O'Cha Thai in Waltham Forest

We love O’Cha, grateful for it on Billet Road. Food is absolutely delicious and all really tasty. A real hidden gem - Proper Thai food.

First off, the curry’s are delicious and consistent every single time. What’s not consistent are Uber and Deliveroo. Our order was short a bag (Uber mistake) and O’Cha sent their own staff to fulfill the rest of order. Incredible service. Delicious food. Eat here.

Ordered a takeaway via Uber Eats. Awful. Couldn't eat any of it. Everything had a slightly strange after taste and sweet tasting. Nowhere near authentic tasting. Absolutely would not recommend.

King prawn panang was too salty and chicken pad thai was okayish and overall a bit overpriced for the real deal

Certainly is a hidden gem. The flavours was bursting in my mouth. The waiter was very attentive. The portion size was big and will leave you feeling really full. I will be back :)

Great food and great hospitality. Thoroughly enjoyed the meal out with my family. We ordered a variety of food and was not disappointed. We travelled over an hour to get here and would do so again! Highly recommended 5 ⭐️

I've loved in this area for years and never knew this place was here. It's five minutes from our front door. It's tiny and back from the road, we thought it was takeaway only but there are a handful of tables and the food is fantastic and not expensive. We've only had the green and yellow curries so far, but I can see this place becoming a regular treat.

We had a lovely evening sitting in, sharing the vegetarian set menu. The staff were absolutely great too.

Didn’t deliver at specified time but too early. Unfortunately the food wasn’t great. Poor cuts of meat. The sauces didn’t taste authentic very oily and unfortunately we ended up throwing away £50 worth of mains as it was inedible. And both of us felt sick after too so might have gotten a mild case of food poisoning. We tried to call the restaurant but they were already closed so no way of rectifying the order!

Very disappointed. The reviews here are misleading. Orders not delivered, marked at delivered, then we argued and they sent food but it was incredibly bland, with very very cheap cuts of meat. The yum neua is supposed to be sirloin meat. This was horrible and chewy leathery rubbish! Actually abandoned the whole meal with how bad it was.

Really good Thai food, recommend the fish cakes, pork dumplings, red curry and Tom Yum, although everything I've tried has been great.

I ordered takeaway at 17:56 via Just Eat and the estimate delivery was 18:25-18:45. I received a text at 18:56 mess saying my order is on its way. 19:25 I called the restaurant and the lady said the driver is on the way and it should come very soon. 19:47 I called again and the lady said it should come in 5 mins. I was on the call for 5 mins and nothing came. I think it’s not ok to charge for hot food after such long wait and I asked for a refund. Absolutely disappointed. It could be an issue with Just Eat but going forward, as I said on the first call, please do not make an assumption and speak to the driver or do something else. If you cannot track the order/cannot contact the delivery person, I would rather knowing that you don’t know how long it takes. Managing expectation is important.

we ordered from O'Cha and it was one of the best deliveries I've had in London. the food was so so fresh and delicious and tasted like authentic Thai food in my opinion. we had the fried rice, pad thai and the thai red curry. the thai red curry was my favourite but it all tasted so good! the delivery was perfectly on time and the deliveryman was very nice and friendly. we will definitely order again!!

I had the papaya salad and pad Thai. Probably the most authentic you can get in UK. Felt like I was in Bangkok with the sweltering heat and traffic outside and started speaking Thai accidently. Friendly chef who likes to chat. Fantastic secret spot.

Service and food here is GREAT! Atmosphere is lovely and chilled. Came here with my family and really enjoyed the experience. Food is also halal. Sultana is my favourite.

One of the worst take aways I have ever had. 1st not thai despite the name. Bad Chinese food is more accurate. 2nd every dish was the same watery soya sauce. Just with beef or prawn being the difference. All food seemed boiled not cooked. Dont waste your money. Awful.

The food here is consistently fantastic. I really do wish this place the best. I personally always order some egg fried rice with chicken in black bean sauce and it is WONDERFUL! Delivery isn't too bad, sometimes a little long- but that's only ever due to high demand! Definitely worth a visit.

food hygiene ratings gotta be linked to lack of space, but seriously I have been coming here for 10 years off n on. Best dishes are the red, yellow, panang, mussaman curries and Som Tam, papaya salad. Enjoy!

