Thaikhun Bath in Bath and North East Somerset

Thaikhun is my favourite Thai restaurant in Bath. I just had a fantastic birthday meal with my family, a real variety of food and strong flavours. Our waitress Sea was lovely as well. I would definitely recommend going here!

If i could give this an extra star i would, As a teenager wanting a nice lunch with my friends i recommend this place 100%!! The service is fast and they go out of their way to give you what they want, The staff I would like to say Sea who served me has done a great job and gave me and my friends a amazing time and I think she should get recognised for her outstanding attitude to working.

I recently visited Thaikun and had an amazing dining experience, largely thanks to our lovely server, Pi Sea. She was incredibly charming and attentive, ensuring that we had everything we needed throughout our meal. Her warm and friendly demeanor made us feel right at home. Pi Sea’s excellent service truly enhanced our experience at Thaikun. Highly recommend visiting and asking for her – she’s fantastic!

Nop was our waiter and was absolutely incredible so lovely and charming!!! The food was amazing had the king prawn pineapple and the chicken street noodles plus more!!! My family and I had the best time at Thaikhun. We are definitely coming back!!

Really nice food and good service too. My wife is gluten intolerant and when she mentioned this they produced a separate menu for her which had a really good selection of food, not just a few. The food we had was very good, decent size portions and nice and hot, (I know that should be a given but isn’t always). The pork strips were excellent. All of the staff we spoke to were very pleasant as well.

I came here a few weeks ago with my teenage son. We needed a meal quite quickly because we had to catch the bus to the park-and-ride. We mentioned this to ‘Sea’ on arrival and she said it would be no problem at all. The meal was served really quickly and as always it tasted delicious. We always come to this restaurant on a visit to Bath, I would definitely recommend.

For a city centre restaurant this was OK. Dish prices were reasonable, service was quick and the food was hot. I watched it being prepared in front of me. The Tom Yum was very very oily, essentially Tom Yum paste with added water. Drinkable but far from the best. The stir fry was very edible but again very heavy on soy sauce. It was busy with several groups so clearly popular

Arrived. Stood at the front for five minutes, three waiters walked past me. No service. Walked out. Poor.

This restaurant in Bath is very authentic with the whole place decked out in Thai bits and bobs on the walls ceiling & everywhere you look! An open kitchen produces wonderful tasty food from the greater Thai region. Service was prompt & the menu simple to navigate. We had the full sharer for three. The dishes were delicious & plentiful & what we didn’t eat my daughter had it put up 4a takeaway. A great place to eat in my opinion

Love this place! Been here many times and every time is amazing. For all my people the chicken is halal ✨they’re food is FRESH and hot every single time they never miss 💅 you gotta try 🫵 service is great and always happy to accommodate walk ins even on busy weekends, they also do student/ NHS discount :) Pics are all from seperate trips! Deffo recommend the basil fried rice with chicken and the KSG noodle soup ( unreal flavour) I’ve tried to add the name of the food don’t hate me if it’s wrong!

Atmosphere was phenomenal! Really enjoyed the vintage thai decor, really felt like home. The food was good but lacked the umph that would bring it to great. Service was wonderful!

We been many times unfortunately last few viste was disappointed. Portions is smaller food not taste good like before and we find plastic bits in our meal. Service really bad .

So I went out with my kids and my wife and as soon I was shown to the table, that even the atmosphere in the room is soo busy, we were given an amazing friendly service as well as the food was served quick. Special thanks to Daniel for serving the food and Sea for taking my order. Will defo come back😊

Poor allergy management! (The below is a complaint from August that still has not been responded to). the allergy menu for drinks on the website is wrong. it flags up nuts for all cocktails. another member of our party had a soy allergy we notified the team as we were seated and used the scanned allergy menu and reminded our waiter when we ordered. when the food was brought out another waitress told us that the dish maybe marinated in soy sauce and that we should have told the staff about an allergy. she went to check in the kitchen and came but and said it was soy free however at the point we had lost our confidence in the restaurants allergy handling and the affected party was uncomfortable eating the dish, we explained this to our waiter and he was ok. 5 mins later a lady who we assume was Yh manger came out and explained the dish was fine and that we should use the allergy next time when we explained we did everything correct she raised her voice (other tables looked on at the altercation) and argued with all 5 of use that we were in the wrong and as a restaurant they take allergies seriously. unfortunately this clearly is not the case as she did not have a word with the waitress who misinformed us but at the customers. the dish was eventually taken away and not included in our bill. we continued the night with a second dinner at giggling squid where the member with the soy allergy was able eat a soy free meal with confidence as it came out with an allergy flag. also some ordered a drink it didn’t come out so we chase it up and they said ohh yeah we don’t have any they didn’t think to inform us. overall poor dining experience which is a shame as I have eaten here previously and enjoyed the experience

