70th birthday party at the Church Inn, fantastic evening, food was catered and amazing. Staff were so helpful. Amazing atmosphere. A perfect evening

At the moment this place don't serve food ,serves beers & spirits ,providing entertainment on weekends, quiz on Wednesday, friendly staff,nice atmosphere, highly recommend it.

Excellent Sunday lunch and good value, £12.95 for one course, £16.95 and £20.95 represents excellent value when the food is this good and fresh. Couldn't find room for pudding but everything including the service and drinks which were good value were excellent too. Would have been 5 stars had plates been warmer

Visited this evening for Christmas meal and entertainment. Had a fab night as a group of 8 ladies. Delicious food, great entertainment and The Landlady was so welcoming and nothing was too much trouble. We all agreed it was a brilliant night and will definitely be back 👍

Were booked in for a family Sunday lunch and expected your average usual fare. Wow, this was something else. Really delicious food, excellent presentation and attentive service for only £16.95 for two courses, would highly recommend and definitely going back for more.

Always a pleasure. Three starters, mains and desserts, all devoured, can’t fault it. Felt nicely full but not bloated on the way home.

Had a Sunday lunch here. Disappointed as the only roast potatoes they had were cooked in garlic and herbs. I dont like garlic. The veg was very poor just a bowl between 3 of us and not very nice. Expensive for what we had. Wont be going there for Sunday lunch again.

Very disappointed in the Sunday lunch didn't like the way the vegetables were presented. The roast beef was delicious and that is all I ate

Best batter on a piece of fish I've ever had. Staff were lovely

Ordered the battered Haddock with mushy peas and chips... The batter was overcooked and burnt in some parts which made it inedible and also the mushy peas were just garden peas which were as hard as nails... I highly recommend going to a different place

Just had an absolutely fantastic meal, sweatbreads followed by pork belly. While my parents had the roast beetroot, chicken and chorizo risotto, then asian potatoes. All the meals were absolutely top quality, the service was great and a really nice atmosphere on top. The chef is obviously having fun with the menu and I look forward to the next menu change and trying what treats are on offer

We had a lovely night at the church inn. It was a warm and friendly venue for a social evening with friends. The food was delicious and we were well looked after by Mike who was so smiley and helpful. Will definitely return.

The food was stunning, had a pulled lamb and coleslaw flat bread. Totally lush, filling and worth every penny! Excellent service too

First visit last night, overall a good impression but a few tweeks would give it a 5. Welcomed as we came in and shown to a table, weirdly there was a large tool box and some venitian blinds on the floor next to us. Nice service from the waitresses but we were left a long time after delivering our drinks and i had to call someone over eventually to take our order. I had the chicken kebab with a side of chips, the kebab was really tasty but i don't think the chicken was cooked fresh to order, more heated and added, all the same it was nice. The chips were really good too and nice and hot. The candle on our table was old and used, a new one that could have been lit would have been a nice touch. Restaurant was surprisingly quiet for a Saturday but the bar area seemed busy, will definitely return to try something else off the menu.

Top class establishment, been here many times, and always impressed with the meals. Xmas day lunch was fantastic! The welcome from the staff, and the constant strive to make everyone's experience, a pleasurable one, will in my opinion, ensure people go back time and time again AAA****

Disappointed, we booked for an afternoon tea with santa and in the end was a lunch, I did call twice after the booking and not one told me nothing obviously if I was thinking to have a lunch I didn't book for 4 o'clock. The santa was good, decorations good, the food too. The service not we order drinks for a few times to get it, nobody ask if the food was OK or if we want pudding... when we when to look for a waiter she told us the kitchen was close? How can be the kitchen close if you have customers eating? After all we have the dessert.evern to pay we need to go and look for the waiter

We booked a meal one evening when Wales was playing South Africa in the Rugby. From where we were seated we could hear the clash of dinning music and ABBA in the distance on top of the occasional cheers of Rugby fans in the bar. The staff were very friendly and the food appeared quickly. I ordered a decent plate of fish 'n chips and my girlfriend ordered vegan macaroni and cheese which was swimming in oil. Rugby aside, the atmosphere was a bit confused and the veggie option was disappointing though compensated by great service and very friendly staff. Solid but not amazing.

