Visited the restaurant while on an overnight stay. The Coach House is a relaxed venue with friendly, well trained staff.
Drinks were served to our table with impressive speed while we perused the menu. Service slowed from there - especially between starters and mains.
We enjoyed the beautifully presented beetroot and asparagus salad- and the wild garlic soup was well received though a small bread roll would have been welcome. The white pork T bone got a thumbs up but there were issues with the flat iron steak main course. The meat was well prepared and served medium - as ordered. However, it came with chopped lettuce leaves which masqueraded on the menu as a ‘house salad’. There was also a half of a medium sized griddled tomato and chips (fluffy and crisp) which had just as many ‘scrappy’ examples as there were ‘chunky’. Just a little extra on this plate would have made all the difference.
A further disappointment was the pan au chocolat bread and butter pudding which seemed to be void of the spices usually associated with such a dish and came with a really meagre quenelle of ice cream.
I can understand why this restaurant is popular but I feel there is a question mark over value for money.
Had an absolutely beautiful meal here tonight. It's a lovely restaurant. The staff are so welcoming, friendly and helpful.
The lamb vindaloo I had was perfection. The lamb just melted in the mouth and the sauce was absolutely full of flavour and the right ampunt of heat. Probably the best lamb vindaloo I've ever had.
Chips were fresh and crisps and the peshwari naan was light, fluffy and delicious.
Can't wait to come back for more - we don't live in Barton but it worth the journey for food this good!
Thank you so much
Top notch service

Had king prawn madras, with extras delivered
When opened the lid on Curry not secure so curry spilt in bag, on trying the curry and prawns the whole thing was atrocious, prawns like rubber and Madras curry more like flavoured water. I informed them I was not happy they wanted a photograph, not sure how you taste a prawn curry with a photograph. The manager has now been in contact and explained there was a problem and has sincerely apologised and given a full refund, I have accepted this and hopefully look forward to a better experience in the future.

This was the first place we stayed on our HIS definitive 9-day tour of the UK. It was a lovely hotel on a quiet lakeside with signs saying Private Lakeside all around. The staff were kind and the rooms and furnishings were calming and relaxing. There were guests staying with two large, intelligent, well-behaved dogs, which made me feel the difference from Japan. We slept soundly and comfortably, had a delicious breakfast, and left in high spirits.
