Thai Edge - Leeds in Leeds

I want to be helpful to other consumers and to be honest our visit was really very poor! sorry Thai Edge! We went this evening (Wednesday) and ordered the Duck and a chicken fried rice. I have NEVER had such an awful meal , so we complained. We were not offered an alternative, and when it came to the bill noticed no change to the price. We explained that the duck was inedible (honestly) but had to wrangle at the till for nearly 15 minutes and evenually got a slight reduction on the bill. It wasn't about this at all but it really spoiled our night at seeing the light display in Leeds. No-one even bothered to check if the meal was OK, and it took ages to get someone to our table to address the problem. We felt upset and let down... In this day and age you MUST serve good food, and look after your client, or they won't be coming back! Awful food, awful service - sorry to have to write this but hope it helps others!

Absolutely amazing food, the tempura vegetables in the mixed starter are beautiful and the Thai Green curry I had was monumental!! Best I've had in fact. Fantastic value, amazing food!

Poe Tak (similar to Tomyam) is very authentic. So niceeeee. It can fresh your day. A bit spicy for me. But with rice it’s heaven.

Overall average experience. Service was good. Food was slightly on the pricier size for the portion. Taste was ok.

Went on a Sunday for the buffet, but wasn't on without notice. 😕 However the food we did have was excellent 👌 Poor atmosphere as we were one of2 tables only in there Service ok, but a bit slow, especially when we wanted another drink. Prices ok.

When we came in we got guided to are seats in seconds looked really unique in a good way I've never seen it before in Thai restaurants the menu had a lot of variety we ordered and the people came to us in seconds we got are food and it came out in minutes Starters were amazing Seconds later are mains Come delicious!!!! Had the Chicken Pad Thai & Chicken Gyozas. Both were excellent. I would happily eat in or take out again in the future.

Nice venue in a good location but felt disappointed with the food. I couldn’t finish my red Thai because it didn’t taste quite right and I’ve had a bad belly to follow. Take from that what you will.

I had both lunch and dinner in Thai Edge almost every Sunday for the buffet. The buffet menu serves a wide range of choices from starters (13 options) to main courses (cannot count). That's why I spent many times here to enjoy each of them properly. I love all the foods and I love Chilli paste seafood more. The price is reasonable for such great quality of foods, attentive staffs (especially the girl taking care of the buffet area in the yellow shirt) and 5-star atmosphere. I highly recommend it to all those who fall in love with Thai food.

Deep fried tofu taste really good. Good for people drinking wine and chatting, not for people focusing on food. The restaurant was nicely decorated, with a good view of millennium square through a ceiling to floor window. If you dislike other Asian restaurants which are too packed, this one would be a good alternative. It was spacious and the table was not too close to each other.

Just been here as we visited Leeds as a family of 3. Very polite and friendly staff, pleasant atmosphere. Food is of great taste and quality. Thank you!

Food is piss poor compared to actual Thai food, it's basically water broth.

It was a really pretty place and the waiter we had was very friendly but the food was freezing cold, and the wait times were really long, it ended up being really disappointing, left feeling robbed of £50 for cold food that tasted like an old flavourless takeaway that had been sat in the freezer.

I went with my husband for what we hoped would be a special Valentine's meal. Our bus ran late, but we called ahead to let them know and we actually arrived at 7.43 for our 7.30 table. We got sat straight away but then waited ages for someone to take our order. Then we waited ages for our drinks to come. We were warned that there would be a little wait for food, but we noticed other people arriving and getting their food before us. Someone finally came to the table at about 9, with our mains! They took them away and said our starters would be with us shortly. So at 9.15 starters came. They were ok. Then our mains followed at 9.30. They were nothing special and I think had been put somewhere to keep warm as my noodles were very sticky. I'd wanted to go as I love Thai food and I'd been to Thai edge years ago and really enjoyed it, but this was a massive let down. I gave the service two stars because the staff were very polite and also took a few pounds off the bill without us mentioning anything, don't know if this was a mistake because they never said anything to us about it. I gave the food 2 stars because my husband liked his starter but the rest of it was nothing special at all. We had a rose and a candle on the table hence the 3 stars for atmosphere. Overall, such a disappointment.

The worst service. We waiting for our food for more than 1 hour and wasn't full order. The last dish came when we finished. I am not recommended this restaurant.

Very tasty Thai food, which was fresh and served without too long a wait. Prices were also reasonable and met our expectations for the meal. Only thing lacking was the dessert options, which were quite limited and on the night had what we would have liked missing.

Really disappointed at the buffet like they are not even trying and the interior of this once lovely restaurant is looking very tired and unappealing toilets dirty lights not working fish tank looked like wasn’t maintained. Service very poor sat for ages without drinks as no staff serving

I had dumplings to start and a massuman curry with Thai rice for main. All the food was pretty good, not spectacular but enjoyable. The portions were generous. Service was pleasant. The restaurant itself was pretty quiet but it was a Monday night in January. My main gripe was how cold it was. It’s quite a big place and so maybe they’re used to more customers warming the place up. But I was cold the whole way through the meal. I’d try somewhere different next time.

