Had a takeaway from here. Really expensive for the quality. The menu is very limited. No massaman beef so opted for another beef dish. Received a few strips of gristly beef with a small portion of salad costing £12! The fish dish was nice but again expensive at £14. The wait was very long, over an hour. Would not use again.

After I saw many bad reviews this restaurant got, I decided to leave mine and I rated it with the maximum i could. I have been in there few times already and it never failed my expectations. In fact I got to eat amazing food for an incredible low price. If I wanted to go to a fancy restaurant I would not choose this one. And if you pretend to find it fancy when its not, then don't complain. its your fault not the restaurant fault. This restaurant has is own dignity and it is clean. Got to a michelin star restaurant if you want to be surrounded by luxury furniture. For the down to earth others I suggest seafood and beef, they are delicious. For the highly expectation people with lack of respect for less fortunate restaurants that keep trying to survive and still give amazing results go somewhere else and please do not leave reviews that can destroy a business as consequence of your bad judgment.

The food was lovely BUT the room was freezing cold. Two inefficient fan heaters sat on chairs was the only heating and delivery men were going in and out. I and many other people ate in my thick jumper and coat. There was just one girl serving and one on takeaway. She was nice enough but a bit forgetful. We had to ask for things several times. Gave up on the plates and ate the whole meal on small starter plates. It wasn’t her fault really, they were understaffed. The worse point was the very very very slow and piecemeal way the food was served. Mixed starter came and waitress said she’d brought it without the fish element as we had been waiting so long already. Twenty minutes later three prawns arrived. Twenty minutes later some noodles. Ten more some rice. Ten more the first main dish. Fifteen more the second and twenty more the final dish. Over two hours for starters and main. Rice and noodles cold before the dishes they accompanied were there. Satay chicken was also cold. But the food tasted great. No vanilla ice cream for our son so we gave up before desert. It is probably good if you choose a delivery but eating in was almost comically bad. Same experience for the other tables, everyone was fed up waiting.

Had a family meal for 3 on Saturday night. Got a few dishes including vegetable tempura to start and I had a lovely massaman curry. Portions were very generous, lovely tasting Thai food and will be coming back hear again. Will possibly go back and eat in as currently has a bring your own alcohol policy so great value.

We arrived for 9pm.........eft very hungry and 10.30.....short-staffed meant a restaurant of empty plates and then people left including us....we did manage to get a measly portion of starters which we had between 5 of us- we were starving by the time that arrived and had to leave after waiting that long. It seems they were prioritising deliveries - the restaurant was full when we arrived but people started leaving en masse......terrible experience - never again........

We used to come here regularly over 10 years ago and have fond memories of the choo chi goong. We weren’t disappointed it’s still a great Thai. Service was good. I note the staff have stopped wearing their ‘traditional’ uniform but the food is great so who cares.

For a while we wanted to have dinner at this place, since it appears to be packed with people when we walk passed. We reserved a table at 7:30pm for my boyfriends birthday just before Christmas. When we got in the place was empty and a bit chilly since they just started heating up the dining area. We ordered the green beef curry and the red beef curry and were served our drinks after and then our food followed. Both dishes went down excellently and we couldn’t stop eating. The food wasn’t too spicy as expected bu if you want extra it spicy you can. The small and comfy settings makes it even more pleasurable. The exterior gives a it a great ambiance. By the time we finished our plates and payed the bill the place was once again packed and nice and toasty.

We visited on at Saturday night around 9.45 pm and were warmly greeted by one lady. However that was the last we saw of her (until the bill)and the waitress that took over was very casually dressed (track suit bottoms) and her attitude was very off hand. We ordered a vegetable and curd curry for my partner and I had a sweet and sour chicken stir fry. We also ordered drinks. Half an hour later I chased up the drinks and also requested a glass of tap water. The drinks finally appeared minus the tap water requested- which I requested again. It never arrived. The sweet and sour chicken I thought was very good but the vegetable and curd Curry was not. It is a shame that service completely spoiled our visit to this restaurant and would put me off going again.

