Food was very good. I have given 3 stars. Why? When we arrived for our 7pm booking, after ordering our food, we were told we needed to vacate the table at 8.15 for another booking! Our main didnt arrive until 8 and as soon as we finished we were given the bill(we hadnt asked for) - i hadnt even ordered the banana fritters, i was so looking forward to!! I find this very poor and wouldnt have booked if they had told me this when i rang to bk as i hadnt taken a friend out who needed to chat after a bereavement and we felt very very rushed!

Very strange restaurant operations with no updated Facebook and Google map opening hours. I cannot understand how they earned money and paid the empty rent. Several times they did not open and wasted my time already, I decided to give up eating there until further improvements.

Fantastic food and great service, went on Saturday eve and ordered in for takeout, the guy was absolutely rushed off his feet with customers but made time to make it work to get us our food, and was it worth it ! The food was incredible, awesome flavour and texture and felt great after not heavy like some places, all the starters were superb and can’t knock it for the price, less than £60 for 3 of us with lots left over ! Fantastic. A beautiful establishment, unassuming from the outside but on entering, the diner is met with delicious aromas and a warm greeting. BYOB keeps prices down and the food is incredibly quick at arriving. Looks to be a converted house, well done guys, we will definitely be back 😊

We recently got back Krabi, Phuket and Phi Phi and the food here is as good if not better than anywhere we ate in all of Thailand. Also, very authentic to the Thai cafes all over the areas we visited. Service is always amazing. Don’t have a bad word to say about this place.

Very small restaurant, bringing your own drinks, My fish cake starter was rubber like and not the texture of fish. Other starters in the group were fine. My main was nice but not outstanding.

One of the best Thai meals outside of Thailand. All dishes were excellent, fresh ingredients and extremely tasty. Generous portions all beautifully presented. Warm friendly staff who despite being very busy made time for us and was very friendly, welcoming and also professional. We had a perfect meal and a perfect evening reminding us of our many visits to SE Asia. Thank you.

This small and charming restaurant delivers a friendly atmosphere, reasonable prices and fantastic Thai food! We will definitely go again. But call in advance for takeaway and make a reservation for Friday or Saturday because they get really busy.

Best Thai food I've had in years!! The meat was so tender, the pastry and batter super crispy, the flavours in all the dishes very different and each delicious. Even the prawn crackers were interestingly spicy! The lamb massaman curry was particularly good

If you want something posh or a fine dining kind of atmosphere then perhaps not. But if you want an authentic and tasty Thai meal packed full of flavour then I personally haven't had better! Every dish was superb! A real quirky little gem that'll I'll be visiting again at every opportunity. Ran by two very hard working people that do their very best to ensure everyone is looked after.

Just been to Nam Jai That with friends. It was a lovely surprise. Food was the best green veg curry with Jasmine rice that I have had. Everyone was very pleased with their meal. Will definitely be back. The waiter/owner was very lovely and busy.

Without a doubt one of the most authentic Thai restaurants you can visit. The team of only two people work so incredibly hard to provide excellent quality food at incredibly reasonable prices. The atmosphere is good but because the counter is at the rear of the narrow cafe style BYO restaurant and it's incredibly popular for take aways you can sometimes feel interrupted when dining in.

Booked over the phone Traveled all the way there and as sat down just says “cash only” Said I can do a cash transfer and he just said “No” Rude! Won’t be going again!

What a little gem! Tried it 'by accident' last night when our 2 local pubs had no table availability - and what a favour they did us! Food was superb and so reasonably priced. Will definitely make this a regular place to eat.

Fantastic takeaway and small restaurant. I'd defo recommend bringing your own wine or drink of choice. Thai prawn crackers Try the sharing platter. Namjai mix for 2 Try everything! This time I had Gai Yang (chicken thigh) yum And the wife ate pawn Gang Panang! Sticky rice and chips We left full, tipsy and happy Good value for 40ish pounds The staff are always very polite and accommodating. This restaurant is a favourite of mine and the wife. We are so happy that it has returned to normal service again and not just takeaways. We will be back again soon thank you

Don’t let kerb appeal put you off ,it’s on bend on a main road ,very basic inside BUT what a fantastic friendly couple ,the place was fully booked but if we could be in and out before the table was needed we could stay ,so glad we did was gorgeous I had chicken skewers ,weeping tiger and pad Thai noodles ,my friend had veggie spring rolls and a veggie curry and noodles ,the steak was gorgeous not as hot as I have had before but a good thing as I could taste it 🙈 just a really lovely evening with fantastic food ,take your own booze and book !

