Amazing experience! I thought I didn’t like Thai food because I’d only tried places like Giggling Squid, but the real thing blew me away! Delicious food, fabulous atmosphere, lovely staff. I might have to go to Thailand, but if not I’ll just keep coming here. Thank you!

We had the great fortune of eating here last night. Oh my god, this has to be the best Thai I've ever had in my life. The food/service/restaurant is beyond amazing. The service was so attentive, however the food was on a different level. This place is a must for anyone who appreciates quality. It's also very reasonably priced. Can't wait to go back, thankyou so much for an amazing experience. 100/10.

We had a rare family day out. We loved the tasteful decor and the staff were attentive. We were not sure what to order as this was our first time eating Thai food in a restaurant. We ordered set menu A and the food was delicious! There was a lot of food and 6 of us couldn't quite finish it. It was very busy and had to wait a little longer for the bill than normal. The music was the only terrible thing, it was quite loud and it was not in keeping with the Thai decor, covers of the Greatest Showman by random artists which weren't great. It was very expensive (£268) but the food quality was amazing. All in all my family had a nice time, enjoyed the food. We will visit again though!

Great service, the pork belly was some of the best I've had outside of east Asia.

The sharing platter for two was delightful, but the pad prik gang and gai tod prik gang were quite disappointing. However, after I mentioned this to Mariel, the waitress, she sincerely apologized multiple times and offered to prepare a different dish, the pad thai, as compensation for the meals we didn’t enjoy. I would recommend returning again.

Great taste and excellent service. The atmosphere is great. Halal chicken and duck. Parking on road possible but also on car parks close by.

Booked for a family birthday, hoping for something a bit special - couldn’t have been happier with the choice. The food was great with a massive selection in the menu, but it’s the service that makes it extra special. Not the cheapest place, but definitely perfect for a special occasion or splurge.

We were a last minute booking for 20 people on a busy December night. The staff accommodated us with ease, gave amazing, friendly service and fantastic food. Couldn’t fault it. Thank you.

Went in a group of 15 people . Great communication from booking to the date of the meal. Lots of parties in that night but got seated within 15 minutes of entering for our booking time of 7pm . Only thing that could have been better was for all of us to be sat at the same table (4 sat at another smaller table behind the main party) . Service was excellent and they had just started the Christmas menu that night . Service was above expectations and even after being told that some dishes may be done before others the whole party agreed that that wouldn't matter. Asked if there were people with allergies so that food could be cooked separately. The food was piping hot and my gosh very generous portions ,absolutely delicious food. We were due to leave at 9 however the whole party stayed beyond that but we were not hurried out . We all would definitely recommend a visit and book before you go but you can just walk in .

Fantastic vegan choices. Went for an early meal before the theatre last night. The vegetarian menu was plentiful, we advised we were vegan and it was explained that anything deep fried (e.g. vegetable spring rolls) were cooked in same fryer as other foods, in case that was an issue (cross contamination isn't an issue for us, it is for some - so they can choose options that aren't deep fried). We were also asked about allergies. All the vegetarian mains were available with either tofu, This isn't chicken or Zeaster vegan prawns - we eat a lot of tofu at home so went for the chic*n with a mushroom and vegetable stir fry and the green curry pr*wns. Both were delicious! We shared vegetable spring rolls for the starter (again delicious) and jasmine rice with our mains - plentiful and a great price. We also had a large zinfandel and a fruit cider - came to £60 total including tip 👍🏻 We will definitely be back and recommend for vegans in or visiting Leeds 👍🏻☺️

Whilst Thai is not my first choice, my team decided they wanted to go to Sukhothai after a day’s work. I’d never been before, but the food was very good and the service excellent. There was about 20 of us and everyone enjoyed it. If you like Thai food - highly recommended

I'm a fussy eater and was pleasantly surprised at the varying options even on the xmas menu. Food was great but the drinks service was a let down. Ordered drinks, 1 turned up but the other 2 took a reminder 15 mins later and then turned up 10 mins after that. Otherwise everything else was great.

Really enjoyed our visit. There was 20 of us for the bottomless brunch and we were all served quickly. The food was really tasty and they were very attentive with the drinks. Such good value for money, will definitely be back.

