Good food with good service...our go to place when we visit Chesterfield

Great retro environment, lovely staff and excellent food. Just had lovely Welsh Rarebit and a pot of tea. Very tasty.

The staff was amazing so kind and perlite.

Didn't have food only drinks staff very friendly. Bar only just open it was very clean atmosphere very friendly. drinks good price was there about two to three hours had a very nice time. would go back again

We visited today for afternoon tea in celebration of a small baby shower. The tea rooms itself and decor is beautiful, staff were friendly and the afternoon tea served was delicious. We were sat in the main area at the back and it was perfect. Definitely recommend you give this place a try. Thanks so much for having us. I’ll definitely be back for lunch one day.

I have previously enjoyed my meal at the tea rooms however on this occasion the downstairs area was busy so the hostess directed us upstairs to a dark room with no lights on. Very unwelcoming. On returning downstairs I find the hostess seating people who were behind us(not on a reserved table). Felt totally unwelcome. Won't be bothering again.

Sorry! Didn't do it for me. Cake was a little dry and for me the place is just too big and open, lacking that cozy warm feeling I like in a cafe (especially as we got seated towards back). Service was good, but we won't be back and will return to Number 10!

A busy cafe in town centre. Just had coffee, which was good and reasonably priced.

Another visit to this excellent tea room, today I had soup and the sandwiche, fantastic, I can recommend the cakes, everything is so nice save some space for the cake 🎂 & the cherry scones

I visited with a friend for coffee and cake. Quite a nice little place, which was quiet and a pleasant place to sit and chat out of the deeply cold weather on the day.

I visited today for breakfast for the first time and unfortunately won't be returning. I went for the eggs benedict and when it came out with a salad I was a little surprised but that was fine however my food was stone Cold and then I found not one but two hairs ( looked like eyelashes in my egg) very disappointing.

Just a quick snack before we go out for tea later. Service quick and efficient. Sandwiches fresh and presented lovely. Coffee and tea excellent. 5* from us, we will return for cream tea.

Visited for first time yesterday and overall disappointing. My bacon sandwich not very hot and fat on bacon no where near being crispy. Bread squidgy . My wife s cheese and onion quiche very bland. Do not like having to pay upfront before having tasted the food. Will not be returning based on this experience

Another great find to relax and enjoy some cake and a hot drink , great breakfast and brunch menu if you can get in before lunch , otherwise after I’d recommend going upstairs , it’s nice and chilled , the staff are always lovely

Great little place to stop and chill. Great tea and coffee options, plenty of tea and Great lunch type food and cake as well as afternoon teas. Its busy, reservation recommended otherwise you can be waiting 10-15 mins. Toilet downstairs.

Had our wedding reception here last week and I’m so glad we chose The Vintage Tea Rooms. The room was decorated beautifully, the food was great as was the service. Really lovely, relaxed atmosphere. We had a lovely time, as did our guests. It was everything we wished for and more. Would definitely recommend. 5 ⭐️

Lovely cakes! There are so many to choose from, although a bit pricey . Lovely tea, too, and great service.

My favourite tea room in Chesterfield. Coming back for the second time and I ordered the half English all day breakfast with a pot of tea 🫖 the portion size was just right. All items were cooked through and the presentation was well thought out. The crockery was lovely and the little extra biscuit that came with the tea was a nice touch! Thoroughly enjoyed it 😀

1st time .. staff lovely . They were dressed vintage .. maybe a bit of vintage background music .. lovely .. defo recommend will defo be back .. . omg 😲..... scones are delicious ..

The staff are rude, obnoxious and abrupt. Not what the place use to be, seems like it's had a high turnover in staff since I last wt in September.

After being recommended by a work colleague at the company i work for, which is based 40 miles away from Chesterfield. I dropped in on a midday week for lunch. The soup, toastie and cake were all absolutely amazing. Excellently priced, well portioned and loads of flavour. The staff were attentative and very polite. If you are visiting the area. You have to go. Well done ladies. Keep up the amazing work.

