Excellent service with smile and great food. I think it's best Thai food in Harwich. Can't with for my next trip to Harwich to come and eat.

This restaurant is a hidden gem of a place. Our meal yesterday was delicious, probably the best Thai we have ever had (and we’ve had a few). Food was clearly freshly prepared and staff were attentive, but not overly so. Look forward to visiting again.

This place is 7/5 ....whoever you are , book here for your next meal out Wasn't sure what to order and Andy the front of house owner was very helpful. The chef (his wife) Pom came and gave food recommendations and it was all absolutely fantastic Can't speak highly enough about the food or the service. It's a true Thai home from home

We are regular visitors and think both the food and service are second to none. The food is full of authentic Thai flavours and is by far the best in the area. The staff are friendly and welcoming and the service is spot on, your never rushed, hence the need to book in advance.

Who would guess that Harwich has great Thai food? Really delicious, can easily compete anywhere. My pad Thai was on pas with what I had in Thailand itself.

My wife and I went after a few people had recommended to us ! Firstly wow, absolutely incredible food and wine. Had a mixed starter for 2 ! Superb the best starter I have had in a long time anywhere. Mains course continue and were just as fantastic, we tried a bottle of Thailand rose it was fantastic, the owner kindly gave us a taste of the white and red as well (next time we will be going for the white) If you haven’t been here it’s a must ! We will definitely be back

Found such a great Thai restaurant in Harwich on vacation. Wasn’t expecting what I ended up getting. Just a delightful wait staff and owner. Great to talk to. Managed to get me in last minute on a Friday night. Fantastic assortment of traditional and special Thai dishes. Great choices of wines and beer. Had a great starter of vegetable tempura with a sweet and spicy dip. Main of Crispy Beef and Egg Fried rice. All of it was excellent. Make sure to go when you’re here.

Gorgeous, tasty food. Caters for vegetarians and gluten free also. Staff were so attentive and polite! Couldn't fault anything, clearly very popular as you'll struggle getting a table- highly recommend booking way in advance!

Went here for a meal before catching the ferry and it was a very pleasant find. It's very popular so would recommend you book. The food was excellent and they have a good wine list. Service was good too.

Meal prior to a ferry across to The Netherlnads. Don't do Thai food, but do Thai food here. Squid starters to share, followed by a variety of mains....Mine was the crispy beef. Gorgeous. Service superb.

Here is a second review, a year after my wife wrote the first one after our first visit on June 9, 2023 (review by Ellen). We had already promised in 2023 that we would come back again. Now a year later we were on holiday in the UK again. On the way back to NL via Harwich, I tried to make a reservation 5 days in advance, but it turned out that they were full. After our explanation, they managed to accommodate us on June 7, 2024. And once again eating here was a wonderful and fantastic experience. We had already visited several Asian/Thai restaurants in 3 weeks in the UK (and last year in the Netherlands), but nowhere was Thai food this good. So good and freshly prepared and deliciously flavoured. And also top service. This really is a top restaurant that deserves the full 5 stars! We will definitely come again on our next visit to the UK.

Best Thai ever. We started off with Bathtub gin. Perfect selection of gins and tonics. For dinner, we had Geang Dang served with Phad Thai and Phad Prik Sood served with coconut rice. The flavors just blew us away. We went there for dinner on our last night before going back to the Netherlands. The staff was amazing. Friendly, helpful, and charming. We asked for recommendations, and we were amazed with the choices. The cook even came to our table. It was lovely to meet her and to be able to thank her for a great experience.

Really nice food. So far the best Thai we had in the UK. The curry is the best. Papaya salad, spicy but tasty.

We felt very comfortable in the cozy fireplace atmosphere and ate delicious curry. Fair prices. The children were happy to have ice cream on the house. Nice end to our little trip.