Food was amazing service no so good!! We went for a family meal (we’ve been previously for a number of family occasions - birthdays etc) and the food was amazing, as usual, but the service was TERRIBLE! We were seated in the private dining room and the service was incredibly slow and not what you would expect from this restaurant - the staff are usually very attentive but it felt like we had the apprentices tonight! Not impressed!

Stunning food, really warm and welcoming staff team.

We really enjoyed the meal. Great food and very helpful staff. Service slowed down a bit when it got busy, but I guess that's normal. The restaurant was packed by the time we left. Obviously popular. The rib eye was so nice,and they catered for me by using a slightly less spicy sauce.

One of the best around when it comes to Thai food

As usual it was a unplanned stop off for a bite to eat. I've never heard of it before so I had no idea what it was like. There is an extension Thai menu selection so there plenty to choose from and at very reasonable prices. The portion sizes are very reasonable and I didn't even manage to finish my meal. The staff were fantastic and very efficient. Overall a wonderful experience and recommend anyone that like Thai food to give it a try.

Very happy with our bottomless brunch - the food arrived quickly and was delicious, especially the prawns, and the drinks kept flowing. Great as always.

A superb visit to Sukhothai! We had the Sunday Buffet, all brilliantly cooked and presented. Service is exceptional, super efficient. The highlight was how kind and helpful they were to our kids (both under 4) who ate for free. They repeatedly offered to cook something different for them if the buffet was too spicy. Plus offered them ice cream for dessert instead.

Lovely food, but was a long time waiting for the food.

We all got charged 10% tip that we didn’t agree on paying. I read the receipt multiple times and I couldn’t fathom why we had to pay 10%. We still payed it but we all feel scammed of our money. The lady giving us our bill also nearly tried to take more money from one of my friends even though she was one of the first to pay. Never going here again. (The mixed race waiter and the bartender were fine though).

A very nice restaurant in the heart of Leeds city centre. Lovely ambience in the restaurant full of Thai artefacts and Buddha statues. The wait staff were very polite and helpful. A 10% optional service charge is automatically added to the bill.

Very nice place, the decor and the food is wonderful and service outstanding 🤗 really positive experience. Atmosphere was perfect, not too loud not too quiet, able to enjoy conversation with tasteful music in the background. Will definitely be coming back!

Amazing food, great cocktails and impeccable service. The only nuance is that the menu was sticky, could have done with a wipe but wasn't a huge issue.

Sunday buffet is great but the service wasn’t the best. Had to go to the bar to order a drink as nobody came to our table for 10 minutes, same for the bill.

Had a lovely dinner with my girlfriend here for our anniversary. The service was great and the food was delicious, certainly worth the price and matches the appearance of the restaurant which is perfect for photos.

This is the best place for a Thai meal. It is more on the expensive side but definitely worth and get what you pay for. The service was amazing! We got seated within 5 minutes and the food came out surprisingly quickly. I genuinely wouldn’t recommend this place enough!

Great place for a Thai meal. I would reserve for special occasions as some menu items can be on the pricier side but it is well worth the visit. I have been 3 times now and the service has always been excellent and the food is always great

Fantastic! Went for the bottomless brunch on 27 July and we were so well looked after, food was excellent and the drinks were flowing. On the tablet they gave us to rate the service, I accidentally selected that they didn't ask about allergies, but they did, several times, so just want to rectify that mistake! 100% recommend, can't wait to go back!

Despite 'Leeds prices', especially for the drinks, the starters were really nice and everybody enjoyed the food. Found my dish quite underspiced and they definetly cater for western palette.

Overall, we were not impressed by the quality of the main ingredients (beef slices were on the tough side, the steamed sea bass did not taste particularly fresh), but the curry sauce itself and the steamed dumplings were very tasteful. The special seasonal starter (kind of chicken fritters / cakes) in the menu were also a bit uninspiring, tough and lacking a bit of flavour overall.

Been here twice . Travelled extensively in Thailand … and I can honestly say this food is authentic and amazing . Lovely staff , very helpful and I will definitely go again . ❤️10/10 food . Thank you guys

I had an extremely disappointing experience at Sukothai during a friend’s graduation night. Despite having a reservation, we were made to wait for a table. Once seated, it took ages for us to get the menu. The service was incredibly slow throughout the evening. Adding to the frustration, every other table celebrating graduation received free drinks, but our table was completely ignored. To make matters worse, these drinks were listed on our bill, even though we never received them. It was free but I don’t understand why they would add it to the bill if it was never served. The food was also a letdown for me and another friend, we ordered the same dish. We ordered Pad Kee Mao which has a 3-chilli rating, expecting it to be spicy, but it was surprisingly sweet and lacked any heat. Although our other friends liked what they ordered and their food was good. Overall, the terrible service ruined what should have been a special night. I won’t be returning to Sukothai or recommend it to anyone after this. I heard good reviews about the place but my own experience was so disappointing. Maybe they are good when they are less occupied but they certainly can’t handle having a busy night.

