Delicious food - so so tasty. Very friendly and welcoming to me my boyfriend and his guide dog. Thank you for a lovely meal. We live in Herts but may need to come back to Epping Forest and for a meal soon! Nice views overlooking the green space too. Thanks everyone.
Roast dinner was nice but my pink lamb was burnt. Not pink at all. And one carrot cut in half is not ideal either for £23… when I asked about my pink lamb. The waitress said “it’s lamb”
Great meat indeed, tender and cooked exactly as it was asked.
I didn't see the reason to serve sweet potatoes at one sterling more than normal potatoes when the cost at the market is the same.
Wine selection is not in line with the expectations of the meat. The Malbec we took was definitely not the best I've tasted in my life.
Thankfully, they regained points with the alternative "Dulce de leche" cheesecake.
Came here around a year before and the food was awful, but we came back due to it being a family birthday dinner, and the location was chosen by someone else so I was hopefull it might be better.
Well it was worse.
A group of 10+ people on a long table that would make anyone feel claustrophobic. Food was ordered in 3 groups but at the same time, all the food came out at different times even food a same order came out at different times.
Waitress came out with food no one had ordered, so that got sent back.
3 people were left with no food for 15 minutes whilst everyone else got theirs.
The waitress had to ask us all "what's missing."
After those 15 mins,2 out of 3 people got their food finally.
My partners was the only food missing which took almost 15 more minutes.
Once received, everyone else had basically finished theirs, but the actual meat was stone cold. I don't mean it was lukewarm, it was actually cold like it's been in the fridge for an hour. I have never seen anything like it in any restaurant I've been it. It was like an episode of Hells Kitchen, just without Gordan Ramsay swearing in the background.
At this stage I was just angry and just took the entire meal to the bar and said we don't want it and we want the money back. We got a refund, and it basically ruined the experience.
Not only that but the food we did get wasn't nice, I'm puzzled how so many people claim the food is good when the burgers are tasteless grease, the chips are flavourless and barely cooked, to me it's inedible.
To top off the entire experience, I now seem to have food poisoning the following day, so thank you.
Birthday invite or not, I won't be returning here.

Fabulous food in a very busy Wheatsheaf on Saturday 24th May 2025. A super new menu with some value favourites such as fish, chips ‘n mushy peas and some new interesting mains such as cheese soufflé and individual steak pies. A great atmosphere with a lively buzz! Definitely going back again VERY soon! 😋
Such a fabulous cafe! We walked to Appledore while on holiday in Westward Ho! We were recommended it by another walking on the harbour and it didn't disappoint!
Quick and friendly service, lovely atmosphere and wonderful food!
The menu was quite small, but it was a nice selection.
We all ate the open toasted sandwiches which I thought were on the expensive side, but they were delicious.
This is one of the most amazing dining experiences we’ve ever had. Everything they brought for us to eat was exquisitely presented and every bite was like a party for the taste buds. The chef is a master at creating the most delicious morsels of food that are also beautifully crafted. The service was impeccable and each part of the meal was carefully orchestrated so that there was time to enjoy each course. The first time we ate here was three years ago and this time we were as equally impressed as the first time. We look forward to coming back when we return to The Station at The Lovat ( which we also loved our stay at this most fabulous hotel)
I'm not keen.
Rubbish on floor behind table, folded bits of csrd.
Stained tablecloth, understandable but not a great look.
Starter - chicken tikka was unexpected with a lot of sauce but tasted good.
Main - chicken balti, decent enough.
Side - vegetable balti looked like the sag aloo but with tesco frozen peas, carrots and sweetcorn chucked on the top. I tasted it, it tasted of nothing. I wanted it off the table it looked so unappetising. I was expecting an onion bhaji not vegetable sag aloo.
Staff - friendly, helpful.
Restaurant small venue. It was busy all night so someone is enjoying it. Personally I won't choose to go back, but if someone else booked it I wouldn't cause a fuss. So a score of three. Disappointing but there's much worse out there.