On site parking, smart stylish frontage. Very nice welcome from behind the bar as soon as you enter. Good range of beers and wines etc. Excellent menu of intriguing gastro starters and mains, and the food lived up to its appeal. Excellent friendly and attentive service. Small range of gastro desserts. Excellent evening out.

Visited today with my daughter and a friend for afternoon tea. Exceptionally good, beautifully served on pretty crockery with a lovely table display by a friendly helpful waitress. What a treat! Highly recommended.

my first visit to the church inn waited 1/2hr plus for the meal,roast potatoes were rock hard the veg were tiny in size suspect frozen not fresh and portion for two people in small dish the beef was sliced as thin as ham in my opinion not worth £12.50 ahead on the plus side the waitress staff were very helpful but I won't be having Sunday lunch there again

Great evening meal out with family. Imaginative and varied menu made it hard to choose - and all dishes were excellent,served quickly, presented beautifully, and very tasty.

I really don't want to tell anyone about this gem of a place just in case I'm unable to book again. The food is just fantastic so tasty and fresh. Sunday lunch the roast potatoes are to die for. The Church Inn has a great warm feel to it. A big thanks for the excellent service. This is the place to come to eat and drink. Number one pub in Cardiff.

Lovely sunday lunch and plenty of it highly recommended

Despite living in the area for many years I've never been in, or wanted too. We decided to give it a try as under new management and went with my mum and young daughter. Wow, Beautiful food! If like us you are fed up of chain restaurant's/pubs, give this a go you wont be disappointed. Lovely decor and great service, the staff were very attentive. You can see the new owners have put a lot of time and care into the pub. We will definitely be back, it's great to have a place like this on our doorstep, serving such good food!!

First visit ..food delicious!!!

It was lunchtime and looking for a panini or baguette. Not on the menu but had a snack/starter of focaccia and smoked salmon. Very nice.

Absolutely superb. The best gluten free dish and chips I've ever had. A lovely environment and amazing staff and management. Very highly recommended.

My wife & I stopped unannounced at The Church Inn for a late lunch on Tues 25th May (first-ever visit). Excellent food & service then, and equalled again this afternoon when we brought two friends along - and they were similarly impressed.

Can’t fault it! Never been before, visiting family in the area. Decided on dinner on the spur of the moment, called ahead and managed to grab a table, it was a Wednesday night but quite busy as it was Quiz Night!! Ahem, we won!!!! Menu was select with 3 courses. Understand from the Restaurant Manager that it is changed regularly, so shouldn’t get stale. Food was delivered in good time, despite Manager’s related apologies for delays…..!!! I believe the place has had a change of management and focus, from my point of view, it’s all good!! Check it out

Really shocked at how fantastic a day at the church was. Completely new pub. The decor was clean and classic with a really good outdoor area. We originally popped in for a drink, but the quality of the place combined with really good quality booze we decided to give the food a go. So happy we did, it was amazing! Topped the night off with couple of reasonably priced delicious cocktails. We've been desperately seeking a quality local pub and now we've found it. 100% be back.

Used to be the Bluebell Inn. New Landlady is Nicola. It is very nice and been done out as well to a high standard. New beer garden part under cover and an outside bar and more outside seating as well. The covered part has heaters and the are blanketsfor you to use. Which is a nice touch as the weather is not what it should be at the moment. All New staff and very helpful. First time been since it re opened. Will be going again. Plenty of seating and all Socially Distanced. You need to book in advance at the moment. Well worth a visit particularly if you like Gin. They have 110 different ones to choose from. So that is a lot of visits to do them all justice!

Recently renamed (previously The Bluebell) with new owners, now offering a wide range of food and afternoon tea. We enjoyed Tuesday Tapas. Great value at £10 including a glass of wine, friendly service and nice atmosphere. We sat in the lovely Gin bar and restaurant. If you haven’t been here recently it’s well worth a visit, booking is recommended.
