A fantastic pub in a fanatic location, it’s got everything from a locals bar which is always friendly as well as a great in door out door space at the rear, really nicely and tastefully done and rarely too busy to get served, food is great and plenty of it so a big tick from me. Dog friendly and has some really great walks locally, bus stop out side if you fancy more beer. Well worth a visit or two 👌 Another fantastic meal, really great atmosphere and beer was tasty. Thank you to the staff who made our evening very special. Still a fantastic pub and restaurant, we had a great time, staff are all so friendly and the food was really great.

Lovely venue, several staff lovely and polite but one staff member rather shirty with my friend. Sadly disappointed with the food.. odd curry flavoured nut roast, took a while to figure out the cauliflower cheeses was cauliflower cheese - a little heap of sludge, disappointing roast potatoes and soggy Yorkshire puddings. Despite that it looked great!!

We arrived at 12.05 we hadn’t booked we asked if they were serving Sunday lunch and were told they were serving lunch and check the menu we ordered drinks and found a table Once we decided what we wanted we went to the bar to order a chicken roast only to be told they would not serve us a chicken dinner as we were a walk in and hadn’t booked if we had known this we would of gone else where as we don’t eat red meat. We feel this is poor customer service.

We are staying in Kelston and tried the Old Crown for lunch and then dinner. We were served by Jess, who was just lovely and the food and service was spot on ! Lovely gardens stocked with home grown flowers and plants added to a special atmosphere !

The Old Crown is the way village pubs used to be and I'm glad to say in the Crowns case, still are. Authentic old world atmosphere and a good gaggle of authentic locals. As a Real Ale buff, glad to report they have an interesting selection of well kept pints and in good weather a very large garden. Haven't eaten here, but the menu looks tempting. All round: Not to be missed if in Bath area. Great base for a local walk.

Started off as a lovely experience sat in The lodge out the back until in came a bunch of 20 plus football shouting yobs screaming and shouting! The waitresses there I know tried to have a word but it fell on deaf ears. This was not the place to seat 20 plus drunken young immature men in what should be a lovely tranquil setting for people to enjoy a quiet meal.If I was the landlord you need to direct them to the spoons up kingswood where they belong.

I can only comment on the bar area and bar menu as the restaurant was full. The building is stunning, a proper old English pub, but that means the rooms are quite small and it felt cramped as it was full. The atmosphere was great though and encouraging to see a full pub of people at the bar and eating. The bar menu was standard but the food was good, a little more choice perhaps would have been nice but it was the bar menu. The beer garden is great and in the summer is always a great spot after a walk around Kelston. The bar area is dog friendly too.

Wonderful pub/restaurant. I have been coming here for 40 years, had birthdays here with people long gone. My husband proposed to me here. We bring our granddaughter here in the summer as it has a lovely enclosed garden and there is always some other children to make friends with. The food is locally sourced, well cooked (no el denté veg) and very tasty. The roasts are excellent but book well in advance. ( The booking system is by email, which can be annoying, as there is often a wait for a reply) Great range of beers, gins and wine.

Quaint, village pub seeped in history as a former coaching inn. The locals are welcoming, convivial and charming— they mentioned the original pub existed a few miles away in a thatched roof building but moved to this location in the 17th century when the main road moved. Grab a fireside table, if possible, for a cosy meal. I recommend the fish and chips.

Food looked amazing, but we didn't eat. Service and atmosphere lose a star on account of it being so busy and the staff focusing so heavily on how much time we were allowed at the only available table before needing to move along. Book a table or avoid peak times. Not a place to spontaneously drop in during the busiest hours.

Stayed in the small village of Kelston at a B&B just round the corner from The Old Crown in which was the only pub. We had made a reservation for evening meal here as it was convenient. What a treat it was! Very old traditional pub with welcoming open fires and all dressed for Xmas. The staff and the locals were all very friendly and welcoming. The food was also delicious. Our intention for our 2nd night was to stay out at the Bath Xmas markets and eat out there, but it was so busy it did not take much persuasion to catch the bus back to this warm welcoming pub. Luckily they had a table for two for us even though they were busy also. Another beautiful festive meal we had.

Genuinely disappointing visit. Booked months in advance for a birthfay meal and rang twice before hand to specifically request to be seated in the lodge. Apon arrival was told we were booked in at the bar which was super full and very loud. Spoke to staff who said the person who booked us mustnt have written it down about requsting the lodge - which I find very hard to belive as i rang twice to check and they confirmed we were to be seated out there. Staff squeezed us in to the restaurant which seemed like our only option due to the time of year we would have had no luck trying another pub due to christmas business. Can understand if the Lodge needed to be used for larger parties, but maybe be worth letting customers know who booked before hand that their specific requests have been changed. I genuinely booked here specifically because of the atmosphere/ cosiness of the lodge. Otherwise would have planned to go elsewhere for the birthday. Food was ok but as we finished up eating what looked like a woodlice of some sort fell from the ceiling into one of the plates. Didn't see any point in complaining about this as we were pretty miffed in the first place. Won't bother coming back now due to the complete disregard of customer service.

First visit here for many years. What a transformation! The original snug pub with real fire is now enhanced with a substantial extension on the back that can be opened to create airy interior, but has a wood burner for the Winter months. Lovely place with beautiful garden & under cover area. Nice food which is well presented. Would have given 5 stars however I do have a problem with a service charge of 12% (in very small print at the bottom of the menu), which is automatically added to the bill. We sat in the garden, had to order food & collect drinks from the bar & were directed where to pick our own cutlery & condiments - other than carrying 2 plates from the kitchen it was basically self service.

Beautiful pub tastefully done up, location and good selection of drinks. We ate in the garden lodge which is lovely, Just one issue with one dish we had for £18, portion size was small, taste was lovely thou. This was the pasta dish with pork. We were both still hungry which I don't expect at that price. 12 % Discretionary service charge which we were not made aware of. So this type of charge really puts me off eating again there and their portion sizes unless u have the fish and chips!. But will go for drinks

Not great, ordered pork fried rice and a praow beef with egg fried rice and crispy salt and pepper squid Everything was quite bland, the beef was the most flavourful but the egg fried rice was mushy and not very fresh, pork rice tasted of nothing really and the the crispy squid was just battered not crispy and didn't have much if any s&p flavour. Wouldn't be ordering again.