Our dishes were enjoyable and all food appears to be freshly produced. I'm sorry to say that the service is chaotic in a slightly haphazard way but charming with it . The decor is psychedelic kitsch, like a trip to your Thai granny and I think it could all do with a good dusting. However despite the wait -the food is very good quality. Last time I ate a green curry this good was on the banks of the Nan river - so it feels very natural and home produced

We booked a table here for a Friday night. When we arrived, there were already 4 tables occupied, and the waitress simply said 'sit where you want'. The lighting was quite bright, and highlighted the tired decor. It was cold outside, and sleeting, so we were looking forward to a warm restaurant, but it was apparent after removing our coats, that it was almost as cold inside as out!. There were a couple of fan heaters on the floor that didn't seem to make any difference, and no background music to soften the atmosphere. The waitress took our order, but couldn't guarantee any of the wines on their list (which was difficult to read as something had previously been spilled on the laminated menu, blurring the text). Needless to say the bottle we ordered was not available. As we waited for our starters, the place began to fill and the tension inside began to rise, as there was only one waitress. Although she handled the situation as best as she could, with a smile on her face, it became increasingly uncomfortable, as it was evident that she was unable to manage a full restaurant on her own. Our starter arrived, and was surprisingly good. However, the main course took another good half hour to arrive and came minus the rice. Which took another ten minutes. We both had the same main course (Thai Red chicken curry) and were both equally disappointed. It lacked heat, and flavor, and was more soup than curry. By this point we decided to cut our losses and make a swift exit, as had a couple of others already realizing that they were in for a long night. The bill was £50, which is a lot of money for a particularly unpleasant experience. This place needs, more staff, some ambient lighting, some heating in the winter, some music to lighten the canteen effect, and some care and attention.

Haven't been here for a few years so thought we'd try it. Sadly we were very disappointed. No atmosphere, empty on a Friday evening with fan heaters not evening warming it up for us! Food ok but not great. Singburi further down the high road is far superior -authentic, fresh and flavoursome. The place is filthy... but it gets worse when you go through the back to use the toilets. Untidy messy and dirty... Sticky sticky sticky carpet up to the toilets and it just gets worse. Toilets are old & dirty which made us slightly concerned about the state of the kitchen. Sadly we won't ever be going again & will strongly recommend others don't either :-(

I visited with my mum and she is notoriously hard to please, especially with Thai as she brought us up on it. She believes that a Thai green is the test for any good Thai restaurant so ordered it so we could make the assessment! I had a variation on pad Thai but spicy and with lime and coriander flavours - it was absolutely delicious. So nice to have a change from the sweet taste of the usual pad Thai - I will be back just for that. Needless to say, my mum thought the Thai green was outstanding with just the right balance of chilli, citrons and sweetness. I can assure you if it's good enough for her it's good enough for Thai royalty. Will be back (a lot)

A few years ago this used to be a great restaurant with fantastic food and service. The food is still authentic and tasty which is why I have returned a number of times hoping the service would improve again but I feel now I have visited for the last time. On a quiet night (only 3 other tables taken) it took the waitress 15 minutes to take our drinks order. The complimentary prawn crackers arrived 10 minutes later and didn't taste fresh. I asked for sweet chilli sauce and that took another 10 minutes to arrive. Starters followed soon after, both of which were lovely. An hour and 20 minutes after arriving my main surfaced....no sign of my partners...or any rice. After another 10 minutes wait my partners main dish arrived along with the rice. I had to send mine back to be reheated as it was already cold due to the cool temperature in the restaurant. As mentioned in other reviews, there are a few fan heaters placed randomly under some tables in an attempt to heat the restaurant up but making little difference. On a visit to the bathroom, sticking to the filthy carpet on the stairs on my way, I found out what was keeping the waitresses so busy - messing about on their phones out the back! As they never stick their heads into the restaurant to check on tables and replenish drinks order other tables were getting up and walking into the back to request their bills. We also paid and left, never to return!

Went there once on a Sunday night and it took them almost 2 hours to bring us the wrong dish. We complained but were afraid we had to wait another 2 hours if we asked to correct it so just had it anyway. The same for any drinks which were brought one by one since had to ask them again and again. The decoration is not my cup of tea but what was worse was the state if the tables which were sticky and grimy. Unless they up their game I would say avoid and go to any other place on the high street.