My first meal and lunch in Bath. I ordered the Papaya Salad( Som Tam) which was spiced to my request. Fresh and fragrant , I usually have this in most Thai restaurants as it sets a great beginning to any meal. I ordered a Thai Basil & Chili Chicken Rice; large portion size and was absolutely delectable. They had a good deal on cocktails so ordered a Ginger Pineapple Mojito. Was really nice and refreshing. Would love to go again if I visit Bath.

What a fantastic place! Once again did not disappoint quite the contrary! From the beginning when Pathy welcomed us, they were full and did not have enough staff but I came in with 8 of my clients and she said that she would have to look after us as while welcoming the customers in the restaurant and that it might take a bit longer. She was an absolute delight! Smiley, welcoming, patient and efficient and we were served quickly too! I have a hiking business and could not book and my customers really wanted to see what all the fuss was about while we dreamed of that food from the beginning till the end of our hike! Fantastic food, clean and original place and great service from everyone… can’t wait to be back.

My friend and I had a wonderful time at Thaikhun in Bath! We ordered a sharing feast platter, and the food was absolutely delicious. The combination of meat, vegetables, spices, and sauce was perfectly balanced and full of flavor. To top it off, the service was attentive and prompt

My delivery order from here was incorrect, so I rang the restaurant for a resolution. The lady on the other end of the phone, was very short, scoffed at me during the call and laughed at me when I was confused about what was being asked of me. Terrible customer service.

I visited Bath for the day and was struggling to find somewhere nice for lunch. We stumbled across this place on the way back the car park and are very glad we did. Amazing food! Really tasty! The location is fascinating too. Loads of interesting wall art and pieces to view whilst sat there. The staff are really friendly and gave advice on the dishes when prompted. Will definitely be returning and would highly recommend to anyone visiting the city.

Great food and atmosphere. A little pricey but it's rare to get cheap Thai food in the UK.

Food was OK, not authentic enough for the prices they charge. No Thai veggies, no baby aubergines. Thier option of veg on a green curry is carrots. It was just decent enough on flavours. Decor and venue are lovley cant complain, however Some of staff were extremely rude after we mentioned we didn't order one item. They got very shirty and rude. We spent nearly £150 on food only to be spoken to so rudely when a mistake was mentioned. I payed the full bill including service but should not have payed the service charge after such rude behaviour. Won't visit again. To be honest I think the manager lady also has some racism issues. The way they handled us was terrible. Really should not have paid the bill at all but we are respectful people.

Great place for simple Thai food. Always thought it looked a bit of a theme / chain restaurant but was pleasantly surprised. Will deffo come again for lovely green thai curry & a beer!

This is an edit of my previous 5 star review. I've eaten here an average of once a month for the last 18 months. In this time there has been a decline in both food and service. Portion sizes are very inconsistent but seems now to always be fairly small. All the subtleties of flavour have disappeared and they're just serving greasy noodles. Some of the staff are really rude, and their attitudes are entirely off putting. They obviously hate their jobs and it comes across from the second we walked in. I thought I'd give the place one more try having had a break for a few weeks but having eaten their again yesterday and had a very disappointing experience yet again we won't be returning.

Ordered for delivery - small portions except for ridiculous quantity of prawn crackers. A drizzle of sweet chili sauce was provided. Pad Thai was greasy and not flavourful. Give it a miss.

Service is very fast. We will definitely be back when next in Bath.

