We came across this gem of a little cafe on our walk through the nature reserve. On a cold windy morning it was just the right place and time for a warming coffee and snack.
Surprisingly it was quite busy being on the outskirts of Bude. There appeared to be quite a few locals in having breakfast, which look really delicious and very good portions. Probably those who were also out early taking a walk in what is quite a picturesque nature reserve.
Definitely one to get to, but it is a little of the beaten if you don't know the area.
Very underwhelming visit on Friday night.
We were met by guy behind bar in a very offhand way. Drinks order taken quickly and then food order. Starters were Luke warm, brushetta was burnt and soup bland.
Main courses again were Luke warm, garlic bread burnt round edges and covered in cheese. Pasta dishes lacking in taste and again only Luke warm.
Desserts were ok, but chocolate torte was more like chocolate mouse.
Waitresses were very good, but manager/owner totally disinterested, spent all night playing with calculator.
Delicious food and excellent, friendly service. We hadn’t booked a table and the restaurant was obviously getting quite busy on a Friday night but we were welcomed in and seated very quickly.

Amazing Sunday roast at the Square, perfectly cooked and had everything you could want! Our server Lilly was great! Made us feel right at home and was quick to get us settled!
Don't order the scampi. I contact them telling them that even though the scampi looked cooked on the outside, the fish inside was warm, not hot and the batter inside was not cooked through. We threw them away. Will not order from there again. Prices have gone up but quality is not the same. Its gone downhill unfortunately
We stopped off at The Rufford Arms on the A59 just south of Preston on way from Cairnryan ferry to Stafford motorcycle show on Friday for lunch. The rest of the gang were so impressed with the quality of both the food and the staff that we stopped for dinner on the way back . Any of the Fish dishes is highly recommended, as was the Sunday roast.
There was so much motorcycle talk over dinner that we talked ourselves into staying for breakfast, which again surpassed our expectations , after all, a cosy bed and a shower beats the campervan any day ! ! !