We were a party of 4. The 2 young persons chose from the buffet which offered a wide selection of dishes which they enjoyed. My husband and l ordered a la carte. I had a sample of the duck salad from the buffet and that was tasty. We ordered the Tom Kha prawn soup which had delicate yet spicy flavour that we found delightful. It had an authentic Thai flavour. It was also a sizeable portion so we shared it as we didn't want to overload before the main course. I am a lover of duck so l went for the Duck with pineapple and was very happy as it was better than expected! My husband had a beef dish that he also enjoyed. We were too full to have dessert but those on the buffet didn't look appealing. I found the service to be a little wanting but waiters were pleasant.

Despite the oversight in acknowledging the special occasion, the delicious fare earns this establishment a solid rating, hoping that future visits might capture the essence of both culinary excellence and thoughtful customer service.

Great food friendly staff very efficient.

1st visited this restaurant a few years ago. We had just escaped from the extortionately priced Christmas market, we didn't have a reservation but they took pity on us, took us in and served us lovely food. Visited again in December 23 almost by chance, great food, good service and a nice atmosphere.

first time visiting this Place . staff very attentive . I always try the Pad Thai when i go for a Thai meal . This place did not disappoint . Plenty of flavour & good amount of chicken . Its not a cheap place but the food is worth it . Its placed right on corner of Millenium square so i bet it does get very busy .

Nice venue and very friendly staff but found the food lacking depth of flavour. The mixed vegetable tempura was more like deep fried fish, not light at all like tempura is supposed to be. One item in it was just a thin quarter of of a carrot wrapped in batter. Wouldn't recommend unless you're after a basic noodle dish.

Ordered a takeout from here tonight and this is all i got when it arrived - nowhere near a suitable portion. For £30 this isn't good enough.

I've been here twice now. First time was great, the food is very tasty and no issues. Second time, the staff were clearly overloaded as it took a while to get served; one of the party asked for allergen advice but nobody came back to us about that; and the restaurant was really cold...but the food was as good as the first time

The starter arrived which was very nice. A hot plate arrived for the main course which was cold by the time the meal arrived 1 hour later. Main chef was absent

Ordered food through Uber Eats and half the food wasn’t delivered. They wrote “sorry” on the receipt. It is completely unacceptable!

Beautiful meal, wonderful staff. We had a share player too start which was delicious. Our mains were hot and also delicious. I had chicken and cashews and husband had duck red curry, really deep flavour.

This is not the restaurant it used to be. The menu was dull and uninspiring, and once we'd ordered we had to wait for a long time before anything arrived at the table. The starters were competent enough, though it's difficult to go too far wrong with fried items. My main course, though, was dreadful - a paltry serving containing the gristliest beef I've attempted to eat in a very long time. I do not plan to return.

Really disappointed with this order. Definitely the worst Pad Thai I’ve ever had, completely tasteless and barely any chicken. I took 3 mouthfuls and couldn’t finish it. Shame as I when I have visited in person as opposed to a take away I remember it being nice

My wife and I have been going to Thai Edge Leeds since we started seeing each other, we decided to go today for our 19th wedding anniversary. Extremely disappointed. No non alcoholic wine or larger, had to wait over half an hour for our starter after we ordered, told this was because they were busy, yet only 21 customers in {ie only a quarter full}, starter mixed tempera vegetables was half onion rings little variety, masamam curry was ok but not as good as previously, pad thai was basically a plate of noodles. Building is now shabby and in need of the tender loving care of a decorator, menu in worse condition than the building.

Ordered pad Thai and sticky rice for delivery. Really very bad. The sticky rice was literally an inedible brick. The pad Thai was horrible - only ate it because I was famished. Very disappointed/feeling swindled

Lunch deal was very good value for money. The food was lovely. Will go back again. Service was excellent.

We were late to the booking, and they were really generous about keeping it for us, when we turned up, the place was quiet and had 3 other groups in. Food was great, the mocktail I had was a bit strange ingredients wise, a lot of seemingly random things like cordial, but still decent. Some of the group arrived late and didn't get asked if they wanted drinks.

I visited with my family, it was a pretty, yummy food and professional waiters.

Great place, great food, and great service! It was tasty, well presented, and great value too. I lived the Chicken Pad Thai and the Golden Parcels. One thing to be aware of is that some days, the kitchen closes at 14:30. Whilst not an issue, if you look to book online, in advance, you can actually book a slot, for after the time you're no longer able to get food (meaning the restaurant has to ring you up, to ask if you can change your slot). Other than that, it was a great experience.

Atmosphere is great, service also 5*. All dishes we had were fine but without "wow" effect. Some of them were very taste when other little bit tasteless. Im general we had fantastic evening and staff surprised us with some cake as a birthday gift - we didn't mentioned about birthday party before - so 5 * for fantastic service!

Centrally located in Leeds city centre yet far enough from the hustle and bustle of the commercial high street. Great if you are looking for a relaxed atmosphere.

