So relaxing! Ash, the sommelier was just top notch, as were all the staff. The food was amazing and the pairing wine was just as good too. Would highly recommend here, you definitely get what you pay for!

Dined in on 12/27. We had a great experience and enjoyed the attentive service we got from the staff. The start dish in the tasting menu in our opinion was a delicate cod with curry sauce. We also loved the add-on cheese course. Please disregard Mrs. O’Neill review. The staff didn’t encourage anyone to heckle her. Diners asked her to leave because of her demeanor and unjustified and loud berating of the staff which interrupted our dinners as well. She voiced her negative opinion several times throughout dinner as well to which the staff apologized many times that she was not enjoying her food. Everyone is entitled to their own opinion, but trying to get comped a meal by acting rude to staff was not the way to handle it.

I’ve eaten in a lot of nice, fine dining establishments. Although Röski presents itself as this, I’m afraid the quality of the food just isn’t work the price tag. I was extremely, extremely disappointed to pay more than £250 a head for the full menu and drinks pairing (with water and a cocktail to start). I’ve paid half as much and had meals that were twice as good. As a result, I’ve given a one star review. Save your money and go elsewhere.

No atmosphere. Bad, overpriced food. Terrible service. To top it off... when I told the staff that the food and service was bad, they were further rude still and encouraged their customers to heckle me. Wow... wish I'd gone to mackies instead. What a nightmare. And they charged us £300 for the privilege!

Really below-par food. Was really looking to eating here... it was the worst meal I've had in years... the service was bad too. Don't bother.

Although this restaurant is well established as one of Liverpools great restaurants with the allocades to back it up, we had not visted before. It didn't take long for us to rue the fact we are late to the scene. This place is truely a culinary gem, back up with oustanding service a wonderful wine list of quality and variety. It can take a while to get a table if you want peak times, take a tip, just get a table whenever you can, it's that good.

The cute quaint looking restaurant adds to the overall experience. We had the taster menu and it was just delicious and plenty of food. I have been spoilt since travelling France and experiencing their fantastic food and always felt the Uk falls short with quality and attention to detail, most places just can’t hit it or get it right. I was super surprised to see the lunch menu at a fantastic price, next time we will be trying this. I also noticed the respect and relationship the manager/waiters had with the chef, this was lovely an made the experience more intimate and like staff cared, wanted to be there and were passionate about their job. Lunch yesterday at Roski. Wow! Amazing. Food was delicious 😍 Loved every minute. ♥️ Staff were amazing and so knowledgeable about the food and especially the wine. Allow enough time to just relax and enjoy! Recommend the wine flight. Ready to visit again, ASAP.

As a regular diner in Liverpool, Roski has to be my favourite. The food is amazing made with love and passion and I implore you all to make a booking! I guarantee at least one dish will remain in your mind as unique and delicious. For me it’s the red cabbage bolognaise. Don’t judge until you have tasted !! I could go on and on but I would prefer you to go and experience a beautiful meal with an intimate ambience and a welcome which makes you feel very special. Our chefs need our support as Liverpool continues to lead the way in fine dining . By the way they have a great lunch menu too!

I can't describe it is wonderful

Vist with my husband recently and we were blown away by the tasting menu. Each course was fantastic, and staff were attentive and friendly. Will definitely be back.

Fabulous experience. We hadn’t been in a couple of years but came back for a special occasion and were treated to a spectacular meal. The cabbage bolognaise was our highlight!

Not as good as previous visits unfortunately... We visited on a Saturday afternoon and went for the lunch menu which is still exceptional value at £36 per person. The first two courses and the service were as pleasant and professional as any time before but there were elements of our interactions that just didn't feel like a restaurant mentioned in the Michelin guide - I won't point fingers, but it wasn't as slick or welcoming as previous experiences. I've probably reviewed Roski 3 or 4 times over the years and it's always been 5 stars, but not this time sadly. There was no explanation of the cheeses in the cheese course, not in their origin, their make up or their strength, and most of which were overpowered by the paired wine. The portion size for two people was absolutely miniscule. I should point out that I'm more than aware there Roski experience is not one of volume, so we're not expecting large swathes of cheese, but there is a balance to be struck...

Fabulous afternoon great company and amazing food. Greeted by Diana and Daria on arrival made to feel valued and welcome. Soon met Ash the knowledgeable and enthusiastic manager. Who explained every course and the wine to accompany each dish ... nothing was too much trouble and I would definitely recommend Roski and will hopefully be back one day. Compliments to Anton and his team.

