This is an interesting restaurant - small and with friendly staff. Food was very good - we particularly enjoyed the sharing dessert platter. The only issue we had was that choice of courses, perhaps unsurprisingly given the size of the restaurant, was a little limited - good choice of fish and vegetarian dishes but limited meat options and one or two surprising combinations. Worth looking at the menu online before you book in case you don’t fancy enough choices.

Very pleasant lunch. Overall very tasty. We were talking too much so apologies no photos. We had the lilunch offer. Fish stew was a 7 out of 10. . Just didn't have the wow factor. My cauliflower soup was excellent. Friends said their terrines were delicious . The Pig beer was really good ! The faggots were very tasty . . We couldn't finish them. . The Almond tart to finish was just lovely. . . All in all, we were blown away when we went to Pig in the Downs. . This one didn't quite hit that mark but still a pleasant afternoon with friends. Certainly not a cheap one . Drinks really rock the bill up here.. we will return to The Pig. It's always a warm and welcoming service. Sitting in front of the fire is the best way to waste a chilly autumn afternoon.

went with some friends to have some cocktails since they had happy hour 2 for 1. All the cocktails we had were very weak, watery and generally not good. I don't recommend it for drinks.

I recently visited Rabbit, and while the experience had its highlights, it left room for improvement. The starters and mains were decent but lacked seasoning—everything needed salt to bring out the flavors. However, the dessert stood out as the star of the meal, truly delightful and well-executed. Overall, the meal was a bit underwhelming, but the dessert made it memorable. If I were to return, it might be just to satisfy a sweet tooth.

My daughter has used this venue regularly and recommended it. Today we went for a family roast. In our party there were two vegetarians - we assumed that there would be a veggie roast option, much to our disappointment there was not. We were offered a mushroom risotto. The meat roasts were by all accounts excellent and we couldn’t fault the staff or service. However, the risotto was tasteless and bland. Our vegetarians had to return their food and remain hungry whilst the others enjoyed their feasts. We would really like to come back and hope that a Vegetarian option can be added - risotto felt like an after thought! We regularly go out for roasts and this first place that hasn’t been able to offer a veggie option.

Despite the huge birthday party taking up the whole of the ground floor, the staff at Gilbies - and particularly our waitress Rachel - looked after the two of us wonderfully well. We were given a table up on the mezzanine floor, our drinks were brought and our order taken nice and quickly, and then the food turned up in really good time. And the food was great! A selection of delicious tapas dishes, the star of the show being the Teriyaki belly pork (we'd eaten here before, so we ordered two portions). The party downstairs was in full swing when we left, wishing the staff good luck for the rest of the evening. Another memorable meal, and we'll definitely book in at Gilbies again, next time we're down Hereford way.

Food good, very poor service, staff don't seem that bothered in providing good service. we had to constantly ask to be served and waited best part of one hour on arriving before being attended too.The music was far to loud and you could not hear yourself talk with your friends on your table. The girls provided the best table service as the men were to busy with themselves.

The final evening of our mini-break in Norfolk and dinner at Titchwell Manor. We tend to eat early so there was an absence of other guests which meant the restaurant was very quiet. However that did not affect the quality of the food which was superb. Oh my, the gradvalax with caviar, cucumber and steamed cream was divine. For the main course a (deconstructed) shallot and walnut tart with broccoli spears and Parmesan. Dessert was a roasted banana parfait with praline. Delicious. The service was excellent, it was a thoroughly enjoyable dining experience.