My daughter booked us in for afternoon tea for Saturday 25th March 2023. The staff were friendly, polite and helpful. I am dairy free and they managed to source alternative products so I could enjoy the experience. Food tasted great and the service was quick, we didn't have to wait long for food or drinks. Decor is really nice and inviting also. Would definitely recommend 🙂

My husband and I came on Sunday and both had the soup with a sandwich - both delicious. Staff were friendly and attentive. Definitely a place we'll be visiting regularly.

We visited here yesterday after a very poor experience at another establishment in chesterfield. My partner is coeliac so being met with a menu to include gluten free items is amazing. We had two afternoon teas, one of which was gluten free... However my partner didnt want sandwiches so they obliged in just giving me two lots of normal sandwiches. The tea was lovely, the crockery was beautiful with no chips or cracks. The cherry scone I had was superb. We will definitely visit again, thankyou so much

A good choise of teas, nice toasted teacake.

It's very expensive and the toasties cut your mouth to shreds (how DO they turn bread into serrated steel?!) The cakes are nice but one slice is far too large for one person, why no smaller slices at smaller prices?! Hard bum-numbing seats and only one loo for the whole cafe (there's never not a queue). Food is over priced and fussy.

My friends and I went today for afternoon tea. I was really looking forward to it but I have to say I am bitterly disappointed. The lady who served us was pleasant enough but I felt like she didn't have the time for us and rushed through our order to the pint where actually the cake order itself was wrong when it arrived. Our booking was for 1.30pm and when we gave our order of afternoon tea we were told there was only one cheese scone left and the rest were cherry ones, which was fine for me but there was two in our group that don't like cherries. I mean what!? It was only 1.30pm surely they have an idea of how many scones are needed in a day!!!! To top it all off we saved what we thought was the best till last.....the cake. Once again disappointment. We have a variety of different slices between us and ALL of them were dry and tasteless. I won't be returning to the vintage tea room. It was so much better when we went for afternoon tea when it was down on beetwell Street. What a change of location can do ey?

This is a very lovely place. The menu caters for a wide range of tastes. The service and the environment were excellent. A great find. Compliments to the staff and management

Christmas Afternoon Tea was lovely. Only criticism I would prefer a cafetiere that holds more than one cup of coffee so as not to keep asking the staff. No problem with a price increase to cover this.

We called in on Sunday the 13 Nov with family and my little granddaughter it's a lovely welcoming place, it's full of interesting things and a lovely cup of coffee I didn't eat but the cake looked devine highly recommended very cosy.

Went for lunch with my friend, they do an all say breakfast which was lovely, cream tea's and some beautiful cakes .

My partner and I have been in twice each time the Coffee was far too strong they don't listen to what you order at all and suggested we go for half a shot in an Americano as one shot was still like Treacle, in reality they ignored our request for one shot and still put two in!

Friendly staff. Scones were fresh but a bit bitter. Overall nice experience!

Lovely vegetarian breakfast, great staff

My friends are locals and so took me here for a pleasant brunch. I chose the Eggs Florentine and had it with a very fruity tea- I think it was Rosehip & Hibiscus. Service was good. The cakes on display looked absolutely delicious, but I had a train to catch. Otherwise, I’d have most likely got involved!

Excellent cake , friendly service. We visited the vintage tearooms today and had a lovely cake with tea and soft drinks. We had the window seat to watch the world go by and enjoyed the delicious cake. The team were so friendly and helpful, it was a true pleasure to visit.

Daughter took me for afternoon tea for my birthday. It was lovely, staff very friendly and explained everything well. The food was fresh an filling.

OK nice setting but you pay in advance for your food & drink prior to been served which is a tad strange for a independent cafe setting 🤔 feels abit untrusting, can understand it in a very busy corporate setting but independent your general clientèle seems unnecessary but each to there own

Lovely cup of tea and a nice scone with jam and cream, a tad expensive but I suppose you pay for the surroundings.

Definitely picked the wrong cake. Raspberry and white chocolate. Dry. One burnt raspberry in the corner. White chocolate just a drizzle on top. Should have gone for the carrot cake.

Amazing breakfast, top quality food. Amazing price too 👏 If you're out for breakfast, and want something a lot better than a wetherspoon brekky. For a similar price too! Also beer and other drinks available
