we paid £70 for four mains and one starter platter. meals were ok but not very hot. sauce was a bit runny and chicken was not breast meat

We had been wanting to eat here since we moved to Clacton 2 years ago. Last night on our way home from a trip to London I looked at the set menu shown on line and decided to try it. We arrived and ordered. Sorry but I have eaten at several Thai restaurants but this food was more Chinese than anything. Nothing contained the ingredients associated with Thai food. Really disappointed and I don’t think we will be eating here again.

We love every meal from Thai vintage restaurant, the flavours and quality are always brilliant. my only niggel is you have to buy cracker. our average spend is £50 surly that deserved a bag of crackers????

Delivery was very good. overall very disappointed with the food the chicken satay starter was the worst I've has very bland and Chicken rubbery. Same with meat in mains. Watery sauces.ok flavour Small portions so overall not good value for money

It's Sunday - my birthday - and despite only moving into this area on Thursday, I've been in here twice. The food is superb, the atmosphere authentic and welcoming and the staff are wonderful, really wonderful. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone without hesitation, an excellent find. I will be back... and not just to have the waitresses sing happy birthday to me.

Just returned from a family birthday meal. The food was tremendous and enjoyed by us all. The service and atmosphere was perfect and I personally would like to thank the lovely ladies who served us. I would definitely recommend this restaurant to all whether couples or families.

The portion sizes were very small for nearly 60 pound only fed two adults and 2 children,we had two sets of different noodles and they was very greasy

Outstanding service. Lovely warm and endearing setting. My husband and I enjoyed an intimate dinner and felt so well looked after. The food was delicious and presented with care and attention. This is a gem of a place and we will be back. 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

The food was exceptionally delicious, and the staff demonstrated remarkable attentiveness. The presentation of the dishes was visually appealing and carefully curated. If possible, I would rate the experience higher than five stars. The interior decorations were authentically Thai, adding to the ambiance. The food appeared to be crafted with care and passion. Food turned up late then when it did arrive it was socking worse meal I’ve ever had

stay away from this place. Ordered in through JustEatwhilst staying at Lifehouse hotel. Terrible food. Everything was super sweet, prawns were bland (possibly uncooked?) . Food was delivered 2 hours after placing an order. That’s not how you make Thai curry. This place is not authentic Thai food. Called the restaurant, they said “our standards are high so we know our food quality is good” Unsatisfying food. 0/5 if I could give it. Dishes we ordered 1) sticky rice -> bland no salt 2) steamed jasmine rice -> bland 0 salt 3) mixed starter -> felt like eating oil on each bite. Oh and did I mention awfully sweet veg spring rolls? 4) Gaeng Panang -> basically red water with cut up peppers. No flavour, just sweet water that looks like Thai curry. Prawns were bland.

I'd suggest booking a table before arriving just in case because they do fill up on the weekends. I have eaten here five times now and it's always been a great evening.

Food arrived cold, the prawn crackers were stale and received the incorrect dish. I used to really enjoy takeaways from here 😞

My group of 5 friends visited Saturday to celebrate our friend's 80th birthday. The restaurant has a lovely ambience and is so traditional. Our food was lovely, all hot, fresh and plentiful. Prices were very reasonable. Service was fantastic. The staff prepared the cake we got and surprised my friend and even gave her a little gift. Cannot fault anything and we all had a great time.

Always, always great food - same quality every time. Love it and will continue to order my Thai Green Curry and Jasmine Rice every time x

I have back-packed Thailand. It has been a decade since I have found food that was exceptional and authentic. The staff were delightful, attentive and accommodating to my family. They were exceptional and provided for vegans, vegetarians and children. Truly wonderful.

Truly authentic Thai cuisine in the region. Each dish is perfectly cooked. Staff are very polite and nice. The mango sticky rice is an absolute thumb-up. Nothing to complain. Highly recommend to anyone who likes Thai food.

Outstanding Dining Experience at Thai Vintage Restaurant My wife and I had the pleasure of dining at Thai Vintage Restaurant in Clacton-On-Sea on Tuesday, 27th August 2024, to celebrate our anniversary. We opted for the set menu for two, and from start to finish, the experience was nothing short of exceptional. The food was incredibly delicious, with every dish bursting with authentic Thai flavors. The variety and presentation of the dishes were impressive, and each course was a delightful blend of fresh ingredients and expertly balanced spices. It’s clear that the chefs at Thai Vintage have a deep understanding of traditional Thai cuisine. Beyond the food, what really stood out was the impeccable service. The staff were warm, welcoming, and attentive throughout our meal, making us feel truly valued as guests. They went above and beyond to ensure that our anniversary dinner was special, and their courtesy added to the overall wonderful experience.

Service always good but food is hit and miss ,some authentic dishes are not cooked to the full potential sometimes but if you are drunk it doesn’t matter ☺️.I have ordered on multiple occasions and will highly recommend to avoid on busy times .

I ordered chicken satay starter, disappointed for it to be reformed chicken rather than chicken breast. I dislike the texture, taste and look of reformed chicken. Chicken in the Pad Thai was the same. Would not order again for this fact.

