Excellent food and service as usual. Great place to visit. Always great and really good value for money. We are incredibly fortunate to have such a restaurant on our doorstep.

Becoming a regular weekly Lunch at this family restaurant. Bringing friends as well, all impressed with the food and lovely atmosphere / service. Green Thai King Prawn Curry & Spring Rolls or Massaman I love. Have eaten our way through the Menu and all the dishes are excellent. Always book ahead as it is getting popular now as people discover this place.

What an amazing place! The food was literally the best Thai food I have ever tasted!! Well worth the hour and a half drive!! Will one million percent be visiting again and again and again. Humble little place on a busy street you wouldn’t expect, but the food was insane, the service was fantastic, clean, fresh, relaxing atmosphere. Can’t wait to come back and try more from the menu!

The food was delicious. But it’s not just about the food. It took 3 attempts to get some water for the table - there was a sense of reluctance - we had purchased drinks, but wanted water as well - we got it eventually, but why was it so difficult! It would really have impressed me to get a jug of iced water with lemon! There was a (really cute) child running around and causing chaos - I’m assuming she belonged to the owner - I love kids, but it’s not what you want when you’re having a grown up meal with your family. Oh! And the ‘chips’ were fries…… like McDonald’s - yuk We probably won’t be back

What an excellent restaurant. The new owners have 'got it right' we could not fault it. They greeted us very warmly on arrival. The food and service were exceptional. I'm very hard to please but I ate everything they gave me. We will certainly be regulars.great

Came to Thai Basil for a bit of lunch with the family. A warm welcome as soon as we walked in from SU, who sat us down by the window and took our drinks order while we browsed the menu. We order a variety of dishes( sweet and sour chicken. Pad Thai prawn red curry chicken) amongst others. Every dish was amazing. Great flavour and freshly made. Really well priced too. Amazing service and food. Will definitely be back

Food was fine. Small portions especially for the high price even with 10% off for collection. Got food home and was missing the rice we ordered! So was overcharged by twice as much as the discount. Instead were given some ‘free’ soggy prawn crackers. Lost a potential regular local customer at the first attempt.

We drove pass by and thought we might give it a try and noticed they've changed hand. Variety of choices in mains and staters. We went for a mixed starter and panaeng curry and pad thai chicken for mains. The taste of all of them were as nice as the presentation. Overall we will go back for sure.

Lovely food as always! We went here at the weekend with the kids. It was Saturday night and we hadn’t booked. Got a table straight away although lots of other diners already in too, even though we had gone early. We’d got a medley of different dishes for the kids to share as they’re both fussy eaters, they enjoyed it all. We had veg Massaman and Red Thai with king prawns, both were fresh and delicious. We love this place and try to support it as much as we can given it’s local to us and the food, authentic.

We had a pleasant meal last Saturday arrived a little early but we were seated immediately. Starters and mains were very tasty. Will certainly return.

We have been many times to this restaurant and we have never been disappointed The food is always fresh & cooked to perfection and the wine we had was exceptional We had mixed starters of chicken on toast, dumplings & prawns in batter all amazing For our mains we had the Chefs Recommendation of Beef in Black Bean Sauce I had mine with egg fried rice & my husband has the fine noodles and they were lovely Thanks again to all at Thai Basil

Best restaurant in the area! If you've never been, this is a must visit, never disappoints and always speedy and polite service. Staff are fantastic and the food even better!

Lovely meal from a varied menu - Thai cuisine at its best. I particularly enjoyed the Pad Thai but the crispy duck also looked excellent.

Found this whilst staying nearby through trip advisor and we wasn't disappointed. Staff were friendly, service was on point. All the food we had was delicious. Every dish was piping hot and the price was very reasonable. Thank you, and we highly recommend to all.

I cannot recommend this restaurant highly enough. We have been here a few times, but my husband booked a table for my birthday last night. They went to so much trouble for me, balloons, fresh roses on the table and a birthday cake. It was so lovely of them. The food is really superb and gorgeous flavours and so fresh. The rose wine was really good quality and they made us feel so welcome. You must try it. All my family were very impressed. It’s a little gem of a place. They deserve success.

We've not used Thai Basil before, but our usual place was closed so we thought we'd give it a go. We will now be regular customers - lovely food, fresh and light and really tasty, and it was ready exactly when we turned up to collect. Very impressed.

We haven’t ordered a takeaway for quite a long time but have always enjoyed all our meals from here. We ordered to take away…great starters. However, our panaeng Thai curries were quite tasteless and had about 4 little bits of vegetables in each. Unfortunately, we’ve been really disappointed with our meal.