My sister and I visited this place for dinner on Saturday night, having been before, but several years ago. Unfortunately the service has gone massively downhill, and now it appears the restaurant focuses on deliveries not diners. We waited about 45 minutes for our starter, and another hour our main course still hadn't turned up. Same thing happened to other diners - a man on another table got up and just settled their bill for their starters and drinks and simply left, and we took the opportunity to do the same. The restaurant wasn't full either. Leaving diners to wait 1 hour and 45 minutes with no main courses whilst they watch countless delivery drivers coming in and out is just unacceptable. Don't waste your time here, unless you are extraordinarily patient and/or not that hungry.

Looks the part - lots of carving & tapestry, but almost invisible service and pretty horrible food kind of trumped all that. The veg penang had oil swimming on the surface and the veg was overcooked and mushy, suggesting microwave reheating. Such a shame about this place as the food really is very good, the corn fritter starter and red and green curries are real highlights, with more heat and overall depth of flavour than what you can expect outside of real high end thai restaurants such as Patara, but unfortunately the shocking attitude, ineptness and plain rudeness of the staff let's down the whole affair. The first time we went we started by ordering a bottle of wine which went something like this:Myself:"Could we have a bottle of the sauvignon blanc please?"Waitress: "We don't have any."Myself: "Oh ok, do you recommend any of the rest on the list"Waitress "We only have the house wine"Myself "Oh? So out of the list of white wine's you just gave me you only have 1?"Waitress "We have red wine"Myself "Yes but you only have 1 white wine in the whole restaurant out of a list of about 15?"Waitress "let me check...." After disappearing for over 5 minutes the waitress came back with a bottle of the Sauvignon blanc I had asked for in the first place and said "We do have this". She then left it on our table (without anything to keep it cold) and walked off again so we poured it ourselves.Once this wine ran out, I asked if they had any more but was told it was the last bottle they had so went for the house white wine. When this arrived it turned out to be a different sauvignon blanc (cheaper and actually much better than the first one) so it was very strange that we hadn't been advised the house was a Sauvignon Blanc when ordering the first bottle to begin with. When it came to ordering the food we had a few other items we wanted to order only to be told they did not have any...We should have taken the warning signs from these shaky exchanges with the staff and not returned but the food was good enough to make us crave it and want to go back for the corn fritters the next week. So, upon our return, after waiting about 10 minutes to be seated we decided to order some of the house wine. Conversation:My girlfriend "Could we order a bottle of the house white please?"Waitress "Yes"Myself "Is it a Sauvignon Blanc?"Waitress "Yes"Myself "Excellent!"When it was brought over to our table I had to call the waitress back and ask her to bring something to keep the wine cold.Another exchange on this second visit with a different waitress worth recapping went like this:Myself "Excuse me, we ordered our main courses about 40 minutes ago, do you have an idea on when they might be ready?"Waitress "I don't know, it's only my first day"Myself "Does that mean you're not allowed to speak to the kitchen?"Waitress "Sorry what?"Myself: "I don't see how it being your first day affects you finding out how long our food will be?"Waitress "Let me go and talk to someone"The waitress then came back holding a bowl of something that I couldn't identify as she was stood up holding it above my head.Waitress: "Is this it?"Myself: "I don't know, what is that?"At the point the other waitress came over and grabbed the bowl from her and took it over to another table. Our food arrived about 10 minute later. After getting through 2 bottles of wine, 2 courses of good tasting, well executed thai cuisine and a few more embarrassing exchanges with both waitresses, we were presented with our bill. Straight away we noticed that we were being charged not for the house white wine, but for the sauvignon blanc from the wine list which was over double the price. I called the waitress over and explained that we had ordered the house wine so this was a mistake but she insisted that they had brought us the more expensive sauvignon blanc. I explained that whilst that may be the case, we had quite clearly ordered the house white wine (another sauvignon blanc) and it's not out fault if they had misunderstood the order. After disappearing for 5 minutes the waitress came back and asked if we could meet them half way and pay for one of each. Almost unbelievable. Naturally we refused to do this and paid for what we had ordered. All Petch Sayam would need to do to completely turn the place around would be to put on some nice quiet music, get rid of the two waitresses and employ some front of house staff who actually care a bit about what they're doing, then they would be on to a real winner as the food really is very good. Sadly until these things do get addressed I will not be returning.