Visited Roski for the second time and again everything was outstanding. Dined with my Mum who had never experienced a tasting menu before. She was in her element. It's hard to say what we enjoyed the most as every single course was amazing. All of the staff were friendly and attentive throughout. The wine pairings with each course matched perfectly. A wonderful evening at the end of our holiday trip here in Liverpool at the Röski Restaurant. The food was excellent and had an impressive variety and was accompanied by really nice, exceptional and matching wines. 😋😋😋 Many thanks to the lovely, friendly and courteous service, which we really enjoyed. 💕 Thank you very much for allowing us to bring our little dog 🐕 with us, we were really happy about that. We will look back fondly on this wonderful evening.

This place is as best if not better, than ever Michelin star restaurant I have visited. We booked this for my birthday after visiting the city for two nights! Atmosphere, staff and the food we all on par! Will definitely be visiting again and have already recommended to friends!

DO NOT DINE HERE! Horrible service, mediocre food and disgusting attitudes from management. Also not worthy of a Michelin Star. The bathroom was filthy - can’t imagine what the kitchen looks like…

We boked the fixed menu lunch, really good. Fine wine to match the excellent food. Staff were very knowledgeable and friendly. Highly recommended.

Had such a great evening here. The place is quite intimate so had a lovely atmosphere. It was quite quiet when we got there (19:00) but soon got busier, even when it was nearly full the tables didn't feel on top of each other and we were able to have conversation. The food was exceptional, each course so intricately made with the most delicious flavours. They catered for my dietaries perfectly. The sommelier (Ash) was wonderful! Really lovely, very knowledgeable, and served us some beautiful wines.

Over in Liverpool for our son’s graduation and we wanted to celebrate in style. Perhaps the most enjoyable meal we’ve had ever!! From the initial welcoming until we finally left the staff ensured we knew exactly what to expect with their friendly and knowledgeable narratives on every aspect of each dish. A truly holistic dining experience that was enhanced immeasurably by a superb drinks pairing option. Probably a little more expensive than we would usually pay but we’ll worth it. Marmite butter and pasties…. When you go, you’ll know.

We booked for our special sapphire wedding anniversary having read about this restaurant in the Telegraph recently. It did not disappoint us and we will remember the experience for a very long time......not quite as long as another sapphire 45 years unless we live to be 105 + The food was unbelievable, the ambience very relaxing and the staff were so knowledgeable welcoming and reassuring.

Absolutely fabulous service with very attentive Dianna and Ash but whilst the food was lovely, I just found it very wintery for a summer menu. Very heavy dishes with repetitive ingredients started to become a bit boring towards the end and as much as I wanted to love it, I just couldn't. The £150 extra for wine pairings again was met with reasonable but not staggering selections where the phrase of the night was "cutting through" rather than complimenting or balancing etc and after having had some astonishing choices of drinks from Jorro in Sheffield, I really felt that little effort was put into this. As much as this was enjoyable, it was also disappointing and felt that the £425 price tag didn't reflect value for money. Unfortunate.

Two couples dined here during Eurovision weekend and our experience was exceptional. Attentive, knowledgeable, friendly staff. Great ambience (loved the Liverpool playlist). The Express tasting menu we felt was great value and offered just the right amount of food for a leisurely lunch. Each course was exciting and packed a punch with flavour. Relaxed fine dining at its best.

In general, excellent, but some poor cooking. Tasty nibbles of bread, marmite butter, mushroom tea, haggis bonbon and chorizo were all excellent and packed with flavour. I wanted more black pudding with the asparagus that followed but it was a lovely dish tied together with celeriac puree. The tomato with burrata dish was imaginative and delicious. The bream dish that followed had an excellent tomato consomme but the bream was very overcooked. If you want to get that level of crisp onto one side of a fragment of fish you better have enough flesh on the other side of it to support that amount of cooking. This had the texture like a crisp with some cotton wool attached. Not pleasant. The scallop dish that followed was absolute perfection. The cuisson was superb (still a touch translucent in the middle) but the dish was made by the curried shrimp and samphire tempura. What a plate of food. Duck followed, overcooked again. Strawberry festival to finish was delicious. The wine pairings were intelligent and entirely appropriate with each course. Excellent choices. Service was never less than excellent and friendly. Cheese board was superb. Coffee was excellent as were the petit four. The hazelnut praline choc was really delicious. The trouble with tasting menus is that it's really really difficult to maintain excellence through 17 named elements of food. Go here, try it, you'll find so much to like and lots of excellent aspects...at this price though, it all needs to be excellent.

Everything about this restaurant is just 5*. The restaurant ambience, the attentive, friendly service and the absolutely stunning food. Worth a two hour drive from Solihull! Lucky Liverpool.

This place is literally my favourite restaurant in Liverpool! I have been there a few times and the food never disappointed but my absolute favourite thing about it is the staff. Everyone is really lovely and funny! What an absolute gem!