Wow wow wow this Thai restaurant is in the middle of nowhere but worth finding !! Greeted by friendly lady the atmosphere transported you back to Thailand. They have Singha beer too !! The pad Thai is out of this world. If you love Thai food you will love this little gem !!!

Went in as our usual restaurant was shut, so glad we tried here! As soon as you go in you are welcomed with the usual dimly lit Thai restaurant vibe, nice scented candle in the entrance porch area. Ok, the decor could do with updating but it's clean, tidy and does the job. Pretty standard menu with a few extra specials thrown in, one of which I tried. C9 with king prawns. Basically a Thai red curry but spicier and had kafir lime leaves in, was absolutely beautiful. The king prawns were so big I think they should be renamed emporer prawns AND they were cooked perfectly. I was so stuffed but couldn't stop eating it haha! I always choose coconut rice if available and this was one of the best I've ever had. It's usually sticky and quite sweet but this fell apart like plain jasmine rice, tasted of coconut without being overpowering and wasn't sweet at all. We had the vegetable mixed platter (shared) to start, all of which were cooked perfectly and the satay sauce had a nice kick to it. The staff were attentive without being 'in your face' and were very helpful. Over the 2.5hrs we were there, good was served quickly and we never felt like we were out staying our welcome. Restaurant was emptying at around 8.30pm and we were having a much needed catch up. Perfect place and brilliant food, very good value for money. Definitely going to eat here again at some point.

Decided to try Thai Basil again after being a previous customer & reading the recent reviews. So glad we did. Lovely welcome from the start & tasty, well portioned meals with reasonably priced drinks. Not many people dined in - but that wasn't an issue. Takeaway was very busy. Definately visit again soon & highly recommend.

I visited with friends in January 2022 after recommendations from some local people. We were a group of 4, the food was absolutely outstanding. I travel for work a lot and have dined at some really special Asian Restaurants in London and I have to say, this was on par. We ordered the beef black bean, dumplings, a weeping tiger dish and a firecracker seafood dish. Absolutely outstanding and the presentation was very satisfying. It was a lady serving us and she was friendly and polite. Reasonably priced. Will be visiting again in the next few weeks. I wasn’t aware of the restaurant, I don’t think they have a huge social media presence so if It wasn’t recommended to me I wouldn’t have known about it. Highly highly recommend! The building could do with a bit of a spruce up but don’t be put off, the food is what it’s about and it definitely exceeds!

We had a take-out for our wedding anniversary which was absolutely fantastic. Very friendly and helpful when we went to pick it up, and every dish was a delight.

We were staying at the nearby hollins hall hotel and struggled to find somewhere to eat on a Friday night in both Guiseley and Ottley. After turning back to go and eat in the hotel we spotted this just off the main rd and pulled in almost out of desperation! To be honest it looked a bit tacky from the outside but we were hungry and like Thai food so thought we’d give it a go! What a lovely surprise - wonderful food, excellent service and very reasonable. Don’t be put off by the outside - the food was delicious and we enjoyed a variety of starters to share which were beautifully presented. We chose the chicken yellow curry and the beef in oyster sauce for mains and we were not disappointed. Would thoroughly recommend! Staff were attentive but discreet and the bill was a nice surprise! Would thoroughly recommend.

This was the loveliest Thai food I have ever tasted... my 7 year old sons first time trying Thai and he loved it too. We had no idea this place was here... would recommend to anyone who loves tasty food.

Didn't even know it was there! Last minute booking. Beef in black bean sauce was lovely not quite Thai I don't think. Red Thai curry with prawns was lush. Loved it. Waitress was a bit grumpy but the waiter was very friendly. I'd go again.

Don't be fooled by the unprepossessing exterior. The interior is bigger than you'd think and is divided into smaller, intimate areas. Original decor provides a nice ambiance.

We arrived fairly early and the place was deserted but gradually got busier. Extensive menu. My seafood dish was slightly disappointing in that the seafood itself had obviously been re-heated and was therefore a bit dry. The accompanying rice and veg were fine. The veg carved into flowers looked nice on the plate but I didn't see anyone eat them. The waiter and waitress who served us were very efficient. We have been before as it's local to us and we've never had a bad meal.

We were welcomed enthusiastically by the owner and they were knowledgeable about the food. I had the massaman curry which was lovely and the service was very good. Would recommend here for a great Thai meal.

