Really, really enjoyed my meal here. Went for some momos then a few vegetarian dishes to share, and the tea spiced ice cream for dessert, and would highly recommend the lot. Staff were lovely too!

Was really excited for this place seeing all the good reviews and having some great food at other Nepalese places in the UK. Not sure if they were having an off night but all the dishes were not very good, with the exception of the butternut squash and chickpea dish being decent. Good service though!!

The interior was lively, and the hosts were nice. The food was ok, but didn't live up to the expectations set by the other reviews. I had a chilli chicken which was a little dry. The sweet lassi was little more than sugar, milk and yogurt.

I’m not sure where to start , we’ve never been to a Nepalese restaurant before but wow will go to this one again. Walked in and the staff welcomed you with smiles , then they were so attentive to us we had the chicken momos wow these were fantastic really tasty , I ordered yak yeti yak lamb for my main the flavours were amazing and the Nepalese rice was so flavourful they went together perfectly, thank you for the best meal and lovely experience 😍

We ate here for the first time and really enjoyed it. We asked advice on dishes and got great recommendations. You can choose spicy you would like your food. I definitely recommend Yak Yeti Yak. When looking for it, it is down steps below street level.

It may not look fancy from the outside, but this is one of my favourite restaurants in Bath. Set in a cozy basement, the food is delicious; aromatic, light and fresh. With a great veggie and vegan offering. Service is super courteous and attentive. There are a number of different seating options - from tables, to bar stools, to floor cushions, to outdoors. The food comes quickly, so pace yourself.

Nice and charming restaurant in the basement of a building in the centre of Bath. The food is certainly interesting with aloo, pakora and particularly the yak yeti yak chicken or beef. If you ask for hot very hot careful because it is indeed super hot. Spice black tea perfect to end. Service is good. I enjoyed the low table sitting on the floor. Price reasonable.

We had a delicious traditional meal in our family of vegans and omnis. We are at the traditional floor seating area which was an experience! The food itself was very yummy - portions were generous so if you are small to medium eaters I would recommend one rice between two (the waitress told us it was small but no one finished the rice!). We ordered from the set menus so all of our dishes came well complemented with daal. Would go again! Medium was a lovely amount of spice for flavouring and not pain! Mild has no spice essentially #Veganuary

All of the food exceeded our expectations but our favourite was the pork bhutuwa, excellent!

Ordered the Chicken Momos, Pakora, Pork Sag Aloo, Yak Yeti Yak Chicken, Butternut Squash with Chickpeas. All dishes were delicious, with good amount of spice and uniquely flavored. Must come back again.

The first issue I have with this place is the booking system. It is onerous. Regarding the food, it was definitely not worth the burdensome reservation process. The chicken sheek and pakoras were mediocre. Their speciality chicken yak yeti yak was very greasy. It had no sauce, just dry pieces of chicken breast slices in spicy oil. Does not go well with rice, which is the only carb they serve. No bread or roti. The owner does fervently claim that they know their Nepalese cuisine but it is obvious they have not lived or eaten in Nepal. It is a shame they aggressively justify a poorly thought of dish, lacking flavours, which an average Brit cannot find a fault. Unless of course, Nepalese food lack flavours and are boring in general. Not worth the reservation process - tourists in Bath are better off in another Asian restaurant.

The dishes are bursting with flavour. Had the salmon and chicken momo for starters. One of the tastiest mint sauces paired with the salmon i have ever tried. The yak yeti yak chicken, i chose mild, but one could select their spice level of preference. The chicken was tender and well marinated and was served with a generous portion of rice. Only small comment would be the mango lassi being on the small side. Would highly recommend.

Such lovely food here! The set meals are a great mix of portion sizes aren’t massive unless you order from the group set menu but it’s enough for a dinner. Staff are lovely and the vegetarian options are great.

Great food with options for all.

Had the pleasure of eating here twice and will make sure that I eat here every time I visit Bath. The service is fantastic, the restaurant dripping in rich atmosphere and food that is, even if perhaps a bit salty for my tastes (a very minor quibble for only one or two side dishes ) to die for. Not to mention, rhere are endless vegerarian and vegan options. It is simply delicious and I could not recommend it enough for residents, passers by and visitors to Bath!

Wonderful food and service! There was one surly host, but the rest of the servers were quite friendly. We were in a bit of a hurry and they got us served quite quickly, even though it was very busy. The chicken was really good, the pork was amazing, the sauce was wonderful, and the desserts (rice pudding and fruit & yogurt) were spectacular!