One of the worst thai food ive had in my life. The food was not worth the amount i paid. The food had no flavour and tasted like diet food (bland not salt, no flavour no nothing). I went Phuket 2 months ago and have an idea how the food would taste but the food here was nothing like it. They are very busy with delivery all the time so we had to wait more than 15 mins to order our food. They definitively prioritise delivery more than customers eating in. Food was not worth the wait. Never going back

They tried to deliver 60mins after we were told it was with the driver - over 2.5hrs after the 35-50min estimated order...and this happened twice. We’ve always liked O’cha - but it’s seems they’re gotten too many customers and are now failing. It’s not the lateness that really gets to me (I know they’re small) but the out right lies - why tell us it’s out for delivery if they’ve not even started cooking it? (And after we’ve already waited 90mins!) Having pre-paid through justeat, you we didn’t want to order elsewhere or really want to cook something that won’t be eaten. They need to reassess how they cater for customers! Their apology was also inadequate - like waiting 2.5hrs was a standard expectation! I would have rated them 4star a few years ago - couldn’t order again from them

The Pad Thai was shocking - over cooked bland sweet noodles with no peanuts and only 3 prawns. Worst I’ve eaten in the UK. Fish soup stick was nice but seafood tasted off.

I have ordered King prawns pad thai noodle twice before and loved it, however this time there were only 3 pieces of prawns in the dish, which is disappointing. I wasn't happy to pay £7.50 for it.

Great little takeaway, almost hidden away. I’ve driven by this so many times and not noticed it. The place is tiny - a couple of tables only. You might get lucky and find them free if you want to eat in. We found a couple of elderly Thai ladies preparing the food on the tables, but they would have vacated the tables if we’d been eating in. The food was absolutely fresh, well cooked and delicious. Very reasonably priced. Delivery charge very reasonable if you order a takeaway. Staff very pleasant and friendly. All in all, a great little local gem.

By far the best Thai in E17, the only other options are Thai-nese places which are so sub par and wouldn’t even classify as Thai. Will definitely be returning again

Jungle curry is a nonsense, broth with way too much ginger was not happy with any of the food. I don't know how this place get such high rating on Google. Very disappointed.

A hidden gem in Walthamstow. The food is absolutely divine. We had tempura vegetables, red chicken curry and green prawn curry and I honestly couldn't decide which one was my favourite dish. We were a bit worried that the deep fried veg might me oily and soggy, but itit w the opposite. Honestly high quality food that looks lovely and tastes incredible. We will be coming again.

Wandered round to this cute little place when staying nearby. It does look like a small take away from the outside but there are some seats and tables inside. Food was freshly made and DELICIOUS and the service was great too. Will definitely be back!

Great choice for takeaway, but we decided to have a sit in meal in this small and cosy establishment. Wonderfully fun ladies cooking and serving us. And the food was delicious and authentic. My friend's beef Pad Thai was a little chewy, but my beef Masamam was excellent and succulent. They just need to bump up the 3 star hygiene rating to draw in more punters.

I’ve driven past this place for the past 9 years as I live locally but it never inspired me. Oh what was I missing!!! Had a red curry with sticky rice, so fresh and flavoursome. A lot cheaper than a Thai chain of restaurants you can find in Walthamstow and Stoke Newington....

Had a takeaway menu put through our door a couple of weeks ago and decided to try tonight. Had a fabulous takeaway. Not cheap but really authentic fresh food. Only problem was that one container had leaked but only a minor inconvenience. Will be a regular for us now.

Unlike many Thai restaurants in London, O’Cha doesn’t serve up westernised Asian food. It’s freshly made, packed with flavour and stays true to northern Thai cooking. The owner and chef are lovely people. They usually deliver but there are a couple of tables inside if you like to dine in.

Have only had take away from here but always really yummy, piping hot, and good sized portions. Such a lovely delivery driver as well!

This restaurant served me one of the worst thai dishes i've ever eaten. The beef salad, it was very very very bad. I sent it back and they quickly allowed me to order an alternative. Top marks for customer service but that dish!

This is by far one of the nicest Thai restaurants I’ve ever tried, including places in Thailand. Everything I got was cooked so well and the meat was tender and juicy (good value too). I’d defintely eat here again and am happy to recommend this place to others.