Had lovely starters (soup and chicken wings) great mains (Thai green curry and beef curry) and fantastic banana fritters for desert. 10 out of 10 can't fault it. Felt well looked after and love the decor! Would come again x

We ate here early on a Sunday at 5 p.m. There were no other customers for quite a while, but then it started getting busier. The waiters were very attentive. I ordered the Pad Thai, which was nice; not the best nor the worst Pad Thai I have ever had. My companions were happy with their meals. The tea came in very ornate pots and was good. If I had a very small niggle it would be that the food was brought to us with a couple of minutes in-between each person's dish, rather than all together. Most of the main courses are priced at £8.50, £9.50 or £10.50, with just a few at £13.00. Starters are from £5.25. They also do Set Menus for a minimum of 2 people (mixed starters and a main for around £18.)

I have eaten here on several occasions and never had anything but a good experience. The staff are very friendly and polite and service has always been good.

We had a super meal at the Thai Basil. Excellent service, lovely presentation of the food and flavours that make your tongue tingle. Great choice of entrees. The salmon with ginger, soy and oyster sauce delicious, as was the Pad Thai. We would definitely recommend.

Fue agradable que ofrece un descanso entre los aperitivos y platos principales. Los postres son disponibles pero nos negamos. La factura fue menos de 30 libras por 2.

Yo recientemente recogido comida para llevar desde aquí con amigos. Fue un gran fin de que puesto sobre el teléfono, que era presente y correcta a la llegada. El personal era extremadamente amable. La comida era muy buena, aunque personalmente me pareció un poco caro comparado con otros restaurantes de la zona. Recibimos 10% de descuento sobre el precio del menú para llevar. Pedimos varios platos incluyendo fideos, arroz y curry, entrantes, que todos disfrutamos. El menú era extenso y demostró claramente que eran vegetarianos o nueces platos independientes. Aunque muchos de los platos que había pedido su fideos por separado, aunque eran platos stir fry.

Had a lovely meal for our first visit. Will definitely go again and use the takeaway service at some point. We had a set menu, £14.95 pp 2 course (Tues-Thurs) incl glass of wine. Tasty and very filling. Lots of vegetables, so maybe not for you if you're not a vegetable fan. Looking forward to trying more off the menu. Very friendly staff.

Is such a shame this restaurant is so quiet because the food is so good, we have been a couple of times now and had a few takeaways and are never disappointed. The curries are really good and the ribs are amazing. It has a nice atmosphere and very friendly and helpful staff. I would recommend it.

We visited the Thai Basil on Sunday evening, the place was very quiet with only a handful of people, however the warm welcome we received, the cosy table they sat us at meant it even more special. We both had the superb Tom Kha soup, I had seafood with masses of prawn and muscles and my wife had the mushroom version, the taste is to die for, absolutely exquisite. For the main dishes she had Thai Green curry and I had a red one (can't recall the name), with sticky rice and egg fried noodles as side dishes, again, cooked to perfection. Great service, beautiful food, nice surroundings, next time you are in the area, give them a try, you won't be disapointed

We visited again or a second time and I wonder why I don't come here more often, the food is delicious, staff are really friendly and accommodating and it has a lovely atmosphere about the place. Will definitely be coming back sooner!

We live very near this restaurant but ha e only recently started going - our big mistake!!Could not believe how good it is. I have had a hip operation and have had to do a lot of walking. During my walk I stopped to look at the menu and we went the same night.The set menus are amazing value . I thought we had to pick one item from each course, but no they were all included. We got a plate of delicious mixed starters, then two main courses, plus stir fried vegetables and a bowl of jasmine rice. We all had the beer plus coffees for £14.95. I think it's 12.95 without the drinks. Not sure as hubby paid.Food was excellent quality and beautifully presented. Naturally we went back the following week. Just wish we had found it earlier!!!

We had a family meal to celebrate a birthday - we were pleasantly surprised! The staff are authentic Thai - lovely people - service with a smile! The food was gorgeous - very tasty and beautifully presented - cannot fault it.

My girlfriend and I called in on the spur, and we were sat down straight away, the waiter was polite and attentive, the food was fine nothing spectacular and the price average. We have not returned to dine in but have had nice take away food. The eat in food just seems to lack the lustre of some other Thai restaurants we have visited but then that's only our opinion. Try this cozy family run restaurant it's worth it and you might love it.

We've been to the brilliant Thai Basil in Skipton and the one in Guiseley is equally awesome. Have eaten lots of Thai food all over the world at all ends of the price spectrum from inexpensive street food to high end (literally) on top on The Banyan Tree in Bangkok. Thai Basil never disappoints, the food is great and the staff lovely. Will be going back soon

Feel terrible writing an awful review because the staff were lovely. The food was awful. It was a very expensive way of disguising a mediocre Chinese take-away as Thai. Akin to taking a mallet to a Yorkshire Pudding and calling it a 'crepe'. Thai food should have a lively fresh taste. This was like the bottom of a pond had been dredged, corn flour added and chillies thrown in to disguise the taste. I'm not even going to give this place a second try. It did have a nice car park though....