Absolutely adored our evening spent there. Excellent menu selections, fantastic service, and a lovely seating room. You expect it to be a bit stuffy as the prices, the menu, and the room exude class. And then the staff start to open up to you and you laugh as heartily as you dine. Fantastic evening overall. We miss you already.

Very overpriced Food was poor I went here for my birthday with my husband and a couple of friends. Firstly they came out with bread and butter with some Parma ham. When they say pigs n blankets. It was a miniature hot dog deep fried. We paid extra for the steak when was £45 per head. Was so salty. This has been by far the worst tasting taster menu we have tried. Our bill came to £747 for four people. We didn’t even order a bottle of wine or have the wine pairing. Just a couple of glasses of wine. Am not one to really complain, but this time I had to.

Had the Christmas tasting menu with wine flight. Amazing food, great service...highlights were the Pig in Blanket, Turkey Schnitzel an absolutely outstanding Brill dish. And the fresh baked Sourdough with Onion butter was just about the best bread ever. Highly recommended this excellent little spot, with a big personality.

Roski is an outstanding fine dining restaurant. The food is imaginative, superbly cooked and beautifully presented. There is an extensive wine list but with very few wines under £40. The tasting menu, as to be expected, is pricey but a great experience. The downside is the size of the eating area which is small and the playing of music which is intrusive and unnecessary. This is a place which should encourage conversation and the appreciation of great food.

Excellent service, very attentive waiting staff which is helped by it being a smaller restaurant which gives it more of a personal feel. The food was good, very interesting combinations of flavours within dishes and a good range of styles. However the flavours were masked by the overwhelming salt taste.

I felt the small 4 dish lunch menu at 55 pound was very overpriced. The same menu is 20 pound cheaper the week but by virture of it being a Saturday they see fit to increase the price. While some dishes were lovely others could have been consumed in a spoonfull and were disappointing. Extra bread was needed to fill a considerable hole. Granted we purchased a 30 quid bottle of wine but the meal came to around 170 pound. Not worth it.

Yet again amazing from start to finish. Worth every penny! Incredible customer service. One of our top 5 favourite restaurants in the UK

Me and my partner visited and were there for about 4 hours and had to leave a little early to avoid missing our last train to Manchester!! The time passed smoothly and I felt completely at ease throughout the entire duration of the experience. The service was outstanding and the staff were willing to discuss any questions regarding the food and wine that was very articulately introduced. The restaurant did however keep a relaxed and casual feeling despite the obvious professionalism required to deliver such an excellent experience. Highly recommended!

One of the best meals I have ever had. We all agreed it was food at its finest. I know £85 is a lot for many people but I honestly don’t know how they managed 7 such amazing courses for that price. Superb Roski - We will be back! The vodka martini and espresso martinis were divine too

My husband was given a gift voucher for his retirement. We visited today. Lovely staff, so friendly & attentive. The food wasn’t for me though. Too nouveau. The Longhorn beef was nearly raw, so my husband ate it. Only one potato on the plate. Very small portions for the price. The Handyman ale was lovely though!

At the moment, everyone dining here in the evening is on the tasting menu. Arriving early, the music mix is a bit intrusive, but fades into the background as the restaurant fills. Staff are attentive without being too intrusive, and the sommelier's presentation was nicely judged. I don't generally like Marmite, but the sourdough with Marmite butter is lovely, and they happily replenished it throughout the meal. The first couple of dishes (the chef's take on carbonara and an asparagus dish with curried salad cream) and the pre-dessert/dessert were the highlights of the meal. The flavour balance and textures were fantastic. On the fish dishes, the stone bass was a bit lacking in flavour while the scallop (which was huge) dish was overpowered by the broth. The main of rabbit was nicely done, being moist and I particularly enjoyed the nugget and ragout. Having ordered coffee, we were also presented with petit fours. Overall, an accomplished meal, but a little uneven in parts.

Cancelled our reservation last minute and ruined our birthday plans - told they will call back to rearrange but not heard anything

Don’t go to this restaurant at all cost, I no longer could make the reservation and gave 24hrs notice I couldn’t make it, cause of my circumstances changed and they charged me £100 for not going

I would not hesitate to recommend Röski to others. I cannot praise this restaurant too highly. My sister and I went for lunch and enjoyed the tasting menu. The food was outstanding and all the staff members were extremely friendly and professional. We will definately be returning.

This is without a doubt the best meal I've ever had. The menu was superb. Every dish was delicious from start to finish. The depth of flavour in the courses was second to none. The food was complimented by the wonderful service. The staff were knowledgeable and happy to help. Special mention to the sommelier who answered all our questions and showed his passion for the wine throughout. It's definitely a place for a special occasion. The full tasting menu and wine pairing was expensive but well worth it. Fantastic experience from start to finish.