Amazing Nepali restaurant in Bath! Cozy vibes. I went there around Dashain, so they had a Dashain special Goat curry too. Vegetarian dishes could be done a bit better, but overall the food, service, and environment overall made it feel very homely.

In my professional opinion Yak Yeti Yak provides the best food AND service in England

A friend and I tried Yak Yeti Yak as we heard really good things about the food. We got two starts which were luke warm and would’ve preferred if they were a little hotter. The flavours were good though. We then shared the Yak Yeti Yak chicken with fried rice. We were told the spice level went from mild to medium to hot to extra hot. We handle spice pretty well so requested hot. It was certainly very hot and probably would get medium next time. The fried rice didn’t have much colour or flavour and next time I would just get the normal basmati rice instead as the fried rice didn’t seem very worth. The atmosphere was really nice - we were seated on the floor cushions and the staff was really attentive and friendly.

Saturday night super busy, came without a booking and they managed to accommodate us. Fantastic hosts and the food is next level. Hadn’t been for a Nepalese in a while and so glad we chose this place, really didn’t disappoint.

Absolutely gorgeous meal! So many tasty vegan options, exceptional service, friendly, smiley and attentive. The food was hot and delicious. I recommend a set meal as you get rice and a dahl which really ties the dish together. Found this place on Google due to its great reviews, got a table of two on the off chance without a reservation, defo returning when I’m back in Bath😊 Thank you!

Excellent food. Small but well executed menu. We opted for shared dishes, which was a great way to explore more things. Staff were friendly and very helpful. My only slight reservation was the atmosphere, lights on everywhere, it could do with a bit cosier feel tbh.

Absolutely stunning! I couldn’t book online, it said it was full, and couldn’t get through on the phone, so rocked up on the off change we could get in. They sat us immediately, and we’re really friendly. The waiting staff were fantastic and really helpful with recommending dishes and things to try. Everything we ordered was in incredible and I would recommend. All very filling and good sized portions. A fantastic visit!

I rarely gave a restaurant a one star rating, but I think I really have to leave this review. I had been here once, and I thought the meal was fantastic, so I decided to come back on Sunday, 5th of November for lunch. I ordered a chicken dish, their fried rice, and a yoghurt drink. Everything was alright, the service was not that quick, but I expected that, and the food tasted good. The problem is hours after I had lunch - I got food poisoning/gastroenteritis. I didn't eat anything else between finishing lunch and the onset of my feeling unwell. About 4 hours after the meal, I started to vomit and I got diarrhoea. This diarrhoea lasted until today, Thursday, 9 Nov 2023, and a consultation with the doctor confirmed that I got gastroenteritis. Because of the sequence of the events, and the fact that I didn't have anything else other than their food, I suspected something was wrong in the meal.

Basement restaurant with poor lighting. The hosts would not allow a table for two even though half the place was empty. Save your self the headache and don’t even try.

Our first experience of Nepalese food. Mild and Medium were VERY mild and under-seasoned. Dumplings were dull. Goat curry had no curry and little goat. Carrot dessert was horrible. Dalls were very watery. BUT the chicken was fine, the other starters were good. The chocolate dessert was excellent. Staff were very friendly and atmosphere was great.

Great place to eat accommodating beer menu could do with a update but the food is sublime, I had a vegan curry and you can dictate how hot I had mine as hot as I came and it was delicious, I could still taste the vegetables and the traditional stir fried rice was a great accompaniment. Definitely worth the money and still busy on a Tuesday that says a lot.

Excellent vegan options with a combination of flavours I've not previously encountered. Everything was good but the dhal and pakoras were exceptional. Service was quick and considering how busy they were, early on a Tuesday evening we're clearly not the only people who rate the place. If we're in Bath again, we may well make a return visit.

This is a great restaurant. Generous portions and excellent value for money. Their dishes are well-seasoned and tasty.

Yak Yeti Yak is something of a Bath institution, and with good reason. The food is fresh, original and delicious. We shared three starters and two main courses with rice, and all of them were excellent. Service is friendly, efficient and helpful (if your waiter tells you something is very spicy, they aren't kidding!) Highly recommended.

The pharsi ra Kalo channa and the aloo dum were highlights 10/10. The fried rice and the orange lentils were bland, and the vegetable momos had an odd flavour. I'd recommend trying something different.