Amazingly quick and delicious.

The flavour of the Thai massaman was brilliant however I could have spewed with the chicken they used. It was the cheapest of cheap chicken it was like rubber and let down a really good meal the pad thai flavour was OK but again the chicken was awful so the whole family couldn't eat a decent meal and I'm having to order another meal now that I shouldn't have to do

After reading the good reviews I thought I would order from here for the first time. now I wish I didn't, the food came 30 late, when it did the food was warm, the noodles were stuck together, the coating on the sweet and sour chicken was coming off, and was all soggy, the prawn toast was OK but the chilli sauce was quite vinegary and the duck didn't taste great either. so disappointed and not worth the money

Delivery instructions not followed, missing a main dish, satay chicken was floating in strange liquid, nuts in the curry but i had requested it without nuts. Overall not impressed!

The lunch meal at this restuarant is a great deal but the service is still impeccable. Went for lunch today to celebrate my daughters birthday and they made a real fuss of her - bringing out a candle surrounded by flowers and sweets and then a little gift and poem to take home. The food is outstanding, beautifully cooked and spiced.

For the first time ordering from the Thai vintage house my order was late, I tried ringing the restaurant and got no answer which was a disappointment. But then my order arrived and the service was excellent from the young lady who delivered it she even gave my an apology and a custom Thai bow which after which I felt no agreement upon the lateness of my delivery so whoever the lady was who was well dressed and very professional it cheered me up and I have no complaint whatsoever thank you

We came here for a family meal. The waitress was very kind and accommodating. The food was good but not amazing. A lot of it was very greasy. The lamb shank was probably the most delicious thing we ordered. Overall we had a lovely dinner but my biggest gripe was that the mango sticky rice dessert wasn’t fresh. The mango came straight out of a tin.

Lovely food reasonably priced. The lunch menu is great and very good value (around £13 per head at time of writing) from 12 - 2.30 if memory serves

Thai Vintage is without doubt our Favourite restaurant for miles. The food is phenomenal and the staff are so welcoming. I had birthday dinner here recently and the staff bought out a dessert with a candle and sang happy birthday! How lovely. In all the years of coming here, we have never once had a bad meal. Its a sensational place to eat.

I love this restaurant, I've been a few times with friends. Yesterday I went with a group of 13 people. Staff were so friendly and attentive, nothing was too much trouble. Food was lovely, piping hot and very, very tasty. We've already booked our Christmas get together here in December. I highly recommend!

This restaurant is our favourite Thai around our area. Staff are very friendly and dressed in traditional costume. Would recommend any time. Ambience is good with nice lighting. Food excellent Recommend red thai curry and *Khao Soi Kai special *(only in the summer months)

What a find! Thoroughly recommend trying the food here Intimate authentic and welcoming Traditional prayer gesture welcome Extensive and varied choice of traditional dishes. All presented with an eye on making attractive in the idea. The flavours were great and I wished I had the appetite to try more of the dishes on offer. Several different Pad dishes, curries and satay. I only wish I had a Thai restaurant as good as this near me. I'd be there at least once a month If you live near the Great Clacton gem and haven't been yet. Put it right!

Food,service,and atmosphere are all five star 🌟,

We visited on a Sunday evening and there were no customers. That's usually a sign that a restaurant isn't great. However, we entered into a cosy traditional setting as we were 2 hours from home and required halal options. The hostess was extremely hospitable and regularly checked up on us. We got our food in good time. We first ordered the mix starter for 2, served with a variety of sauces (which she asked about any allergies etc first). It was hot and tasty with 2 portions of every item. The mains were just perfect in flavour and portion. We ordered the sweet and sour fish and a stir fry. Pretty much all items allow you to choose your protein. It cost us £20ph which was excellent value for money.

Had a lovely meal here on Friday evening. The food was great, the service impeccable and atmosphere was ambient.

Despite have been coming to Clacton for a few years this was our first visit here food was excellent and could not have asked for better service can’t wait to go back.

Absolutely loved the dining experience at Thai Vintage Restaurant! We went for a family birthday celebration (8 guests), and the restaurant was very accommodating with the placement of the table to give us ample space. We were very warmly greeted, and the service was exceptional. They were very accommodating with the dietary requirements, and ensured the food was hot whenever we were ready for the next course. The food was amazing, and tasted very authentic. I will definitely go again, and thank you ever so much for making the celebrations very memorable.

Busy evening so delivery was delayed but great food

Three dishes of mainly water. Meat content was fatty. Arrived with no lids just a loose cling film. £30 for order requested a refund as was absolutely unedible to be told that I could have chosen to eat it so my refund was rejected! This was with photographs of the food sent. First and last time ordering here.

Lovely little place to eat, visited as a child, it has changed but still very nice. The owners and wait staff were incredibly lovely and accommodating.

The food was spectacular and the Presentation was beautiful! The staff was so pilot and very helpful! I honestly would recommend if you have never been, and you will not be disappointed.