Leytonstone High Street is not the most exciting High Street in London but this restaurant is. A small intimate restaurant with the best food I have ever eaten. The menu is comprehensive and as the food is all freshly prepared by June and His lovely wife Louise you can request for meals to exclude specific ingredients e.g. chilli. I have visited this restaurant many times over the years. The food is consistently outstanding. I visited twice in the past 3 weeks. Thinking about the food, my mouth is watering. We were a table of 5 and each of us ordered different dishes. Personally i love Tom Yum Goong and was looking forward to this on a miserable windy day. I was not disappointed, the taste and flavours were wonderful - as good as any Tom Yum I've had in Thailand - with fat juicy tasty prawns. The other diners also had tasty food, in particular Massaman curry and a chunky sea bass done in a similar coconut curry flavour. All in all we really had our taste buds tantalised. We'll be back!

I visited this establishment having read the fantastic Google Reviews. Rated 4.2 out of 5.We arrived at 19.15 on Saturday night 28th Nov. 2015 to an empty, dreary, musty, untidy out of date eatery. The sight of numerous fan heaters at the base of all the tables should have been our hint to walk out the door but being in the mood for Thai we decided to give it a try. Ordering one soup, two mains and a bottle of wine at 19.20 I decided to question the whereabouts of our food at 20.10 when I noticed the table next to us receive their starters which were ordered 20 minutes prior. When I asked the waitress, her curt response what that they only have one chef and they serve all starters together. For some reason she had classified our soup as a main. Anyway we eventually received our food (altogether) at 20.25. I attempted to consume the soup and mains but having had to dispose of it in the restroom decided it would be safer not to finish it.I honestly don't know why this restaurant is allowed to keep its licence. The tables were filthy with the remains of previous diners food under the glass tops. The carpet on the floor and up the stairs to the bathroom is dirty, sticky and unsightly. The room behind the main restaurant is so untidy that it is hard to imagine where the owners living space begins and the restaurant ends. The bathroom is filthy and there are so many undusted ornaments scattered around the building that you can see the layers of dust. This is not a charming restaurant, the food is inedible and entire building is filthy.

I've had mixed feelings about this place having visited 3 or 4 times in the past - the food is good but seems a little overpriced and there is zero atmosphere - no music or buzz about the place. Pretty poor service too. My most recent visit confirmed my doubts. The place was empty apart from another couple. There had obviously been a larger party in earlier as the dirty plates and leftover food was still on the table. No one welcomed us, so we took our seats and waited for someone. After about 5 minutes I had to go and find the waitress in the back room - they seemed put out that they had to get up and do some work. We ordered drinks and were offered complementary prawn crackers. After another 5 minutes, the prawn crackers showed up, but no drinks. We noticed there was a dirty used napkin in the same basket as the crackers with someone elses bodily fluids on it, so complained, which was met with a bit of a shrug - no apology or replacement offered. It was at this point we left. The dirty plates were still left on the other table. Not like they were too busy to move them! Slow, terrible service and bad attitude. Time to give it up and do something else maybe - doesn't seem that running a restaurant is your strong point. We definitely wont be returning ever again.