They have a lot of vegetarian/vegan options, which is great, I’ve asked for two tofu plates but I could’’ve asked for vegetarian chicken or some other vegan protein, pretty good options. The décoration is beautiful and tematic. The downside for me is the noise, it was quite loud and the restaurant wans’t even fully packed. Also, service was not great, had to wait a lot for food or to order my food.

Five of us had a really nice dinner here. Our starters and mains were delicious and a decent size. Prices were fair for food and drinks. Bar staff & waitresses were attentive. The question is , would we return ? Absolutely. Enjoy.

I got Food Poisoning (not merely energy) from a sea bass I ate in this restaurant. The service was ok, and the atmosphere was good; but it seems that the sea bass I ate was not fresh or well-cooked. I couldn’t sleep that night due to the reaction in my stomach and I’m still feeling week now

Fantastic experience here for my sisters birthday brunch. The food, service, atmosphere and drinks were all lovely. Smart decor and clean toilets and a birthday sing along for my sister made it even better! We never had an empty drink and the food was great quality, all for just £36 a head if I remember correctly- amazing!

Unbelievably good!! I ordered a Chicken Gang Ped and honestly I can't describe the depth of flavour in the sauce! My wife said (insert stir fry dish name as I have forgotten) was top level and the sharing starter was all beautiful. Excellent experience, we will be back!

I am sorry but I was expecting something much better for a Sunday "premium" buffet. Poor choice of "Thai" cuisine. It was either super salty or very spicy food selection, nothing different from any other mediocre buffet restaurant - perhaps even worse than that! Crispy chicken was chewy, and the beef was way overcooked, chicken stay/skewers cold. Desert options very limited, not even an ice cream. Made a reservation for 8 people, and requested to be sat in a convenient and slightly separated area so we can hear each other. We know there were VIP places available to book but that is not the issue. Our table was crammed between diner seating and stair railing. Nobody at our table could go top up plates without disturbing each other. Even the waitress couldn't easily take our drinks order - that is how badly crammed in we felt like. Every bit of space taken by another table leaving very little room to navigate. The above just added to the poor atmosphere and the bad ambient music which was some old pop songs - nothing authentic. It was our first time there and we were not given any guidance or introduction to the restaurant. We even said that it is our first time and even after that prompt we got nothing. Our drinks arrived late, after everyone already managed to start eating. The staff was friendly and looked like the chefs were busy so I do think it is just heavily miss-managed and not the fault of employees. Maybe the restaurant part is better but definitely do not do the buffet.

We booked a table for 2 on the phone with fingers crossed (knowing how busy they were!) so we felt incredibly lucky to be told that they did have a table - especially after a long long uncomfortable journey to Leeds we were ready for some relaxation, some good food in a lovely setting and an ambient atmosphere... and this readers, is exactly what we got from the minute we arrived. We received a warm welcome, asked to take a seat and were given a menu to peruse. Whilst waiting for a table to become available I had the immense pleasure of just looking round and admiring all the lovely Thai artefacts - especially the gorgeous chandelier lights hanging above the bar. We were shown to our table by the window and it wasn't long before another server came to take our order. For a starter I chose the king prawns in tempura batter, my husband chose the scallops in something or other (?) For the main I choose a green Thai chicken curry and my husband had the crispy pork belly - both plates came with rice. When the food arrived, my green Thai curry dish was full to the brim in a metal dish which was placed over a flame .. There was so much of it.. and the crispy pork belly was also served in a separate bowl so that you could chose and help yourself to what and how much you wanted The food was absolutely delicious !, my curry was yummy ... double yummy! But as nice as it all the food was, I sadly struggled to finish all my curry (first ever!!) the pork belly got finished (of course!) Would we come back if ever in Leeds again? Yes, without doubt! It was all excellent from arrival to departure Thank you for a pleasant evening with excellent food and service ขอบคุณ 🙏

As a Canadian tourist venturing far from London, I was surprised to find such a great Thai restaurant in Leeds.

