This is my favourite fish and chip shop in Maidenhead. They are always welcoming and always friendly. Of course the food is great as well!

Lovely atmosphere, friendly faces & food has plenty of flavour! Jay also has the uncanny ability to remember our order when told once!

I went in there last week in a bit of a rush wanting to grab some food quickly. I walked in, ordered my cod and chips and less than 2 minutes later I'd paid and was outside with my food. Exceptional service and was very tasty as well!

I cannot say how accommodating the gentleman that took our order and delivered it himself was. The food was superb. Only just moved here, so we will definitely be eating from here again.

Superb once again, whole family love it here, including my son who chooses popcorn chicken and a samosa. We have the haddock which is fabulous and of course the chips are great too

I was on my way to london and needed some decent food before a night out, so google led me to Ross Fish bar. And i was not disappointed. Great Fish and Chips, friendly service. Chips were great, fish was great, mushy peas were great. Highly recommended, i will definately come again. Thanks guys

Hadn't been here for years and only went because my local fish and chip shop on a weekday night was really busy. Jay was still there , he is always friendly and is so organised , so you never wait long even if you need items cooked. I had a large cod and large chips with battered sausages , everything was piping hot and fresh , with lovely batter. Great to see that standards had not slipped , I'll be back !

There is something horrible happened to this place. I used to get many deliveries from them. What I experienced today 29th July 2023 was a joke! I ordered a large F&C for £13 and they didn’t deliver any more but only offer pick up. The guy in the counter was very rude and only asked for payment and gave me the order in this wrapped paper, without a bag or a box. I also saw a guy coming inside the kitchen from the back door where they prepare the food without any hygiene followed. By the time I went home the oil from this paper already stained my car seats. The chips was very soggy, old, tasteless, and crushed with the fish, which was very oily and tasteless as well. I binned all this right after. Shame!!

Visited Ross Fish Bar last Friday luch time. The proprietor was extremely pleasant and helpful and really enjoyed serving his customers. He explained that all the food is freshly cook whilst we waited. It was definitely worth the wait. Lovely tender fish and hot, crispy chips. The best I have had in a long time. I was given a peice of haddock which was dried up surrounded by a inedible amount of batter gave me the impression of being a day old. I have enjoyed it in the past but this is the second time i have been disappointed . Must insist on cooked to order. Never again

Just had a battered sau, saveloy and chips. The sausage was hard the chips were dry, obviously cooked earlier then left in a warmer

What absolute guff of a chip shop, got to be worse tasting chip shop in Maidenhead. Order Friday night 08/04/22. Kebab had wrong salad put in that asked for, only had to walk 3 mins to get to eat food and food was cold, kebab meat and pitta was cold, chips had no salt and vinegar on. No other words to describe this chip shop except guff. Don’t waste your money here go to another chip shop.

been eating here for months, great service and food, but today my sister found 8 bones in her gluten free fish, she was not impressed, hope that is a one-off otherwise dont think she be buying the fish again

Hands down; the best fish and chips in Maidenhead. Top quality takeaway food at very good prices. Friendly service. I've tried others and will never go anywhere else. It's great to see them doing amazingly well with all the delivery drivers, but personally nothing beats picking up your order over the counter. The only problem is it's so popular, it can take 20-30 minutes to get your order. But it is worth it every single time.

Absolutely amazing chippie. If you're looking for some really nice and quick take away then this is your place. The food is really good at great prices and also the owners are really nice. I would definitely go again when I am next in the area. I personally tasted the cod, chips and the donner kebab.

i got my first review wrong having only tried it once. jay the guy that serves is a lovely polite guy and nothing is too much trouble for him. hes very chatty and makes you feel like a friend after two visits. the food is lush at a very fair price. only chippy i use now. best in maidenhead. if you visit expect a wait cause they are so busy but they also deliver. top man jay.

Very busy and understandable slight delay due to being Good Friday but definitely worth the wait. Food was so beautifully cooked and fresh. All tasted wonderful. Friendly staff with a smile - despite them not having a minute to rest! Highly recommend.

Never had a bad meal from here. Fish is perfectly cooked and not too greasy and my children really like the kebabs. Enough menu choice to suit most people. The owner is really friendly and always makes an effort to chat to his customers.

Best chippy in Maidenhead. Lovely light batter, excellent portion size and freshly cooked! The family are all very friendly and are keen to offer help and advice. Love the Mums Curry Sauce which goes perfectly with my cod. If you're on the fence, don't be. This place is top notch.

Extremely disappointed today... we usually order from Ross fish bar every week and its always brilliant! But today the chips were awful, really hard for some reason and no flavour at all compared to how they usually are nice and tasty and crispy... its like they had been left all afternoon and then reheated tonight. Fish was very watery, thought it was frozen? Was all like warm aswell. Gutted as its uaully so good 😔

We've had a few meals from Ross, my daughter likes the 1/4 pound chicken burger they do and I usually have something different - the last time we went I had the mixed kebab which in truth was big enough for 2 (I think) and was lovely.Jay is always happy to chat even though he's busy doing orders for people there and through the delivery services too. We'll keep going back as the food hits the spot every time, it's easy to park outside and Jay makes it a pleasant visit.

Went here for takeaway whilst visiting the kids Grannie on Monday. The guy serving was lovely - asked how old the kids were so we knew how much to order and cooked the fish while we waited. You can order and use deliveroo which is great to know as we can send my MIL her dinner from here! The food was excellent quality and the amount perfect for our requirements. Highly recommend this place 👍
