Been ordering from Empire on and off for a few years now, unfortunately I won’t be ordering again. We called and ordered a hot madrass and a chicken and prawn tikka with garlic naan. Whilst making our order we spoke to a guy who really couldn’t understand what we were saying but after various attempts, we managed to get the order across. He then read the order out over the phone and we confirmed. Upon collection, I was told that they will not be cooking the chicken and prawn Tika again as people get ill off of it as it shouldn’t be cooked together, Why was we not told this on the phone? When I got home, everything apart from the madrass was In the bag. I called to ask why the food was missing I was told to calm down then we just heard him giggling saying that they haven’t done anything wrong. In future, I feel they should allow people to take orders on the phone that can understand our language then this wouldn’t happen the food that we did receive was nice just a shame the order wasn’t correct

Had a really lovely meal. Both tasty and spicy. The staff here are really friendly, from the overheard banter and chat appear to know their customers and it's was a lovely atmosphere. It has no alcohol licence so it's a BYO but there are a couple of small supermarkets very close by so no problems there. After 2 years of curry disappointment in this area have we found THE place ? Probably. Will edit this review after our next visit which I am already looking forward to. Update - we keep on returning

I had a fantastic meal at empire of India , I have heard so much about this little gem of a restaurant and thought it was time to take the plunge I have to say that I was not disappointed the food was absolutely delicious and fresh , the staff was super helpful and also allowed me to make my own amendments to my curry which is always a good sign that the food is cooked fresh unlike certain award winning Indian restaurants who have all the food pre cooked and the food comes out at an alarming rate , as for what we eat well for starter we had chicken tikka , tandoori chicken and a chicken chat all starters were superb, for mains we had chicken dohari, balti chicken tikka sag and chicken makati all delicious accompanied with sag pointer, cash aloo, egg rise, keema rice with keema nan and cheese nan all delicious and we will certainly return

This was my first time of visiting. The service was fine, but the mains and drinks were an issue. The dishes we ordered lacked meat (a few chunks) and the sauce drowned the little meat leaving us with more a soup and rice rather than a curry. Disappointed. When we were given the bill (which was taken from me on payment) I was disappointed to see that we had been over charged for x2 starters (a side was added as a started) but the worst of it all was the issue of water, which I have named 'Watergate'. When we sat down there was a bottle of water on our table (Highland Spring glass one). This was not a new one (the seal was broken) and it was filled with tap water (I know the difference). I was amazed to see on out bill that we were charged around £3.50 for drinking tap water which was on all tables. How many other people have got stung this way? I did not order water -it was there already and we drank it -TAP WATER. I am aware that this is a BYO (which I believe they charge £1.50 corkage). Quite frankly, I could have gone over to the SPA, bought a bottle of water (which would have been tastier, paid corkage and still been better off. I will not be returning. I wonder how many other people have merrily paid their bill and not noticed these 'little extras'. Although I did not dispute the bill - simply because I could not be bothered, I left feeling miffed and that I would have been better off getting a take-away from a supermarket together with a bottle of proper Highland Spring water. Never mind, we live and learn and a lost customer.

Came here for my mums 50th surprise birthday meal, everything and I mean everything was bespoke for us. We have family members with a lot of dietary needs, and Alom and the Empire of India team smashed it with making sure we were well looked after. We had our own (hidden) space to add to the surprise meal, the team turned the music down to cater for my autistic nephew and then the food was bang on point! Prawn puri is definitely my fave starter, we love spice in my family so we ordered an array of naga dishes, and I was really riling for a karahi that day, every single craving was hit. My wife is a brummy so she's fussy about her curries, but since then we've been back 2 - 3 times for the garlic chilli king prawns with a chilli coriander naan and chips! Prices are REALLY good too, they are barely hiking up their prices unlike other restaurants and takeaways! Well done team, I'm sure my wife and I will see you soon ;)