We went to Sukothai for a large leaving do. The staff managed to get all the food to the right people and bills were sorted out without calculators. The food was excellent staff were super efficient. We had a lovely evening.

Good service, initially a couple of tables away there was a table of 4 who were quite loud and I thought it would spoil our evening so asked if we could be moved which they did. Love the decor of the restaurant and the low lighting. Food was lovely as was our server Pear, took time out to chat. We had a lovely little desert to celebrate our anniversary. Would return if we went to Leeds again and would reccomend

In Leeds for a concert we chose Sukhothai for our evening meal. As it was Friday the restaurant was very busy, even at 6pm! The atmosphere was buzzy and all staff were personable and friendly. On the whole the food was very good. I really enjoyed my Tom-Yum soup and my Massaman curry was full of flavour. My wife was similarly praiseworthy of her stir-fry; however my son was disappointed with his Pad Ga Prao which came with minced chicken (not mentioned on the menu) which was far too salty. I tasted it and it was! Despite the salty chicken there was enough quality on offer to warrant another visit.

50+ minutes after ordering, 4 people were served a snack platter with water.

First time trying the buffet here. The organisation was great. Place was full but there was plenty of space. Lots of choice of starter and mains and also some desserts. Service was excellent with waiters and waitresses very friendly,polite,helpful and often checking that everything was ok.

One of the finest Thai restaurants I have visited... The service and reception was mind blowing... Everyone had beautiful smiles on their faces... The food looked amazing, the taste was out of this world and great quality... I had a lot to eat and drink... If you are looking for a fancy and beautiful place to chill, on a date, dinner or a small gathering... Go check it out. 5 stars well earned...

The service was impeccable, very quick, everything out immediately and cleared immediately. my only issue was the dish i ordered which was the som tum salad which i was not a fan of. Other than that an amazing place for a great thai night out!

Visited early evening and the restaurant was busy. Service quick and polite. I had the chicken toast to start and a Thai green curry - both really nice. Prices reasonable for what we got. Would happily go back next time we're in Leeds.

I visited sukothai in Leeds and I have to say this is my new favourite place. Firstly the decor when you walk in is warm and inviting and very traditional, the staff are authentic and friendly. Service was brilliant and food was brought to the table in a timely manner, now to the food....amazing!! The presentation, the flavours and smells are just fantastic. They are good sized portions and very filling, I honestly wasn't expecting to love this place as much as I do and I will most definitely be back. Only thing to be careful about is the parking outside cos we got a ticket but that's nothing to do with the restaurant, can't fault this place at all, well done sukothai, you made this an extremely pleasant experience and have a customer for life now

We booked a table of 4 for 7:30pm on Valentine’s Day! When we arrived there was a massive build up of people at the entrance making it all crammed and uncomfortable. We got told that our name wasn’t on the booking system even though we had proof of our booking for that date and time. Then we had to wait 25 minutes for a table to finally be free, other people around us also said they booked a table for 7:30 and also was sat around waiting for 20-25 minutes. Once we were sat, we were waiting around 15 minutes to get our orders taken, (we got told that we could order food off the set meal and the actual main menu but when we got there we got forced to just order the set meals which was a big disappointment as some of us were allergic to certain meals) Once we got our order taken, we waited 1hr and 30mins for our starters to arrive, they arrived cold. Then we waited another hour for our mains to arrive, then another 30-40 minutes for our desserts to arrive too, which the desserts were a complete disappointment. We arrived at 7:30 and left around 10:15pm, many people around us also complained about the wait time and how unorganised everything was. Will not be coming again. Completely disappointing as I have been here before and it was amazing. Would not come here ever again.

The food is so good!! Tastes exactly like food in Thailand (I’m Thai so I would know haha!) but yeah overall the service was amazing and the staff are so kind and welcoming.

The menu is really huge, which was off-putting and nearly stopped me booking. However, I'm glad I did... we all had great meals! We were seated next to the kitchen, so all the food prep was clearly on show. We were a large group and chose many things to share (which I'd recommend). Service was great... and I can also mirror the previously mentioned recommendation of trying the Roaring Ribeye... it was excellent! Based on our evening I'd recommend this restaurant for sure... we had no complaints at all.
