Fantastic food, excellent friendly service. Highly recommend this restaurant. One negative point it does not have wheelchair access.i had to be carried in and wheelchair had to be folded so it would go thru the very narrow entrance.

We arrived late and were pushed for time owing to a theatre booking which we explained to Hope who assured us we would be served promptly. What followed was the best steak I’ve had in years and a fantastic chicken Thermidor two glasses of excellent wine all served promptly but beautifully prepared which allowed us to enjoy them unhurried. Thanks to Hope and all the guys behind the scenes for helping us experience a fabulous day . You deserve all the success in the world.

We went last night for a baby shower from Ashgate house the moment we walked in we was greeted by Kai he was well mannered an couldn’t do enough for us he helped us do the ballon’s played music we wanted took a million photos lol over all that man is a gem thank u Kai

Lombardis is always friendly, vibrant, and busy (which is a good sign!) It's a family owned business, and it shows in the service and in the freshly prepared and delicious food. This restaurant is mine & my husband's go-to, but an its equally good choice for families, and our son loves it here, too. Thank you to Hope for always making us feel so welcome and for looking after us so well.

Very surprised at the presence of a whole VEGAN menu. I had pizze calzone, others had garlic bread, sautéed mushrooms, and pasta. We finished with a chocolate tart with vanilla ice cream. Very impressed.

Over 2 and a half hours for starters and mains, at no point did anyone check how the food was, also had to take a wonder downstairs to ask someone if someone could take our drinks order, service was terrible won't be returning

We had a table booked on a saturday night at 20:45, we arrived and were seated in the bar area whilst our table was prepped as it was extremely busy. This place is very popular which is a reflection of its quality. The staff were extremely welcoming and helpful even though they were clearly working very hard to keep customers happy, the food was great, very high quality

Been to plenty of Italian restaurants and this is certainly one of the finest and most authentic. Service was first class, Antonio I believe his name was, he was very attentive without being overbearing. He was very kind and memorable. Food was clearly made with high quality ingredients that represented Italy in its finest form, food was fairly priced compared to the top quality we received. Wine was cold, which seems like a normal thing but sometimes it can come warm, not in this case, perfect temperature. Atmosphere was really nice, it's not often I feel the need to take photos of the decor and surrounding areas but this place was truly unique and eye catching, whilst being very home like. Perfect balance. Overall I am very impressed and if I return to Chesterfield again I will surely visit this spot. Please give it a go, Antonio truly deserves all the business. Highly recommend.

Went Saturday night, it was really busy. The food was delicious. Only negative, we were on a table near the bar, so we kept getting knocked. Then customers would just take the menu for drinks off our table as we were eating. Staff were friendly, food delicious.

Highly recommended, came here for my wife’s birthday with my son, although the restaurant was full with people waiting for tables, staff where friendly, attentive and got us to our table shortly after our reservation. Food came out in a reasonable time, well sized portions and competitively priced. Will be coming again.

I had a meal here while staying with family in Chesterfield. Although it was a Friday evening and we were a larger group, the staff were very attentive and professional. We had a great conversation with a couple of the younger men who were very knowledgeable despite their age and seemed to be putting in the majority of the work, we had a Positive experience, and the food tasted brilliant. Will return.

We had a great meal here when we were in Chesterfield. The staff were very friendly and attentive and the food was very good. We had Moules Mariniere to start and various olives and bread and for main was pizza and pasta, all which was very nice. Would definitely recommend and would go back if in the area again

My family and I were unfortunately pretty disappointed with our recent visit to Lombardis. Firstly, our reservation was evidently ‘lost’ as we were sat in what was effectively the bar area. This room had 0 atmosphere (as it was empty) and was cold. Bare in mind this was for a birthday, this was extremely poor service. It was a mixed bag with the staff. I thought the lady hosting was quite nice and so one of the young men. The rest of the staff were quite abrupt and not personable whatsoever. Food was bang average. The quality reminded me of large chain food. It also seems like somewhere that has had the same menu forever and it needs updating. I had fillet steak which was £40. The steak itself was cooked great and presented well. However the steak wasn’t tender nor was the taste that good. The peppercorn sauce curdled badly and was of really poor quality. I can’t fathom why it was served with carrots, broccoli and 3 tiny undercooked potatoes - this does not go!! For £40 it was the biggest rip off I’ve ever seen. Luckily my sister liked her pasta dish which was a good job as it was her birthday. We left feeling pretty deflated looking forwarded to going home to have more of a birthday celebration which is wrong. There are nearby Italians which are better and unfortunately I’m not sure I’d ever go back.

Antonio welcomed us without a reservation. He spent time running through the menu and gave us a delicious Barolo recommendation. Ordered pizza (the crust is superb) and the seafood linguini. Delicious. This is a gem in Chesterfield.