Had a really lovely dinner of Thai fish cakes followed by a green curry. Food was extremely fresh and really nicely presented, also delicious! Service was very personable and friendly. Was a solo diner and made to feel most welcome - whatever your group size do book as it’s rightly a very popular restaurant and you won’t want to be disappointed on arrival. Only embarrassment was I couldn’t leave a tip as I had no cash and missed the boat on the card machine - left what I had but will make amends next time.

Have been before, a total enjoyable experience, nice atmosphere,,good service, and great food. Look forward to coming again soon. Well done all.

Been going to Thai up at the Quay for years and it's still my favourite restaurant. I moved away from the town but always visit when I can because it's so good. Andy and the team provide customer service like no where else and go that extra step. Food is always of a high standard and has never been beaten at other Thai restaurants I've visited. Had my birthday there last week and they went the extra mile to fit us in and make it a special occasion! 5/5 👌🏻

We had tried a few times to get a table here and each time the resteruant was fully booked, yesterday we just popped in just after opening time and we found out why it's hard to get a table, the food here is brilliant. This is as good as any Thai food I have eaten anywhere in the world , flavours are clear and distinct , servings are a good size , the service and staff was welcoming and warm , great selection if drinks and a well thought out menu, best of all was the choice of vegan food , Andy the owner came over and said hello and I'd be be very happy to reccomend this Thai resteruant to any visitors to Harwich looking for a top quality meal at reasonable prices , do try and book ahead or roll the dice like we did . We had a pre cinema dinner , the owners kindly allowed us to squeeze in before a very busy evening.

As always, fantastic, AUTHENTIC Thai food, delicious, everything cooked fresh. No packets, they can adapt nearly all dishes. Attentive staff, nothing too much trouble. We were party of 6 plus baby in pram.

First visit to this fabulous restaurant last Friday (12 Jan 24). Food was sublime!! Looking forward to eating there again already. Coeliacs, vegans in fact everyone is very well catered for. Great place- I'd suggest to book ahead to secure a table; highly recommended :)

We unfortunately hadn't booked and they had a large party due in. However, they managed to squeeze in a table for us, but apologised that the food may be delayed, which wasn't a problem for us at all. However, we didn't have to wait too long at all and I have to say it was the best Thai food we have ever had. The hosts are very friendly and welcoming and nothing is too much trouble. Everything is cooked freshly to order and gorgeous!

We have been waiting to visit TUATQ for ages having heard great reports, and we were certainly not disappointed. From the moment we stepped through the door we were made very welcome by owner, Andy. And things just got better and better. Delicious, freshly prepared food created by the lovely Pom and expertly explained by the front of house team. We had a selection of dishes and each one was excellent. Can’t wait to visit again.

We booked this for my daughter Chloe’s birthday, the restaurant was stunning with a calming ambience, just like the Thai restaurants we visited on our holidays. The staff were friendly & welcoming, the food was amazing…. We had starters salt & pepper squid, tempura prawns, satay chicken & prawn toast. The tempura prawns were my choice… & oh my goodness it was tantalizingly good! My daughter asked for a doggy bag as she wanted to take them home, was gutted when she got to the car & realized she had left them behind!!! Thanks for an amazing celebratory birthday meal… we’ll definitely be back!!!

Went to celebrate my mums 75th birthday. We had a brilliant server called Pat who was amazing. Who also was very knowledgeable and helped us decide what was the best option to have. Food was amazing and they also presented my mum with a desert with a candle. Thank you for an amazing evening and amazing food and amazing service ❤️

The four of us were here very spontaneously in the restaurant today and received a very warm welcome. The food was very tasty, the service was very attentive.

A great Thai meal with friendly and attentive service. The spicing was not quite as hot as we were given to expect, but that is probably just a matter of personal taste. Highly recommended.