Me and my girlfriend regularly visit here and have always had a fantastic time. The food is the best and the staff are super friendly. Our favourite order is the Thai green curry, it is so flavourful and packed with quality ingredients. I always try to try something different every time we visit and each dish is as good if not better than the last. And the coconut rice is delicious. It has become our Thai restaurant regular

The food was okay. Average Thai food and it wasn't too expensive however the restaurant really needs a good clean. Food stains on walls and just generally dirty. Which is a shame because it used to be a really impressive restaurant and it wouldn't take much effort to clean the place up.

Booked for early evening as we were going to The Grand afterwards. Only one other table occupied when we went in. Service was quick and were served with drinks and table water. Early bird menu used for two with crispy duck, sweet and sour chicken and chicken with cashew nuts. Other meals were duck with aromatic herbs and chicken chilli paste. All food was good, wine came in a cooler rather than leaving the bottle on the table. We had no reason to find fault with any aspect of the meal and will happily return.

I didn’t want to write this review, but it really was that bad. The ‘restaurant’ is no longer worth a visit. The internals are past tired, dirty, cold and unloved. Seats are torn, sockets are taped up, floor is dirty, light fittings are hanging down showing wires, wallpaper is torn and hanging off. Heating doesn’t work there are gas bottle heaters everywhere. Toilets are filthy, dirty marks on walls, unfixed taps. The restaurant was deserted but a lot of delivery platforms picking up food. All of this spoils the fact the food was nice, but when spending £100 on a meal you expect better surroundings. It’s time for this place to call it a day and close its doors. We won’t be back

First time here for a few years, and I'm sorry to say its showing its age. The food was good, but the restaurant itself feels unloved. There a section towards the loos that has a screen dividing it off, but you can still see chair and other items stacked up. The walls need a lock of paint and its overall just lost is shine.

Delicious food! I had beef with fresh chilli and basil, beef was cooked perfectly and the dish had lots of flavour, just a shame about the portion size as there wasn’t much. My partner had chicken pad Thai noodles and love it

the atmosphere is lovely, especially the interior design, it made me feel like I was in Thai. Also, the food is tasty and in good plating. Lastly, the service is perfect.

Big family occasion, 16 including children.. First the place was freezing despite asking for the heating to be increased ,after 30mins most of us sat with our coats on. Not acceptable for children.. the staff didnt seem to have a clue, all the orders were wrong. Food missing, food cold. We ended up sorting the order out ourselves whilst the staff stood and watched aimlessly.. ( not the staffs fault)the manager wandered around disinterested.. it took 3 hrs start to finish. The place was empty waiting to close, and this was a Saturday night.. yes we negotiated a discount after much discussion. But the evening was.totally spoilt and embarrassingly bad .I suggest the management take themselves to Suko Thai or Zap Thai to see how it can be done.. or close. I can not recommend anyone to waste time and money when there are such fabulous Thai restaurants in Leeds..

Visited this restaurant for the first time for my mother and aunties 60th birthday upon arrival the restaurant was freezing cold , when we asked for the heating to be put on we was informed it was already on and one one paraffin heater was available. The food however was delicious and authentic. The service was the worsed I'd ever recieved in a restaurant we arrived at 7.30pm they didn't offer water for the table. Mixed up all the food orders I myself had to take my entires tablets orders on paper and hand it to our waiter .. we waited until 9.20 before food arrived we had 4 children under the age of 10 and a 3 month old in a freezing cold building and everyone was so hungry. I wouldn't recommend this place in the cold winter weather unless you want to catch a cold and for your food to arrive hours later after ordering

First time ordering from here on Deliveroo. Not usually a fan of Thai food but this was amazing! Can taste every spice and flavour they put in. Samosas are beautiful and the noodles are the best I’ve tasted. Will be visiting restaurant to dine in as soon as possible! Thank you.

Food was good, service average. If we arrived too late just say, don’t rush us and make us feel bad for coming. I don’t want to eat my starter at the same time as my main and if ok i may need the toilet before ordering. Sorry.

Went on a Sunday lunch time, it was very quiet only 4 of us in there do service was very fast but faultless. Food arrived very quickly and was lovely, great sized main meals but the sharing platter starter could have been eaten by one person. Staff were very friendly and helpful and we would happily go back again

Very soggy pad Thai , curry is just milky , my son say he can cook better . The beef salad beef is so Chewy . I’m have to put this comment up hope they can improve in future , the decor is decent.

Perfect! Delivery on time and great food

The food was amazing! Restaurant had a meal deal for 10.40, in which we got Rice, Curry, Corn cakes and a drink. The food was fresh could taste every spice in it. Called the restaurant earlier to ask if rice is included in the meal the gentlemen was kind. All in all it was a lovely experience!

Had one of the most delish pad thai in Leeds. Tasted authentic and had the cleanest packaging ever. Also the satay is amazing. Be sure to try them.

great variety of flavours on the menu, have ordered from here three times and no complaints on any occasion. Each time we have received hot, fresh Thai food for a reasonable price. Definitely up there as a favourite for us.

Went a few time for dinner. They do a little upmarket Thai. Nice decor. It is well presented and the service is good. It is busy but on my humble opinion there are other places in Leeds who do Thai food a bit more rough around the edges but may be as tasty. Obviously it is reflected in the price too.
