The best restaurants in Pontprennau/Old St. Mellons Cardiff South Wales

Thank you so much for having my in laws and I for Christmas eve dinner. They were so impressed and totally loved it. I've been many times for the drinks and the atmosphere but never for dinner and everything was really lovely I have to say. We thought the mushroom stroganoff was especially good. I hope everyone is having a well deserved rest today, you looked like you were all run off your feet last night. Thanks again ❤️

We wandered into this restaurant without any expectations and were so impressed and glad that we came. It was very nicely decorated and clean, with friendly informative staff. The food was fantastic! The ceviche was fresh and tasty and we loved the empanadas (we tried them all! Definitely worth a visit if you’re in the area.

We didn't eat we only drank, staff and customers were friendly. A large wine and a pint of Worthingtons was cheap only £8.80 for both, next door was almost double. Would go to both again 🍺🥂🍾

1st visit & was very impressed with the excellent food and service, will definitely be coming back. The fish and chips with curry sauce was excellent 👍

Regular customers, fish and chips are always cooked to perfection. Reasonable prices. Friendly staff.

We have visited several times since moving to the area and the food and service are always excellent. It is great value for money, too.

We had a lovely Sunday roast earlier. The quality and portion size was great and at a reasonable price. Service was also really good especially considering they were quite busy and we were a table of 8.

Worst kept service station toilets I've ever been to. On the way back to Ireland I stopped to take a break & use the toilet facilities before getting some food. Half of the gents was shut off with a barrier. That's fine, it was a quiet time of the day, so why keep it all open (less cleaning). Cleanliness-wise, no issue, it was clean & smelt okay. What was really disappointing was firstly despite the "caution hot water" notices on each sink, not a single hot tap worked. In fact, some were hanging off & one was even taped up (so staff know about the problem). Secondly, not a single soap dispenser had any soap in it. The final thing that then prompted me to write this review was the fact that the only two accessible hand-dryers didn't work either (& there are no paper towels). All in all, far from the 'Welcome' you'd expect from a Welcome Break. Management at this establishment should be ashamed. All things that should be easily fixable.

fantastic service, lovely staff especially bron who made our visit so relaxing with a toddler. went above and beyond for us! will visit again soon! 😀

Conocí a algunos colegas aquí hace unas semanas, pedimos 2 rondas de bebidas - 6 bebidas en total, estuvimos allí alrededor de 2. 5 horas. Me sorprendió unos días más tarde recibir una multa por estacionar, ya que había excedido el límite de 2 horas en el estacionamiento, que no había prestado atención también! Así que, apelé, pero en términos claros, la apelación fue rechazada a pesar de que yo era un cliente que pagaba dos veces más. Iré a otro lugar para reuniones en el futuro.

This is my local burger king and I got to be brutally honest it's the worst run burger king you could ever go to every time I've visited in the last 9 years all meals have been cold!!!! I thought I'd try it again today and hay presto it's cold again! Staff are rude and always on their mobile phones in a food production area I will be passing it on again to an environmental health officer this is unacceptable!!