Some really good food. One of the best Thai I have had. Only problem is that its never open. I think this kinda adds to it like a pop up cafe. Would definitely recommend eating in. Lots of cool stuff on thr walls from the owners travels.

Friends and I ordered a takeaway from here for the first time at the weekend and were suitably impressed at the great quality and tasting food. Usually our favourite Thai restaurant is My Thai in Leeds but we've finally found a local place to rival it! We will be ordering from here A LOT in the future. Thanks for a fantastic meal.

Good (rather than great) Thai food at a fair price with substantial portions. We've been back several times since our first visit about six months ago so we must like it. Their COVID-19 precautions are good but unfortunately they only take cash which is a bit of a pain in the bum.

First time I have tried Nam Jai Thai, food was amazing and you can tell ingredients are of high quality. Unfortunately due to lockdown I could only get a takeaway, but will definitely make a visit to the restaurant when the lockdown ends. I have traveled throughout Thailand and can honestly say thet the food is authentic and takes me back to great memories of Siam.

Excellent Thai food. Unfortunately only open for takeout at the moment but it's a great takeout. We've had one a few times recently and they are excellent and also always ready bang on time. Friendly service too.

I’ve lived in Ilkley for 8 years, my most recent 4 years in Menston and why I’ve never tried this place is beyond me! This is probably THE BEST THAI TAKEAWAY I’VE EVER HAD ... everything was sooo tasty and fresh and clean, can’t wait to order my next one! Thank you!

Used this restaurant frequently but for their take away service. Always great food at competitive prices.

My first visit but prompted by my daughter who had been before. Very small so perhaps best to book ahead - we were warned that we had to be away by 8:00 so adjusted our arrival time accordingly. Food was very good. Worth noting that it's cash only and BYO if you want booze. The range of drinks offered in house was pretty (too?) basic. However water was offered regularly - very good. Certainly would like to go another time or maybe try a takeaway.

I love Thai food and on the whole have had very good experiences at this resturaunt which lets you bring a bottle of your favourite rather than be tied to inhouse drinks and so I was disappointed when I asked for a vegetarian version of Pad thai and was given the traditional Pad thai which as well as having Tofu has Chicken in it, I didn't complain and instead gave the dish to my partner who eats meat, at the end of the evening I pointed out the mistake and the owner got very angry and asked ''are you going to phone the police on me' and played a sort of victim role with his regular customers and sure enough they came to his defence, so not only was I served up chicken but I was made to feel like some bad customer for pointing it out, I didnt go back for a while but my family like Thai so I went again months later and the owner reminded me of the incident and acted very controlling over the fact that I had returned, for this reason a highly recommend not going here because when you go out to a restaurant you should not be treated like this and certainly not treated like this when they have made an error with your food that goes against everything you stand for.

Cuando llegamos allí, nos ofrecieron uno cerca de la entrada del baño o uno cerca de la puerta principal. Elegimos el que está cerca de la puerta principal del que pronto nos arrepentimos. Había gente constantemente entrando y como la puerta no se cerraba correctamente, había una corriente constante y tuvimos que seguir cerrándola. Si hubiéramos elegido el asiento cerca de la entrada del baño, habríamos tenido personas constantemente mirando por encima del hombro, esperando comida para llevar. No hay situación ganadora.He tenido varias comidas tailandesas antes y la comida no era excepcionalmente buena como la gente había revisado anteriormente. La fuente de entrada era grasosa y medioka. El arroz pegajoso era blanda y cuando le dije al personal que realmente no estaba tomando el comentario en cuenta. Le dije que tenía thai antes, así que sé cómo debería ser. No creo que el personal fuera muy atento, ya que siempre estaban constantemente hablando por teléfono o tratando con comida para llevar.

Nam Jai Thai Otley. We have enjoyed Thai food here and visited at lunch time. However they do not serve food now at lunch but evenings only. What a pity. The lunch menu was fixed menu and very good food.