I have been a loyal customer of this restaurant since it first opened nearly fifteen years ago. Since then I have ordered both takeaway food and eaten in the restaurant on countless occasions. The food remains the tastiest I have had outside of Thailand, but the customer service is beyond atrocious. Unfortunately it seems every time the food prices go up the level of service goes down. The restaurant itself has not been decorated or cleaned in years. Whilst it is full of authentic Thai decorations and teak wood, it has not changed since it opened and now looks faded and shabby. When dining in the restaurant it is slow and inconsistent - no one to bring you a menu, drinks forgotten, food brought at different times... The last time we were there we were told there were no more beers and a member of staff had gone out to buy some more. They then tried to charge us full price for bottles clearly bought from Tesco down the road. However, it is when ordering takeaway that I have experienced real problems. The past three orders arrived with missing items and when we tried to flag this, each time we were treated like we were in the wrong. The standard delivery time is an hour and fifteen minutes and when they have tried to re-deliver missing items it has taken equally long, meaning food is cold and soggy and frankly you've lost your appetite. Don't dare ask for a refund or try to reason with them either - I was offered £1.50 despite paying nearly £50 for my takeaway! We were also accused of treating them like servants for asking that they deliver the missing items. This place used to be amazing and I have always seen it as a gem for the local area. I have tried to remain loyal in the hope that the recent difficulties we experienced were just a blip. Unfortunately the lack of customer service and staff attitudes have meant standards have slipped so much that sadly I won't be eating here again.

I used to love this place when I lived in Leytonstone thought I'd have a trip down memory lane and visit after 3 years. From the minute I arrived I wish I hadn't bothered gone was the live warm Thai welcome that you would always receive instead we were greeted by a shabby and sticky looking empty restaurant we had to walk through to the back to find a waitress who showed us to a sticky table with a tide mark on the wall where the remains of meals are wiped! ! We then waited and waited some more before receiving and equally sticky menu. Our mains arrived over a 10 minute period. First the curry a few minutes later 1 rice, a few more minutes later a pad thai and then a few more minutes later a cold steamed rice. The food has definately gone back too we received a Tofu Pad Thai with was adorned with dried tofu when we queried this the waitress came back to our table and said "That's cause it's been deep fried" maybe a month ago but not in the last 15 minutes love!!!! Despite ordering the same main our green curries one pork the other chicken arrived looking and tasting vastly different mine arrived looking lovely and thick my partners arrived looking thin, with a layer of grease and tasting like pure oil. Our response at querying was "Thats cause one is chicken and one is pork" What so you add an extra layer of oil to the chicken!!??I felt sorry for the waitress she has no idea about thai food each order we watched her take she would run to the back ask the question then come back, then she would come back to tables 15 minutes fter taking orders to tell them they'd run out of something. On asking her about tips we were told they go to the boss they then get a share of what the boss and her young children in the kitchen (I counted 2 children and a woman working in the kitchen), the delivery guy and her...We decided before we finished we would be back... having both spent a good while on the toilet during the night and this morning we definately won't be going back....

Visited with two young children. On arrival, nobody was available to greet us, so we assumed our seats. Menu took around 5 minutes to come. Having decided on our meals, it took a further 15 minutes for our order to be taken. Order taken and waitress returned to inform us that they had sold out of one of the dishes (Chicken Priew Wan) and 1 of 2 pineapple juices ordered. Asked to suggest a dish as close to this and kitchen staff recommended Gai Med Mamuang.Warm plates showed up but food came 5 minutes after, so they were back to being as cold as the plates they had replaced. All dishes arrived, except the one I requested a recommendation for. That showed up just as we were finishing our rice and was nothing like what I had originally requested.Waitress really needs more confidence and the ability to manage tables efficiently. It wasn't that busy but she struggled with keeping the customers that were there. Plus, a smile wouldn't go a miss.Food was good but given the lack of atmosphere in the restaurant and the inability to provide an efficient service, doubt I'll rush for a visit back here. Shame, as this place has potential.A note to remember, this place had a sign on the window to say "Today, Cash Only". So I'd passed this local restaurant a few weeks back and as it has it's shutters down in the daytime I'd not noticed it before so thought I'd give it a try.On entry this place is pretty stunning for a small local Thai place. The decor is 60% carved wood and really gives you that traditional authentic Thai feel. The staff were adorable and conscientious. I ordered a GAI PAD MED MAMUANG Chicken stir fried with roasted chilli and garlic and steamed noodles which was delicious. It was a Thursday night and the place was quite and I kept thinking it'd be a little better with some music on and that perhaps they had forgotten to turn it on? This niggled at me though didn't stop me enjoying the experience.I accompanied my meal with a glass of the house red which was suitable and the meal all in all was reasonably priced with large enough portion sizes that a starter wasn't necessary albeit I was very hungry and did take in three of four of the prawn crackers which were tasty and complimentary (I think). To summerise, I'd definitely revisit this local gem though would hope that there'd be music to create a little more ambience on my return.

