Takeaway experience We have eaten here before but tonight chose a takeaway Starters prawn on on toast and and soup very tasty. As a takeaway we ordered prawn crackers but didn’t realise we would be gifted a portion too, so had a few too many. Crispy chilli beef was lovely but with respect to the royal massaman curry I-should have paid more attention to the spice guide on the menu as it wasn’t spicy enough for my taste. I requested the lamb shank option but I feel it was more like the standard massaman curry option so not so much worth the premium. We asked for some bean sprouts as a side which were not on the menu but were disappointed to get bean shoots which were not so much to our taste. We will definitely visit again as there is a great choice and Thai wine is also available to give an authentic experience.

Food was very good. I have given 3 stars. Why? When we arrived for our 7pm booking, after ordering our food, we were told we needed to vacate the table at 8.15 for another booking! Our main didnt arrive until 8 and as soon as we finished we were given the bill(we hadnt asked for) - i hadnt even ordered the banana fritters, i was so looking forward to!! I find this very poor and wouldnt have booked if they had told me this when i rang to bk as i hadnt taken a friend out who needed to chat after a bereavement and we felt very very rushed!

Service was pretty poor. Had to ask to order drinks and even then they arrived after the starters had been served. No pleasantries or real customer service offered by either of the staff. Very Disappointing. Food however was delicious and the presentation was lovely.

Love the atmosphere and the staff but there are just so many better thai food places in Leeds. Wanted to be more adventurous and tried the baby crab salad and gosh, really regretted it. It was slightly fishy and just didn't taste fresh at all. Mamamee was quite good but I felt like there was too much seafood (I know, usually I wouldn't complain but it just wasn't very pleasant). Braised duck was the nicest but the braising liquid was so thin and sweet, didn't really taste like braising liquid. I think you will be better off ordering their noodle dishes like pad thai or their steamed sea bass.

This was my 3rd visit to Chaophraya leeds but our first two were over 5 years ago. It seems to have changed quite a bit. I was celebrating my birthday and had brought a cake with me which I had to ask a passing waiter to take when we were sat down at our table as nobody had thought to take it before then. Chaophraya used to do a birthday song/march which they must not do anymore but I didn’t get happy birthday sang either. The server just put the cake on the table, said happy birthday and walked away. There were two candles and sparklers but the candles had blown out while he was walking over so I had nothing to blow out. My family sang happy birthday after he had walked away while we waited for the sparkler to go out. I was also under the impression that people celebrating birthdays are given a free dessert but I wasn’t offered one. The food was nice but the lamb massaman curry wasn’t as nice as it used to be. The rice used to come in a banana leaf which was a nice touch but doesn’t anymore. My son had noodles with beef from the childrens menu but the only piece of beef he tried he spat out. I tried a piece and it was very fatty and chewy. Overall, it was a mediocre experience and not worth the price tag. I definitely wouldn’t choose here for a special occasion again.

Food was ok but the service was terrible honestly. We had a reservation but waited in the doorway for 20-30 minutes just to get a table abd although we were there during the happy hour, because we didn't place the order before the happy hour ended, they didn't want to give us the Happy Hour offer. It's disappointing because the reason why we couldn't place the order quicker is exactly their poor table management. I won't rush back for sure!

I want to be helpful to other consumers and to be honest our visit was really very poor! sorry Thai Edge! We went this evening (Wednesday) and ordered the Duck and a chicken fried rice. I have NEVER had such an awful meal , so we complained. We were not offered an alternative, and when it came to the bill noticed no change to the price. We explained that the duck was inedible (honestly) but had to wrangle at the till for nearly 15 minutes and evenually got a slight reduction on the bill. It wasn't about this at all but it really spoiled our night at seeing the light display in Leeds. No-one even bothered to check if the meal was OK, and it took ages to get someone to our table to address the problem. We felt upset and let down... In this day and age you MUST serve good food, and look after your client, or they won't be coming back! Awful food, awful service - sorry to have to write this but hope it helps others!