We had a lovely warm day out in Otley, it was warm so we didn't fancy a Stew over the road and stumbled in here. The place was empty however all the tables said Reserved except one. We plonked ourselves down, and the waiter/owner said we would have to be away for 20:00 as it was about 18;15 no problem, but still empty. My partner pointed out it was unlicensed which again no problem as we would be away and I was driving. Again she spotted cash only, so we had a quick check of wallets. We ordered and within 15 minutes it was a 'mad house' people arriving all over the place. We enjoyed a really good Thai meal as good as any City Centre one and much more reasonable in price. The couple running it were working incredibly hard one front of house one in kitchen. We realised our table would be back out so it was going to be a long session for them. We were lucky I suggest booking if you want to go here, and bring some alcoholic drink.

La comida en Nam es simplemente increíble. El menú del almuerzo es 8. 50 por 2 platos y una bebida. . . . No digas más.El pollo satay es hermoso, el mejor que he probado. Tuve el curry massaman para main que era tan sangrientamente sabrosa que podía comerlo todos los días y nunca aburrirme. No puedo esperar para volver a esta pequeña joya acogedora.

Chanced upon this tiny little Thai restaurant during a weekend visit to Otley.

Average food, inconsiderate staff and tiny premises. Had to weave through the tables to wait for takeaway food that had been ordered to be ready at that time, constantly having to move out of the way because the place was so small.

This is such a great little restaurant, came Sunday night as I couldn't be bothered cooking, the food is wonderful, can't remember what we all had but we're definitely going to go back to try more of the menu!

Hemos visitado Nam Jai varias veces desde que nos mudamos a Otley hace aproximadamente 2 años y nunca nos impresiona, ya sea que estemos comiendo en el restaurante o pidiendo comida para llevar. Realmente es nuestro lugar al que ir en Otley. El servicio es excelente, la comida es tan fresca y sabrosa, y los currys rojo y verde son simplemente impresionantes. Una verdadera joya!

Had the dumplings, ribs and sattee for sharing stater between 5 and then I had the red curry with sticky rice. Absolutely lovely!

Hidden gem! Great fresh, delicious food! The weeping tiger is a favourite of mine. We have visited her with friends and family and the food has always been fantastic. The staff are friendly too.

Un poco restringido en el espacio, pero la bienvenida y la hospitalidad fue enorme. El propietario explicó todas las opciones de comida y menú (muy atractiva dama tailandesa vestida tradicionalmente), te hace sentir muy bienvenido. No tienen licencia, por lo que, si lo deseas, puedes llevar tu propio vino / cerveza. Casi demasiado para elegir, pero hacen algunas comidas fijas que hacen que sea más fácil y divertido elegir un grupo. Es un lugar muy pintoresco que, con suerte, prosperará ya que son muy genuinos acerca de su establecimiento.

You won't be disappointed! It's a small place and booking might be a good idea if your thinking of going at the weekend. I can't recommend the Nam Jai Thai enough. It's a really nice place with excellent friendly service and authentic food at very very reasonable price. Have been many times and it's always been excellent! 11/10.

Brilliant little Thai. Only small but well worth a visit

Had a lovely evening out with friends. I, had a coconut chicken dish, unfortunately the chicken was only tepid. Didn't want to spoil the night by complaining. All my friends liked their food. Was. Busy for a Wednesday evening. Hoping to go back sometime.

A small, no frills restaurant, but the food is exquisite and the servings large. It was almost like being back in Bangkok, except for the temperature outside being 8C.

A local favourite for us here in Otley. Food always fresh and very tasty. Staff are efficient, friendly and look after every customer very well. Their currys are a real treat!

The (4) of us had all lived in Asia, so we could smell the real thing. We had several things to share (which does not seem to be the going thing.. but I highly recommend it!). We had a selection of 2-3 starters, 1 fish main (EXcellent!), coconut rice, and 2 other dishes. ALL great ! Server was good, and helpful. Lovely to peek in the kitchen and see the chef and lady in training learning the skills. Restaurant was full on a week night.

We pass this place routinely, but have avoided going in, as Thai restaurants can be awful or awesome. This is neither, just very nice. Small scale, unpretentious, and good to have nearby.