Really great balance of sweet, hot and sour in their food. Service can be a little slow but they are always friendly and it's definitely worth the wait if you've got the time. Thai food seems to have got more and more expensive in the UK over the last few years (it's probably got better too though) so this place isn't cheap but then neither is it any more than other local Thai restaurants.

We went there last night and asked if we could have our starters and main served at the same time and was told they were busy so it was best not to, that is where the problem started. Starters arrived but only one was correct, it was taken away. Drinks took ages to arrive . Missing starter failed to appear at all. After an hour no main course so in exasperation we asked for the meal as a take away , we waited and waited and asked where the food was to be told it was being cooked still. Through this several tables who arrived after us had eaten, paid and left. In the end I asked for the bill. To add insult to injury the bill came with the starter on we hadn't even had , the poor waitress was so apologetic , it wasnt her fault, too few staff and no system in the kitchen . We will never return!,,

It is great choose for dinner in Leytonstone. The service is friendly, the food is very tasty and is a good value for money as the main dishes are great size.

Decor is quite over the top and dated but the food is lovely. Pleasant service by the waitresses and one of the better places to eat in Leytonstone...Prices are a little high but would still recommend to someone for a nice Thai meal.(I liked the fishcakes)

This is the best restaurant in Leytonstone and the best Thai food I've tasted outside London. The waitresses are all very sweet and friendly, the decor is traditional Thai and the food genuinely delicious. They also do takeaway although I haven't tried it yet. Much better food and value than the trendy Rosa's!

We have been coming here for years. Food is tasty and authentic, excellent prices and attentive but unobtrusive service. Good range of wines. Better than anything I've had at Thai square or any of the more expensive West end places.

This used to be a good, if a little pricey restaurant. Used to go a lot....but our last three times have been very disappointing. Firstly, the main meal was a long time in the waiting, Secondly, the main meal given was the wrong one ordered and Thirdly the food was ssooooooooo hot. What used to be a flavouful dish was completely overpowered with chillies upon chillies. It is expensive, but come here every now and again. However, this is now our third and final time of coming to this restaurant.

I go to this restaurant quite frequently and have always loved the food and the service is excellent but on Saturday 12th January 13 I went with my very good friends for my birthday. We were a party of 9. Not too large I thought. How wrong was I. We booked for 7.30. Ordered at least by 8.15. It took an hour to even get a bit of our mixed starter and then another 30mins to get the rest. :-( Then 1 of our guests ordered sea bass only to be told later that evening that they didn't have enough so he had to have salmon. Not a problem but why wasn't this mentioned earlier! We finally got our main course by 10.00 pm of which 2 of them never arrived and we had to ask for them. It was such a shame as the food is absolutely excellent but the service was not good that night. I can only sugget that you do not go there in a large group.

We've been coming here for years ever since we moved to Leytonstone in 2009. Food is delicious; the best I have tasted outside Thailand! Chicken Satay is just amazeballs and have never been disappointed with anything I have ordered. PLEASE DON'T EVER CLOSE! P.s. the Irish coffees are also great!

Four if us ate here in November. Very long wait for food. Well over an hour. No real apology until we were literally on our way out. Good food but terrible service.....

This is probably the best Thai I've had in London. Service and atmosphere are great and most importantly the food is wonderful! Possibly the best chicken satay I've ever had! Pad Thai always great and their Thai Salad with King prawns is so refreshingly light and tasty.....YUM!

Small restaurant which seats approximately 40 people. I would advise that a booking should be made if intending to visit Friday night or the weekend. Food was of a great standard. I had mince prawns and tempura prawns for starters. A mixture of dishes all with seafood for main course and fried banana wrapped in coconut served with a scoop of ice scream for dessert. It was fantastic.. Heaven on a plate.