we ordered £40 worth of food on Uber eats. The driver gave us the wrong order which I can appreciate happens, however, with 15 years of food service trade tucked under my belt, I've never experienced such terrible hospitality in all my life! Staff at the store just kept blaming Uber. No assistance with a refund nor offer of replacing the food. Just a simple "it's not our fault." Now I can appreciate it not you're fault but I've always looked after my customers even if it wasn't my fault. My partner has Coeliac disease (quite clearly stated on the order) which also meant the food that arrived was no good for us, as the Naan breads "Emma" (the other customer who got our food) had ordered had slipped out of their bag and spread gluten everywhere. I've worked many areas of hospitality and have done a short time in an Indian restaurant myself. We always replaced food regardless of who's fault it was. its just good hospitality. So now, just to point out, you've upset an existing customer who will not return and will advise others to go elsewhere, you've lost the money for the order as Uber have refunded us and you've also lost the money you spent on the product making the food as you've not recieved payment.. surely it would have been easier, cheaper and better for everyone involved to just simply replace our food? So to recap, you were correct, it wasn't your fault, but who's paying the price..?

This restaurant has always been wonderful but our recent visit was anything but wonderful. Table was booked for 8pm, we arrived on time and wasn't seated or even acknowledged until 8.20pm. Once seated no one came to take our order until 8.50pm very slow poor service. The meal we ordered was nice but my main meal was not as advertised on the menu and should of had sheek (as they spell it) kebab within the curry but was substituted with chicken tikka. Guess they had run out of sheek kebab that night. The whole time we were there all we witnessed was very busy staff more concentrating on the takeaway service and not on the restaurant customers, such a shame to see a local well renowned restaurant going downhill on their customer service.

Nothing in the sauces, no onions or texture or any type of veg pieces in the sauce. The naans tasted burned, the pilau was basic unflavoured white basmati with flecks of green coloured rice. Not cheap either, just very very disappointing in every way.

i telephoned my order. king prawn madras and 2 plain naan to the restaurant. i often order this from curry kings in kingswood and its about 12 quid. i did not ask the price on the phone. when i got to the (empty) restaurant 15 minutes later i noted a sign saying 20%discount for takeaway so imagine my shock when i was quoted over 18 quid fot my curry and bread! when i questioned this the curry wallah said he would make a ''special discount'' for me which, strangely enough was exactly the same amount discounted for everyone and should have been given in the first place....... we'll let that slide for the moment although i was told that the high cost of the prawn curry was due to the giant king prawns used. fair enough. .. the curry emperor demonstrated the size as being as long as his hand. way cool. WELL NOT SO WAY COOL WHEN I GOT THEM HOME AND OPENED MY CURRY DELIGHT. so the meal. the breads were a weird texture sort of chewy and stringy but tasted okay and the curry gravy was a fine madras generic flavour. the prawns however were almost inedible being so over cooked they were tasteless and rubbery. as to size i would compare them to tesco king prawns rather than the hand-sized beauties i was looking forward to. that is my report of my takeaway meal from the empire. i ate the at approximately 8pm washed down with bottled water and had eaten nothing else that evening. what follows is in no way attributed to empire of India's food and could have been caused by any number of things. please don't read on if you have a delicate disposition.............at around 11.30 that night i had mild stomach cramps and a need to visit the loo. what followed was TWO HOURS OF PROJECTILE DIAHORREA. that left me weak and dehydrated.and with a strong desire to never order takeaway curry unless i had eaten at the restaurant before... as i said. i am not attributing blame here but i do wonder why a well established restaurant had ZERO customers at 7pm? do the locals know something i dont? anyway a 1 star review for chewy bread, the overcharging attempt and the bullet prawns. oh and being 33% more expensive than the likes of curry kings even with the ''''SPECIAL DISCOUNT''' being applied

Recently moved back to Keynsham after growing up there. After trying several places recently, this is the best Indian restaurant in the area! Really worth a visit. Delicious food, a variety of dietary considerations, fair prices, friendly team. It's BYOB alcohol too. What more could you want?

We've had several takeaways from here and they are always good. Our most recent was super. They even made us a vegetarian dish not on the menu. Always polite and on time. Great value for money.

Amazing food amazing staff. The service was great with a perfect amount of wait between courses in fact the longest wait was for the bill and who minds that . Over all would highly recommend this place .
