The best restaurants in England

Travelling from Ireland to Stafford recently and had the pleasure of coming across the Rufford Arms. Myself and 3 others ate a beautifully presented and equally tasty evening meal. The Fish and chips was fresh, tasty and plentiful. A great menu to cater for all, even my sometimes hard to please son! Excellent value, service and everything was performed at a very high standard which is hard to get these days! So much so on our return journey we decided to stay over night here and enjoyed a beautiful Sunday roast beef diner. The rooms here are immaculate and come with modern TVs and all the mod cons you could expect. I would definitely stay again and recommend, excellent standards all round, excellent value, excellent food and service.

We had a a delightfully delicious lunch today at Juniper. The food was cooked to perfection for both of our meals with lovely flavours. We were so impressed we are looking forward to celebrating our Golden Wedding anniversary later on in the year with our family of foodies, but will obviously visit again before then. Particular favourite of mine was the pork belly which was tender and so tasty. It was nice to meet the talented chef at our table and Rob made our experience very comfortable with the right amount of welcome, service and information. A great introduction to this little gem. Thank you

Best pint of Guinness in Pontefract

Moaned at jameskaa1 for needing to use the toilet after a long journey. Wouldn't reheat his latte which went cold.

We go there everytime we stay in Dorchester. The best little place for breakfast. Can not fault it at all. All the staff are lovely and friendly.

We had the pleasure of enjoying breakfast at this charming little café. The food was excellent—fresh, flavorful, and clearly made with care. What really made the experience stand out was the friendly and welcoming owner, who went out of their way to make us feel at home The atmosphere was cozy and inviting, perfect for a relaxed morning meal. As an added bonus, there’s a lovely gift shop right next door, where we found a great selection of tasteful condiments and local treats to take home. A hidden gem that’s well worth a visit!

Great plaice (pun intended). Family business and it shows, welcoming, immaculate and most of all the food is everything you want from a fish bar.

I ordered a chicken shish plate for takeaway from Alex’s place, and it was absolutely delicious! The chicken was tender, juicy, and full of flavor. The seasoning was just right, and everything was fresh and well-prepared. Even as a takeaway, the meal was packed nicely and still tasted amazing. A special thanks to Nihat, the chef who made my food. He is polite, respectful, and truly dedicated to his work. You can tell he puts a lot of care into his cooking. I highly recommend this place for anyone who loves great Turkish food. I will definitely order again!

Overall, the food was lovely and the atmosphere was great. However, the service was not as great as I expected. Overall, the waiters were Inattentive and really lack of observation skills. Two customers who were seated just a minute before us, right beside our table, had already received their drinks and food by the time we were even asked if we’d like something to drink or if we were ready to order. When we did place our order, we requested a jug of water to share… it never came. We asked again when our meals arrived… still nothing. It was only after we had completely finished eating that we finally received the water we had asked for three times. Meanwhile, the customers next to us had already been served their second round of drinks. In the end, a rough 12.5% service charge was added to the bill. Had I noticed it on the receipt beforehand, I honestly wouldn’t have paid it. It’s such a shame to give it such a low rating as the food were great and able to watch the chefs cook really enhanced the flavours and you can truly see the effort they put into the food. However with the lack of service, it really ruins that experience. I would go back I think, but I’ll be expecting more:)

Best pub in Chorley with a great range of Real ales and fantastic butties. Normally music on Sunday around 6pm

Our women's group meet there every Wednesday morning for coffee and a natter. Food selection ok.
