The best restaurants serving Thai food in London

Fui a la Plaza Thai el domingo pasado con un viejo amigo. Tengo serios problemas de movilidad (tengo artritis muy grave y puedo caminar, pero uso un palo y las escaleras son mi pesadilla) así que me horrorizó descubrir que no tenían ascensor y tuve que luchar por subir una escalera de caracol empinada al primer piso. Estábamos sentados en la parte de atrás que estaba vacía y oscura. No entendí esto ya que había unas pocas personas en la parte delantera del restaurante, mucho más luminosa y acogedora. El servicio fue agradable pero lento y nuestra camarera apenas tenía suficiente inglés para tomar nuestros pedidos. Tuve una buena ensalada de papaya para empezar. Mi plato fuerte era el pato borracho que era sabroso pero duro. Luego tuve que luchar por bajar las escaleras, lo que fue una experiencia realmente horrible. Desde entonces, la dirección ha confirmado que hay un ascensor, por lo que el personal obviamente necesita algo de formación seria! También había más escalones hasta el baño, pero de nuevo la dirección dice que hay uno accesible. En general, una comida bastante agradable, pero sin duda no volveré a averiguar sobre su accesibilidad.

The food was terrible, I phoned to express my feelings and I was told was to wait for the boss to call you back. I had waited over an hour then I had to call again I need to be told I will be refunded two items of a £37 order, so my dinner was ribs, rice and seaweed. Completely ruined, my Meal My reply to your rude and unprofessional response! You came to my house and gave my wife the money then took off! You should have delt with me as I’m the one who made the complaint! 2) how can you make me wait 1 hour and not even call me back? Then when I CALL YOU BACK! you offer me replacement dish 1 hour later! I’m greedy you say! You’re not professional enough and need to be educated with your customer care! I still have your food waiting on my work top. You’re more than welcome to come and collect it now! I will be waiting! Come and taste for yourself the poor Quality!

Let's start with the positive - food was delivered quicker than expected. However, food was extremely bland with low quality ingredients. Powdery, inedible beef in the massaman curry. Pad Thai was a completely bland mountain of noodles that even my own chilli sauce could not rescue. Tom yum soup was ok. I NEVER leave food on my plate, but made an exception in this case. Nearly £30 for takeaway dinner for two - ruined our Sunday night and left me wishing I'd bought a couple of decent steaks from the butcher instead. How do places like this stay in business???

Great pub, they have also started doing a standup comedy show every Tuesday. Loving it! 💯💯

Very tasty Pad Thai, great cocktails and a funny waiter

Fresh sardines for starter and sword fish steak was delicious. The staff were very attentive and we would recommend this restaurant.

Always had great food here! It's better to collect that wait for delivery (tho sometimes you collect as they've said they're busy, and then you find them fairly un-busy when you arrive!).

Had a takeaway from here. Really expensive for the quality. The menu is very limited. No massaman beef so opted for another beef dish. Received a few strips of gristly beef with a small portion of salad costing £12! The fish dish was nice but again expensive at £14. The wait was very long, over an hour. Would not use again.

I don't like to leave bad reviews, but we had a take-away from Spice Island (mistakenly thought we'd ordered from there before but turns out we'd ordered from Spice King previously) anyway, I had chicken tikka masala which is pretty standard, but it was tasteless. And I'm sad to say I wont be ordering from here again, and it has put me off ever going to the restaurant itself. Desperately need some good restaurants on/near Plumstead common!

Average food quality at reasonable prices with terrible service. Long wait and unfriendly staff made me remove tip from the bill for the first time in my life... Would recommend trying other (great) options nearby!

The food was absolutely delicious and served to make you salivate. I left wanting more. Water was a scarce commodity and there was hesitation when you asked for a glass of water

Nous avons mangé en terrasse car l'établissement était plein au rez-de-chaussée et n'ouvrait pas la salle du bas. Une serveuse peu sympathique Nnous a indiqué qu'on pouvait commander et payer en scannant le QR code sur la table. Après avoir dû créé un compte et malgré plusieurs tentatives, comme cela ne fonctionnait pas, nous avons passé commande auprès de cette même jeune fille, que nous avions vraiment l'impression de déranger. Nous avons mangé des nouilles au poulet, grosse ration mais plat quelconque.

Descendió colina vergüenza ahora caro y nuestra camarera no es amable Mi curry tailandés rojo está bien, pero mis amigos plato de cerdo graso. Más vino 30 € por botella, processco 34 € Triste como solía ser buena relación calidad-precio

He estado aquí para desayunar un par de veces, pero esta era mi primera visita en la noche. No puedo pensar por qué lo había dejado tanto tiempo. Una gran variedad de platos interesantes, con un toque asiático, muchas opciones vegetarianas, buen vino y un comedor luminoso y espacioso, perfecto para una noche de junio. Yo lo recomendaría. Y hay joyas inesperadas. El arroz que venía con mi principal era increíble. Hay un montón de buenos vegetariano entrantes incluyendo los calabacines buñuelos, un encantador picante berenjenas con tofu, y si come pescado una gran ensalada de atún crudo.