My husband and I ate here yesterday evening and ordered from the early bird menu (available 5.45-6.30pm). We really enjoyed our food, especially the green curry. The house white wine was good and there was a selection of bottled beers. The service was excellent, its just a shame there were only 3 other tables occupied, perhaps it would be busier later on.

We haven't eaten here for a while and went back on Saturday night, I have to say the food is possibly the best Thai food we have had in all our visits to numerous Thai restaurants.We had fishcakes, spare ribs and Ton Kha soup (seafood), to start, the flavours, specially the soup were fantastic, main courses were Thai Green curry (chicken) and Massaman Chicken, again both dishes were so tasty.The staff are really attentive and nothing is too much trouble, we went at 9.00 Sat evening and couldn't believe how empty the place was, with such superb food, great staff and reasonable price's it should be full every night....try it, you'll love it

Arrived with 8 friends looking forward to an excellent evening of dining . Main meal did not arrive for 1.5 hours it was as if they forgot who came in first, definatley a lack of staff . The curry was watery like soup. I would rate this restaurant 2 out of 10 . It was like no one was bothered . I had good company with friends but will not be returning there are far too many abetter restaurants

We went to this restaurant today as we fancied some Thai food. Was very disappointed, ordered a Thai salad and beef dishes, both was too salty, asked them to do it again they only put some more lemon juice to reduce the salt but was still salty. Very disappointed!!!!!

So sorry, we have been a few times before and the food has been great. We were walking to the white cross and saw your early bird menu offer so came to you instead. Just after 5pm on Sunday, ordered pork toast and chicken spicy salad. You accidentally brought out fish cakes but offered them free. However the chicken salad had a long black hair in it, then the pork toast came out.. burnt outside and raw pork inside. Cancelled order and offered to pay for starters and drinks, charged £5.10, gave £10 and got £4.10 change. Had a bad experience this time, i hope you can take this as constructive criticism.

We came here on Saturday evening and as this was our first visit we did not know what to expect. We where greeted by staff as we came in the door. Seated, menu given and came shortly after for drink order. We had a lovely bottle of Zinfandel Rose and husband had his beer. We chose the set menu for three. When our food arrived it was lovely piping hot and very tasty. We had a rest between courses then our mains arrived again piping hot and delicious flavours. One sweet was ordered and we will definitely be back. Staff are a credit attentive but not intrusive.

This place is ok but nothing amazing. Fish cake starter was nice but spring rolls pretty tasteless. Green curry and massaman were both fine but not as nice as Lana Thai (if that's even open anymore?!) or sukothai in Leeds or Harrogate.

We went to the Thai Basil for an early dinner; although it is meant to have an 'early bird' menu, we never saw it, but were happy to order from the main menu. This is the second time we have visited this restaurant in recent months and the food remains very good. We had spring rolls and Toong Tong as starters and duck as main course, which were very good, the main course being quite substantial. Our friends had seafood and were equally satisfied. The list of desserts was very limited and we decided to give it a miss, and the espresso one of us ordered was a disappointing watery coffee. On the whole, a good place for dinner.

I ordered a take out meal from Thai Basil consisting of two staters, mains with rice and noodles on the side. It was OK, but forgettable. The cost was over 30 quid and the portions were small. A bit bland for the money. I will stick to Saffron Desi in future or try one of the cheaper Thai's in Otley. The food was prepared quickly though and the staff were lovely. I hope it thrives, but I think they need to ratchet down their takeaway prices to attract local customers.

Good service and atmosphere. Food was OK, but quite forgettable. Not the most authentic Thai ingredients used, can't remember button mushrooms and cherry tomatoes on my Thailand travels.It's not a bad place and if you are not Thai or a Thai food connoisseur then you can still enjoy your evening.

We went for a nice meal, not really any occasion but just fancied Thai food. All the food was delicious however the prices compared with Chaopraya in Leeds, a high end Thai restaurant, Other than that a great setting with nice food.

Tried this Thai restaurant for the first time midweek and found it was quite popular. Chose one of the many fixed price menus on offer as it included wine and tea/coffee. There was plenty of both the mixed starters and main courses which included a portion of rice each. Will certainly visit again and perhaps pick dishes from the menu to share so trying different dishes.

Always come here for the lovely food and great service! Recommend! The staff are attentive and when the food arrives it's excellent.