If you are Asian, please don't come to this restaurant for racial discrimination!! And there are other comments on Google review that discriminate against Asians!!! Although this is an Asian restaurant, a middle-aged woman, who received us with a poker face all the way, she smiled happily when facing white people and turned her head and continued to have a bad attitude towards us. I don't understand why an Asian restaurant treats Asians differently from white people. After giving feedback to their clerk, she explained to us that she was in a bad mood, so she was in a good mood in the face of white people. Was she in a bad mood in the face of Asians?? 别来，歧视亚洲人，赶紧逃

I’ve been this restaurant for many times but really disappointed. The service is bad now and the waitress was so rude. The food became smaller portions but the price was increased. I used to be a loyal customer but won’t be back again . Not recommended.

Had such a lovely experience at Thaikhun. Even though they were short staffed they still made sure with had a lovely experience. Food was tasteful would highly recommend.

Nice place with pretty good Thai food. Coming from Asia, I have tried a few Thai restaurants in Bath. I must say the food here is quite similar to that of those in Thailand. Well, a bit spicier be good :-) Had a Tom Yum Udon with prawns. Generous portion of prawns, the soup could be better with more Tom Yum and lime perhaps, but still yummy, nonetheless. Also had a chicken spring roll, this was really good as it was still juicy inside and crispy on the outside. Not many can do it as well. Only had a very light lunch here, definitely be back!

My wife and I love the place. The food is excellent and the decor and atmosphere is amazing. I always feel like I'm in a 1950's Bangkok movie set. Great fun!

Arrived on 28th at 1: 30 for lunch and unfortunately the supervisor was abrupt and extremely unresponsive and unhelpful How does she get away with working in a restaurant with people and be so abrupt!! From the moment we sat day and took and she took the order she was extremely rude. However, the another waitress name Cindy was extremely helpful. Curry was like the red Thai curry was watered down like soup.

I entered the restaurant double mindedly as I saw few reviews from local guides stating that the standards have gone down. But I made up my mind to try my first Thai food here and I guess I was not disappointed. They served a good quantity of pork belly in my rice dish. However, the meat was too rough not sure was it because of multiple times frying. Ambience was good. Service was good. Food was good in terms of flavour and quantity except for the meat issue pointed out

Very authentic, delicious Thai food in a fabulously decorated restaurant - it really felt like we were in Thailand. Quick & efficient service. We especially enjoyed the chicken massaman curry, pork salad, red prawn curry & Tom yum soup & the sharing platters. Definitely recommend a visit!

It used to be a favourite place, now quality of food and service has made it unrecognizable. All plates taste the same, pad thai had a slimey, tasty flavour. When we ordered I asked the waitress to have the noodles without sugar and she told me that this was not possible as their sauce was made a week ago!!! Then she forgot to order the starter we had ordered, and did not apologize when we reminded her. The waitresses on the day were three, all rough mannered and rude. This place will close down because it has always been a hit and miss but now it is certainly a place to avoid.

This place has gone down hill, it used to be good. They need to improve on the service. Not once we got asked how our food was then they expect you to pay a service charge at the end - Applying a service charge to the bill yet not even asking how our food was! Cheeky. The red thai curry needs major improvement it's very watery and chicken is very tough. Chilli squid starter is £9 for 5 tiny pieces which wasn't the best either. Won't be returning.

First time to eat here. Very good. Papaya salad was very spicy which I love. Mango and stick rice for dessert was great.

Absolutely amazing food! This isn’t the first time I’ve been here but I’ve enjoyed it every time. The menu isn’t massive, which is a good thing! The food is flavourful and there are some impressive and delicious cocktail options too. Service was extremely quick, and the staff are very friendly and welcoming too.

First of all, i love how they decor the place. It's on point on every corner, nothing missed. I feel like i'm back in asia. I ordered the Prawn Tom Yum and Chicken Green Curry with 2 bowl of rice. Food was very fast served. When i tried the Tom Yum, i was really disappointed. They use frozen prawn and not a real live prawn in which makes the soup doesn't have any prawny taste at all. There's also no visible herb on the soup. The soup is sweet and not sour, it's not Tom Yum. It's more like a not so curry red curry since the herb is not strong and it's not sour at all. 2/5 for the TomYum. Thankfully, their Green Curry is really tasty and authentic! I'd recommend it. They use chicken breast and there's zuccini and some peas inside the curry. The curry is very thick, spicy, taste really nice and authentic, chef's kiss. Loved it! 5/5

I had an amazing dining experience at Thaikhun! The Green Curry Chicken was absolutely delicious, bursting with authentic flavors and just the right amount of spice. The Tom Yum Soup was equally impressive, with its perfect balance of sour and spicy notes. The vibrant atmosphere and friendly staff made the meal even more enjoyable. Highly recommend for anyone craving genuine Thai cuisine!

very good food and lovely staff

Food is great, cant fault it. However the service is absolutely shocking. The waitresses were so rude and looked down upon me. The waiters were fine, but my gosh it was horrible. I even asked for a knife and they said, we don't have knifes and i literally eat there frequently. Shocking. Wont be returning. Silly cow.