The food is incredibly delicious (my favorite was the Yak Yeti Yak Chicken and the Orange Lentils). The menu is written super sweetly, the staff is very friendly and accommodating and the atmosphere is unique (we sat in the area without chairs). In seven days of Bath I would have loved to come here every evening :-)))

Wow! Simply Wow! The mains (pork and lamb meals - medium spiced) were absolutely delicious, served with a gorgeous daal and fruity chutney. But then ..... couldn't resist trying the chocolate, ginger and chilli ice dessert with a masala coffee - what a delightful combination that was! Having walked past here loads of times over many years, I'm just sorry I've not been in before now. Very highly recommended indeed.

Amazing Nepalese food! Visited this place during weekdays and it was not too crowded so we did not have to make any reservations. Yak Yeti Yak Chicken was awesome as well as the Chicken Chilli. But the real star was Pork Sag Aloo IMO.

Delicious menu and very friendly service in this cosy restaurant. The waitress had kindly recommended their signature Yak Yeti Yak lamb and Chilli chicken, both dishes were to die for! Great Nepalese beer and loved the Momos too. This was our favourite dinner during our short weekend in Bath and I would come back in a heartbeat.

Thought it might be a touristy rip off but could not have been further from the truth. Authentic and down to earth with lovely tasty fresh food and great cocktails too. Reasonably priced. Very busy so good atmosphere. Loved it.

Update: as advised by the owner's response to my earlier review I asked for different chutney and I was very pleased. Yum. It was hot, 28+ during the day and sticky in the evening, but the staff gave up their fans for us. So during the meal I ordered a spare for them on Amazon. I look forward to visiting it. Once again the food was great, wonderful service and a quirky little place to really enjoy. Our go-to choice the first night we holiday in Bath. A delicious tradition, long may she sail! Thanks again Yak! ----- original ------ I don't like the chutney. Absolutely everything else I've had on two visits has been delicious and I'm going back again when I can. The main meals come with rice and a bowl of runny Dahl. Excellent base that I could enjoy on their own. And oh, the lamb!! I booked but accidentally for the wrong month but they managed to fit us in. If recommend booking.

Delicious. Very tasty food. We already tried Yak Yeti Yak when we were in Bath seven years ago and it was just as good as before. It was well worth the 30 minute walk from our hotel.

Ate here on our last night in Bath. Food was very flavoursome and quite spicy hot even though we chose medium spice. Very hot spice level might be unbearable! Not cheap but prices expensive everywhere now. This is a Nepalese restaurant but I've been to some that serve Indian dishes as well. This does not so there's no breads. Definitely try the Momo's and the pork saag was delicious. I loved the Chiyaa tea!

Literally some of the best food I have had in a long long time. I eat out all the while and travel many countries, this was top level food. The tastes are amazing, I want to eat again but so full!!

Diverse range of food that is different from most others. Don’t judge the inside of the restaurant by the outside, it is lovely and authentic inside. Our chicken was a little overcooked and we should have ordered medium hot not mild. We don’t like super hot food but I think we compromised a lot of the flavour ordering mild which had no heat at all. Be brave!

First time eating Nepalese food; incredible flavours, so fragrant! Despite being in the centre of Bath, it’s very affordable— main dish for under £10. Our order: Pork Momos; Veggie Pakora; Chicken Bhutuwa; Lamb Tamar; Musurko Dal. Favourite dish was Lamb Tamar.

Returned for a late bite: what almost immediately appeared on the table was dry, too salty, overheated food. Disappointing.

I really enjoyed the food here - about half the menu is vegetarian. You get asked how hot you like your food and hot means hot. Reasonable beer selection. Update - however, how they speak to customers on the phone does not encourage me to return so I have just booked the Thai up the road for our large group booking.

The food is very flavourful and has a great balance between rice, daal, and main dish. The sides, momos, are a must try! Service was quick and staff was friendly. I definitely recommend trying the pillow seats for the full experience.

2023 Update: Four years later, I'm Bath again and decided to eat here. It was still delicious. I had the vegetable momos and a spiced green bean and broccoli dish (I can't remember the name). I did think that the drinks were a bit pricey: I had a spiced black tea that was 8 quid. The environment was nice, and I would recommend it again. ------------------------ 2019 I had a great experience here. They were able to seat me on a busy night despite not having booked. The food was excellent. When I was leaving, I saw a couple trying to decide to go in, and I highly encouraged them to try it. I'm encouraging you now!

I live above Yak Yeti Yak and the smell of cooking makes the cravings hard to budge! The food is 10/10 best curries I have had. I will say the drinks are too expensive. 5 cokes cost £20 alone other then that its 10/10

Lovely family run restaurant / menu was fairly basic but the food was amazing!!!! The dahl was possibly the best we have ever had! We bought some of the spices for sale and are looking forward to trying them at home.