Very disappointed. Booked a table for 6 people for my wife’s birthday, arrived early to be told our table had been given away because whilst at work I missed a confirmation call. I was never told when I made the reservation that I would be second guessed by someone hours before the reservation and would lose the table if I didn’t answer a call. Lombardis policy apparently. Don’t aggravate yourself with their throw a six to start booking system, go elsewhere. Casa hotel were very welcoming and we had a great time there instead.

Hi we visited as a couple and this was our second visit, the food was excellent, the service was 1st class and the surroundings are beautiful. It is reasonable priced and nothing is too much trouble, will definitely return.

Our family of 12 went on Saturday night for my husband's 70th birthday and the food and service was excellent. The guitarist sang happy birthday to my husband and made sure that the grandchildren joined in. Great place to go for a special occasion

Just a fabulous experience. Delicious bruschetta & pizza. Great quality ingredients treated with obvious love & care. The staff couldn't have been more friendly & welcoming. I'm so glad we booked ahead - the place was buzzing on a Friday evening. If we're over this way again we'll definitely be back! Thanks everyone 🎉

Me and my partner have been here a few times now and thoroughly enjoyed it every time. The food is absolutely incredible, the staff are so attentive and can't do enough for you, even when they're busy. The atmosphere is lovely and the restaurant is beautifully decorated. This is definitely going to be our new favourite restaurant.

First time here, came for my wife's birthday. Lovely food & great service. When they found out it was my wife's birthday, one of the staff played on his guitar & sang happy birthday to her. A very.nice gesture. Will be back.

Average Italian.... Had a few hiccups with drinks orders, but when you don't write them down, it's always going to happen... A bit pricey, to be honest... £9.00 for garlic bread.... 🤔 Hmmm...

Called in on speck restaurant was fully booked. Staff were soo good managed to find us a table at the bar. Our grandson after a hard days training with chesterfield fc was starving. They didn’t disappoint! The food was amazing best Italian we’d been to in a long time. Just wanted to say thank you. We’ll be back!! 👍

Had a lovely vegetarian meal (Crespelle). We sat upstairs, which was very nice and actually preferable to downstairs, which is always very noisy.

Food was lovely, big portion sizes for the price, drinks also reasonably priced. Food was brought over fairly quickly, but rather slow bringing drinks. It was a busy Friday evening so this wasn't an issue.

An experience to remember. The place is tastefully decorated and well laid out. The staff are great and knowledgeable. The food was amazing and tasted great. Will want to go back if given the chance.

Have been many times previously so was looking forward to an enjoyable birthday celebration. It turned out to be an underwhelming experience. We were in the “new” extension. Crammed in with too many other diners, sat on top shuffling chair backs…I suspect the number of covers is now too much for the size of kitchen. The service was off, food delivery disjointed and worst of all the pizza was dreadful. It had clearly been cooked and left. The base was tough, chewy and impossible to cut through with the knife. Very disappointing. If you want customers to look for an alternative venue you top it off by charging them £4.50 for a lime and soda. It was not value for money.

WOW. Lombardis is on another level now, we visited lasted Saturday and I can honestly say we have never had a better experience! The specials board was so innovative and full of flavour, all or table mentioned how the ingredients were well married and put together. The service was attentive from Christina and her team. Tip! Try the smoked burrata with orange and walnuts!! It’s world class.

Booked a table for 830pm. Yet again it was being occupied by the previous customers and you’re made to wait in the bar area. My partner and I got through nearly a litre of red wine before the table was ready. There seems to be no time cap on reservations meaning if you want to sit there for 2hrs after you’ve eaten and relax then you can. That’s not a problem, but don’t confirm further bookings that then need to wait. V v poor. Staff as always were very warm and welcoming, not their fault more a management issue. We won’t be returning.

First time visiting and this little restaurant is a gem. Beautiful food and great service.

The presentation and service was good, however the food was not great, the flavors didn't work that well together - the starter was too sweet and way overpowered the Brie, the main I couldn't manage more than 1 ravioli into before it was too much, the flavor was so mismatched that it was giving me a headache - the sauce around it was beautiful but the ravioli filling was the issue. They were kind enough to remove this from my bill and I ordered a pizza in the end which was also not very enjoyable. I ordered a merlot and it tasted like vinegar which I'd expect from a cheap place, but not for how much I was charged for a medium glass. Overall for the price of this place I unfortunately wouldn't consider returning. I

We rang more or less last minute and were able to have a table for four mid week in mid Sep although the place was busy. The food was amazing. Two of us had the salmon and prawn tagliatelle, which we recommend. We were also serenaded by guitar for our two birthdays with a candle in our desserts!

Authentic family run Italian restaurant in the centre of town. Loved it so much we're going back tomorrow night!