As a regular visitor to Dovercourt and Harwich at weekends I’ve been trying to get into this restaurant for years. This week I was there during the week and got in and it certainly lived up to it reputation. Food was exceptional and reasonably priced. Will be going back for sure

From the warmest of welcomes as you come through the door from the charming owner, to the excellent service from the friendly and attentive waiting staff to the most incredible Thai food we have ever eaten. Beautifully cooked and presented. Whether your going for a quiet meal or to celebrate a special occasion or birthday (as we did), you will not find a warmer welcome or better food. Best thai we have ever eaten. Visited from Devon for a 50th wedding anniversary. Prawn tempura Satay chicken Mushroom tempura Veg spring rolls egg noodles with mixed veg Chicken and cashew nuts venison red curry Vegetarian pad nam prik prow (insane) Such a shame we are so far away. As this would be a frequent visit. Then there is the host, Andy ....well what can we say. An absolute gent, so attentive but not over the top, and so warm and welcoming. He interacted with my 2 year old nephew which was great. I would highly recommend this restaurant if you are in the area.

Had such a great dinner here. Really kind owner, service staff all very friendly and knowledgable and the food was so delicious. Really accommodating with regards to vegan options, they will make most things on the menu veggie or vegan. Highlights were the coconut rice and the green curry, our friends loved the Tom yum soup and the penang curry. Great value for money and nice to see Thai wines on the menu which were surprisingly good. We will definitely be back!!

I had an amazing massaman curry full of flavour with an amazing texture. The egg fried rice was wonderful. It was all freshly made and the service was wonderful staff were lovely to chat to. We arrived the day before at opening time hoping to grab a table but they were fully booked and they said till Monday but the lovely staff member got us in before opening the next day.

If you want a Thai meal in Harwich visit this restaurant is a must. All staff are very welcoming, friendly and helpful, they all know about the food they serve and are passionate about it. We always have a couple of meals here. You won't regret visiting. You need to book

Hopped in at 6 pm without reservation. Pretty soon the place was filled up. Thom kha is always my first choice at a Thai restaurant and this version ticked all the boxes. I'm sure the presence of this restaurant in Harwich is good for the local economy. I'll take the ferry from NL to dine here again!

We have been here a good few times now! - They produce beautiful fresh food, lovely, homely setting with great hospitality - Andy front of house welcomes you & is very chilled & happy! making you feel comfortable... I'd also liked to mention our server Pat, who knows what you want to eat by asking the right questions (very knowledgeable!) - we went with the recommendations & it was spot on! An extra special mention to Pom, who really knows how to make each dish tasty! - it's a lovely restaurant. Highly recommended. – We shared a starter (Complimentary crackers & sauce beforehand), we ate(well it was too much for us!) had 2x mains, 1x Rice, 1x Noodles & drinks for the both of us was £60! very responsible for the quality & service!😉👍😉👍

The best Thai restaurant I've been to. Arguably one of the best restaurants I've been to. The welcome is one of the warmest and the service throughout is kind, friendly and knowledgeable. The menu is fantastic and the Thai food is authentic in taste and spice level. The staff are attentive, but not overly so. I can highly recommend this to anyone but would also say the vegetarian dishes are superb. My partner and I left feeling like we wanted to tell everyone about this little gem in Harwich! Thank you so much for a wonderful last day in the UK.

Thai up the Quay is such a little gem. As soon as you walk in, you're welcomed in like family. I have been numerous times over the years and everytime I go I'm never disappointed. The staff are hugely knowledgeable and are always there to make you time there enjoyable, from refilling your water glass, noticing my prosecco glass is empty and asking if I'd like another one. Every detail is noticed. The food is amazing. Freshly cooked there so if you don't do spicy like me they make it less spicy. When you go I can assure you, you won't be disappointed. Booking is hugely recommended.

Absolutely beautiful food. My Tom ka starter (which is my go-to in any Thai) was the best I have ever had. My lime-chilli seabass main was uniquely prepared and again tastier than any seabass I have had before. The young team serving us where professional, pleasant and knowledgeable. Tip: It is worth booking. We went on a Wednesday and it was full.
