What a hidden gem! Years since I've been and the beer was always good, but how it's changed & for the better! Great selection of beers at prices to surprise Leeds drinkers. Great atmosphere & loads of character. Went on a Friday, but intrigued by the regular events on Thursday and Sunday that get some surprising guests of music, literature & art to visit Pontefract. If you had told me when I was younger, I would never have believed you!

Excellent pub just off the centre of Pontefract. Great selection of beers and alcohol, marvellous beer garden.

Great pub, one of the few in ponte where music isn't needed for there to be an atmosphere. Highly recommended! I posted the top part a few years ago and the same is still true in 2024

Came for brunch today with family and it was delicious, the pancakes and French toast are incredible, lovely coffees and brilliant service and staff ❤️👌

Went up to the loft space for a CAT CLUB event. The music was unbelievable in smallish upfront & personal space. Drinks were a good price and the pub had a great atmosphere.

Great traditional pub with a lovely beer garden put the back.

Bit dark in here for me, but if that your thing you will love it. Probably inkeeping with the building to be fair but a little bit more illumination would be nice.

Visited the Pub for the first time 29/10/23 to attend a live music event upstairs in the attic which is the Cat Club. Michael Messer and Chaz Jankal did a fantastic acoustic set of songs. The Pub itself is a really lovely place inside with a great selection of beers and the staff are very welcoming and friendly to everyone. The Cat Club is great and the venue is very atmospheric, friendly and fun. The live sound is absolutely excellent. I would recommend this lovely pub and music venue to everyone who loves a proper pub and loves live music.

I called in today on my own with my little dog. I was made so welcome by the lovely couple. The customers too were very welcoming, even though I havent been in there for maybe 20 years. I would highly reccomend this quaint little pub and I will be sure to visit again. Thank you for making me feel welcome. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Great pub in the centre of Pontefract.

On arrival the landlord gave me a guided tour. Really nice regulars in a comfy setting, log fired in the winter months with a good selection of beers to choose from. There are live bands entertaining during each month with tastes for all kinds of music. Nice start to the night when visiting Ropergate or a snug afternoon tipple, definitely one to go to!

Absolutely spot on traditional pub. The landlord & his family are super welcoming. The atmosphere is spot on & they do so much for local community groups & charities. Highly recommended ✅

New landlord Lee is a lovely guy and a top class landlord , following in the previous guys (Dean) footsteps .

On a busy intersection but a nice beer 'garden' out back and good choice of hand pumped and draft ales

Lovely place and plenty of beer choices .quaint little rooms and candle lit. Very atmospheric. We'll worth a visit. Staff and people very friendly also.

Smashing pub, great range of real ales unfortunately no house beers. As a brewery as well a bit disappointed.

Brilliant beer/ale/cider selection.

They do not serve food, but it has a great atmosphere and it us very popular with people of all ages. Once a month they have entertainment upstairs in what is known as the CAT club. They also have a quiz once a week.

Nice place but drinks are a bit pricey. The bars on Ropergate run is cheaper

on a football match visit some 35 of us decended on the Robin Hood, what a great pub! 8 real ales couple of crafts and a selection of lagers. Staff we great handled us all brilliant and to top it off very good prices! Recommended visit!

Fantastic snug pub with plenty of atmosphere

Great little pub which is dog friendly. There's a great enclosed outdoor space at the rear and an open one to the side (overlooking the road but we'll maintained, with seating ang planting, which gives it a lovely feel - much nicer than the plain old wall that is now hidden from view).

Great atmosphere, and sat with a right character called David gawthorpe.

This is a great pub. I started going here after lockdown and I cannot believe I had never been before. If you sit round the back, it's like being in a pub abroad. If you sit inside, it's so cosy. You can also sit round the front and watch yhe world go by. We always go here when we go out now. I'd highly recommend.

Popped in with friends on Saturday. Ended up stopping three hours. Staff are friendly and helpful. Sat on the first floor near to a warm fire in a chilled environment. What more could you want. Would certainly recommend...