We visited this restaurant on a Tuesday at the end of August while staying at the Premier Inn Chesterfield town centre, just over a couple of roads across the Donut roundabout, approx 4 min walk away. We booked a table which was a good decision as it was really busy for a Tuesday evening ! The decor is modern & the atmosphere buzzing. The staff were friendly and polite. My husband and I shared a garlic bread with tomato for a starter which was a lovely & light pizza base. I enjoyed my lasagne, it was authentic & piping hot. My husband was a bit confused by his calzone pizza, he didn't expect it to have bolognaise sauce, chicken & pepperoni inside it & bolognaise on the top, he's used to having ham, mushrooms, pepperoni etc, he felt it was a strange mixture & wished he'd ordered a normal pizza instead as these looked excellent. We enjoyed our meal, it seems a family run restaurant & very popular. We would return if in Chesterfield again, just my husband wouldn't order the calzone.

I always love coming to Lombardies. It always feels like I'm on holiday in Italy when we visit. A true authentic experience with really charismatic and attentive staff. Oh and the food is always fantastic too! Looking forwards to my next visit!

Maybe we were just unlucky, but we waited more than half an hour for our order to be taken, more than an hour for our starters, and a full 1 hr 40 minutes for our mains to arrive, and they arrived lukewarm! Staff constantly asked us if we wanted more drinks but seemed unable to take a food order. Tbh if we would have just left if we could have guaranteed that somewhere else was available. Won't be going back.

Not interested, no sense of humour or personality!!we waited SO long for him throughout it was embarrassing! We eventually asked a younger chap for the bill! He was super efficient! A fantastic traditional Italian restaurant with great food and a good atmosphere.

First visit to this Italian restaurant and we were very impressed with the service and food. It was for my birthday, and Antonio kindly played his guitar at our table, which made my night very special. We shall definitely visit again for an authentic Italian meal.

Great place to go for any occasion. We went for a months birthday. They can cater from single diners to largw groups. Keep an eye out for the owner serinaiding tables with happy birthday. Cant recommend enough.

Meal for my girlfriend’s birthday. Booked well in advance. Waited a while to be seated. Took a while to get our order once seated. Asked for a dessert menu which didn’t arrive. Had to ask for the bill twice. I think the restaurant needed more staff rather than poor staff quality, we were treated very nice by the staff we spoke to. A man played happy birthday on the guitar which was very nice and I really appreciated. Food was excellent. Would recommend and would come again.

The best pasta I've had, and I've been to Italy quite a few times. Try the linguine alla scoglio. It's delicious. Waiting staff were excellent too.

Don’t take this as a hate comment, I’ll only state my true opinions on my experience here. First things first, we had a reservation for 8:45, but we were only seated around 25 minutes later. It then took another 40 minutes or so for food to be served. That being said, I understand that it may be hard to predict how long it takes for the previous customers to finish their food, so that’s fine. We however didn’t appreciate the crowded area that we were told to wait in, since I do feel bad for the employees and others who were trying to get through. This is one of the more important issues I’d like to address - the racism we experienced from one of the staff members, an older man possibly a manager, but that’s beside the point. I understand that it may be somewhat rare to have a large group of asian-looking people dining there, but that doesn’t justify much in my opinion. We were asked/told things such as “which one of you speaks english?” “Where are you from? Oh london? No no, I’m asking where you’re from” “I know your people like to.. (insert stereotype)” “Are you speaking Chinese, Japanese, or English (while we were ordering)”, that really isn’t okay. I fully get that most of my family members don’t have great English compared to us teens with a developed “british” accent from growing up in London (where we clearly stated we were from), but it was comprehensible to say the least. They may think that they were being “friendly”, but that really is a type of racism, not to mention it was uncomfortable and awkward when he leaned in. It didn’t help that he came out with a guitar, stood next to us teenagers at the table, and started playing stereotypical “tik-tok chinese” songs on it. They were all clearly annoyed, since we did specify that we are NOT chinese, nor are we from China. The random “arigato”s (japanese) and “xiexie”s (Chinese) were really off putting too. We did not find that acceptable at any point, and I really thought that ruined the experience, and truly sharpened my understanding of the racism we are vulnerable to once we leave diverse cities such as London. That aside, the food was great. The pizza was flavourful, and the lasagna was nicely made. It’s just a shame that the act of one person had kind of ruined the overall experience, but I’m hoping you’ll see this and realise that maybe your idea of “friendly” was quite offensive and you’d now have a better understand of how we feel as the receiving end of things. Once again, no hate to this restaurant, the younger staff were rather helpful and friendly. Even the guitar playing at neighbouring tables brought up a lively atmosphere, just not the part where the stereotypical songs were played next to our table. Still, it pains me to know a few of us are scarred for life, not in a dramatic way unfortunately. Perks to them for having great food though, I’m sure it’ll be a great 5-star worthy place to dine once the racism part is all sorted out.

Racism to people is not okay, do better and get it sorted.