A really nice restaurant- I loved the decor, drinks were nice, seats were comfy, staff were chilled and not overly enthusiastic. I really liked the menu - there were loads of options and the hot spicy food was a good level of spicy. The food was nice and colourful and resented nicely. Generally I thought the portions were decent - but not the rice which came in a small bowl for £4. It’d all gone before I’d even got close to finishing my spicy duck.

Everything is too creamy and sweet, including tom yum soup! I’m really disappointed as an Asian foodie. It was great the first time I visited 3y ago, but unfortunately it’s not authentic any more :(

The most delicious and fresh Thai food! The restaurant has a lovely vibe to it and very cool decor. We were a walk in, and although it was a Saturday, staff were accommodating to seat us. Sadly as a table of two, we were sat in a corner away from the atmosphere. The menu had a great range of foods and service was quick. Well, what can I say about the food apart from WOW!! So flavoursome and delicious. Would go back in a heartbeat next time we’re in Bath. Highly recommended.

The green curry is yum. However, the service is so poor, the waitress is too rude and grumpy. Vegetarian options are limited.

An amazing Thai food experience! Tourist’ing the City, could find a lot of restaurants yet this was recommended to us. Me and my friend really enjoyed the food with the stunning interior that made it bright and comfortable to dine in. Staffs were very friendly, assistive and approachable even with the crowd of customers being served. A recommendation that will never disappoints you! The menu has specific legend for preferred Spiciness, find it very helpful.

Visited Friday 29/03/2024 early evening. First thing to say is I’d definitely recommend booking. People were arriving hoping for a table but they hadn’t booked so staff were having to try and fit them in. We booked though so no issues. A really nice welcome when we arrived, we were promptly shown to the table and ordered drinks. Food wise we opted for the meal deal plus a starter sharer. Can’t remember exactly what we had but it was all absolutely superb. Way more food than we expected and luckily they allowed us to take away what we couldn’t manage, providing cartons and a bag to take home. Price seemed reasonable especially considering the quality and portion size. Staff were brilliant. When it came to paying the bill I was happy to add on a few quid for a tip but the waiter said don’t worry because they added on a 10% service charge - I would have happily paid extra for the quality of food and service but as he pointed out the service charge I didn’t want to push the extra tip and happily paid the total. Really enjoyed it and will definitely be back.

We ordered 4 sets of per-person Pinto Sharing for a group of 9 pax, and 3 per-person tom yum and 3 rice, only to be told by a manager that the 4 sets are for 8 pax. Well that's okay that we corrected to 2 sets. When the tom yum came, they didn't look like tom yum at all (pics) and the manager apologized that they ran out of tomyum paste. They should have told us before we ordered. And what tom yum paste are they talking about if they are serving authentic Thai food - they would have prepared tom yum by themselves rather than relying on tomyum paste (which gives us the impression that it is tomyum paste that is not made by themselves). The"tomyum" tasted like chicken soup with no spiciness and tangy kick.

I ordered for vegan sabi sabi meal & they gave me chicken in my green curry. I’ve never come near chicken and looking at the shape of it I thought it was tofu.After I looked at the 2nd piece I suspected it for chicken. I’m so traumatised. I’ve ordered from this place many times but now I’m questioning their hygiene, the care they take for their orders and how exactly is the green curry served for vegans? Are the pieces of chicken just removed from the curry? What if I was allergic to chicken? I’m a vegetarian and I’ve been a vegetarian ever since my childhood. This has been a horrible experience and never trusting their quality again. After contacting I just got a lousy apology and asked me to request for a refund from Deliveroo. Horrible. Order no. 4007