After I left the gourmet wonderland of W1 I thought my days of having saliva enducing Thai food a 10 minute drive away. I have a larger than average group of French friends who live very close to this Gem. They seem to think anything they touch becomes gourmet. (BBQ snails was not a good idea)Well I am pleased to announce that they all love this place. I think over the years we have tried everything on the menu. We are yet to find one thing that we have not loved. Ok trendy and minimalist it is not. It has a feel of the 80's about it. Functional it is. It's clean and comfortable. The staff are wonderful. Very attentive. I do agree that this place is a little expensive for the area. However if the food on offer here was served to us in the west end in a minimalist restaurant then we would be expecting to pay double. So ignore the fact that's it's expensive for the area and celebrate the fact it's so close to us.

We had a thai takeaway from Petch Sayam a couple of weeks ago. The meals were good but we felt they were fairly expensive for the area.We ordered spring rolls, 2 green curries, 2 sticky rices and a side of vegetables and it came to £30 (without delivery). Compared to other takeaway restaurants in the area this is quiet expensive.

With the closure of the outstanding Tepa Thai restaurant in Leyton, the choice of Thai restaurants in the area is now somewhat limited. Visited Petch Sayam shortly after it opened some years ago and was not at all impressed. Only returned there last night and was pleased to find just how much the food quality had improved. Excellent choice of vegetarian and non-vegetarian dishes with some authentic, fresh and interesting Thai flavours. Service could be improved as was not as attentive as it could have been and dishes were not served together: e.g. the "Mixed Starter" came in two parts, with a long gap in between; also, rather a disproportionate amount of greasy, bland tempura vegetables and spring rolls. (Why were Thai fish cakes not included??) Presentation could have been much improved too. However, the main courses - poultry, king prawn and vegetarian were all very flavoursome and extremely (too?) generous in size. Would definitely go back - and the restaurant was very busy which is surely a good sign?

Have eaten here several times and consider myself very lucky to have such a good thai restaurant locally. The service is always attentive, the staff polite and friendly and the wine list is not too bad either! You never feel hurried and as there has been a large table group in there every time I've been in, there is always a bit of a buzz to the atmosphere. Am not the most adventureous eater for personal reasons, but myself and my companions have never been disappointed with our dishes.

Petch Sayam is an absolute gift of a restaurant and being in the outskirts of London is a bit of a surprise. The Thai cuisine is as good as any I've found so far in Europe. I'm a huge fan of the red and green curries. It caters excellently for vegetarians and is reasonably priced. The service is excellent and often beautiful. The decor is nice enough but it is quite a small restaurant so can be a little cramped. It is not often too busy but on peak evenings is probably worth booking ahead for.Having been there more times than I can count, there are three items on their menu which are as good as anything I've had for Thai in Europe. The takeaway/delivery option is perhaps even better as the portion sizes seem slightly larger. The natural Thai service culture makes it a really pleasant dining experience though the calmness means it probably isn't for those who like their eating raucous. In a relatively unfashionable part of the world, Petch Sayam is an absolute highlight.

I've been going to leytonstone spice for many years. I've taken many friends/family there -everyone always enjoys the food. And good service too. It's refreshing that the basics are good too- good cloth serviettes/table cloths.

Disappointing meal at Singburi after all the good things I've heard about it. The pork belly mod krob was really dry and overcooked, I think as we were the first people sat and order taken in the second service they must of refried an older batch and reheated it as there was no juicy flavour like the other reviews say just dry and chewy meat. The crispy quail was similar with a oily and too fried flavour but was atleast in some thicker parts less overcooked. We apparently also got the last portion of the Burmese pork curry, and if I knew when I ordered it I wouldn't of - we got the odds and ends of the pork with some super fatty pork belly bits with no meat on it, and with a watery not very flavourful sauce and some ok beans. The tilapia with mango was the best dish and the sauce was nice with it bringing some nice sweetness, but the tilapia was cold (and soggy) so I'm unsure if it was supposed to be served this way. From seeing others reviews and hearing from friends who've gone it seems we had more of an outlier experience, but as it was my only time here I was not impressed and wont be back. Flavours overall were okay but the cooking of all the meat in every dish was no good.
