The final evening of our mini-break in Norfolk and dinner at Titchwell Manor. We tend to eat early so there was an absence of other guests which meant the restaurant was very quiet. However that did not affect the quality of the food which was superb. Oh my, the gradvalax with caviar, cucumber and steamed cream was divine. For the main course a (deconstructed) shallot and walnut tart with broccoli spears and Parmesan. Dessert was a roasted banana parfait with praline. Delicious. The service was excellent, it was a thoroughly enjoyable dining experience.

After unfortunately missing last years annual holiday visit due to a hip replacement i was back and as always excited to revisit Titchwell Manor for a very special meal on August 1st. Greeted by exemplary table host (Sam) and the bar host (sorry i forgot to ask her name) who were both attentive and professional to a top notch level. Canapes Crispy panko hot arancini filled with perfectly cooked rice and fresh sweet peas on top of a smooth as silk pea puree. Oyster with a paper thin batter which was crisp yet the oyster inside remained juicy and plump. This was presented dressed with a buffalo style sauce which was mid spicy and with its vinegar base worked extremely well not only with the oyster but also worked very well eating wise with the arancini. Lobster Thermidor The best cooked lobster ive had the pleasure in eating! It was crazy how it retained a meaty texture as you would expect but at the same time was like a beautifully cooked scallop. Accompanied by a dill oil and chicory leaf cradling a segment of pink grapefruit which as a lot of the cooking was an inspired small touch yet worked so well with the main focus. Ham Hock Melting texture packed with flavour, accompanied by the freshest of vegetables. The age old saying of well sourced simple ingredients done well. Poached Monkfish A beautiful piece of monkfish exceptionally cooked with a bisque with incredible depth of flavour. Pork Fillet Titchwell always nail their pork dishes, helped by the use of exceptional meat. Flavourful, succulent and a perfect example of well timed cooking and resting along with a very nice apple relish which seemed to utilise the apple skin too, great idea - more depth of flavour - yet very smooth. Now to the mind blowing pot of 'summer peas and beans'. This was almost hard to work out, it was like a hybrid of a sauce, veloute and emulsion. So fresh and delicious, initially dipped the pork in, then started drinking it! Summer fresh broad beans, fine beans and peas were at the bottom of the pot so back to using a spoon it was! Elderflower set cream Absolutely love anything elderflower so i could have taken a lot more of the fragrance however this was a superb end to the meal. As usual fresh summer fruit flavours dancing on the tastebuds. The set cream? Imagine a panacotta without the deliberate wobble. Rich, silky working in harmony with the sorbet and fruit. Overall an exceptional example of well sourced seasonal produce, precision cooking timing paired with some clever flavour pairings, along with beautiful surroundings. Counting the days till im back already!

We had the most wonderful Sunday Roast today at the Conservatory at Titchwell Manor. The service, as usual, absolutely great; pleasant and helpful. The ambiance of the Conservatory, with view of the garden is very pleasant. As to the food; roast beef with all the trimmings is one of the best in the area. We have tried most restaurants over the years, and for a Sunday Roast, there is only one other restaurant, which is just as good, and that is Socius at Burnham Market.

Stayed here with my boyfriend for a two-night break, definitely recommend! Our bedroom was gorgeous, super clean, huge comfy bed. The staff were all really friendly especially the young waitress at breakfast on the first day (think her name was Izzy/Daisy?). The food was great, huge breakfast selection and freshly cooked hot food to order. We had one evening meal at the hotel also - great portion sizes and good quality food. Definitely a bit more expensive but you 100% get what you pay for. Would recommend the choc caramel terrine for dessert, a personal favourite!!

This is my second visit to Titchwell Manor and I cannot fault this place at all! The staff are so attentive from helping you carry your luggage to your rooms right to providing you with free bottles of water for your onward joinery upon leaving. They were also particularly helpful with my mother who is not good with dogs so always ensured she was sitting away from them and checked regularly that she was comfortable. If you are looking for a complete break from everything you would be hard placed to find anything comparable to Titchwell Manor. The beautiful rooms, great food and beautiful scenery make this place hard to beat!

Pleased I could find different listings for the hotel and the restaurant as the reviews are very different (Hotel a more positive review). We ate while staying here (not really much choice) and thought that while the food while nice, was not outstanding but definitely not offensive either. Portion sizes are somewhat limited but most of all we were staggered by the price that came out at just under £90/head (and no, we are not rampant alcoholics!). Our view was this was definitely taking advantage of the location (ie pretty much everyone staying has to eat there) and left a really quite bitter taste about the whole experience. We had no issue with service - and the restaurant was quite quiet but we went out of main season so not unexpected. Shame really. No plans on returning - and rules out staying at the hotel too.

Booked a table for 7.15 had to wait over half an hour to be shown to the table in the far corner of a half empty restaurant. Although we had already ordered still had a long wait for our starters. Then after a long wait for our mains one of the dishes was wrong. After we finished our main course waitresses walked past our table multiple times ignoring the fact we had finished and wished to order a desert. When I made it clear I wasn't happy with the service the manager eventually asked if there was a problem. No apologies just excuses. However the food was much better than the service.

This has to be one of the most disappointing meals our regular dining friends (a group of 10) have ever experienced. We regularly dine out in Norfolk and Lincolnshire, with the aim of enjoying what East Anglia has to offer. Titchwell Manor used to offer a most enjoyable dining experience but sadly, no more. Very small portions of rather ordinary food at great expense. If you're in that area, AVOID ! Better to pop down the road to The Duck at Stanhoe - always very good value for money.

We stayed the night at Titchwell Manor and we’re completely blown away at the staff and service of this beautiful hotel. The booking process was so easy with the receptionist who also greeted us the minute we got out our car, we even got a room upgrade which was an added bonus. The evening/dinner staff were nothing but perfectionists and made our evening meal absolutely 10/10 from start to finish. The breakfast fairy was a total ray of sunshine & the exact wake up call we needed - just pure fun all weekend and we are so grateful for everyone at Titchwell. A incredible start to my partners birthday weekend.

Our first visit to Titchwell Manor, we felt it didn't really live up to its reputation. We had dinner in the two thirds empty restaurant, even though it was obviously not busy, the staff seemed in a muddle from when we arrived and the service was a bit haphazard throughout, with things being forgotten or taking a long time. We had mains and desserts, the food was OK but we felt it didn't justify the high prices. The restaurant looks out on a garden, sadly although neat and tidy, the garden looked rather neglected and no effort had been made to make it an attractive space (no flowers etc.) Overall we were underwhelmed and felt that Titchwell Manor is resting on its laurels rather than keeping up with the competition.

Another excellent meal at one of my favourite restaurants. Looking at some of the more negative reviews, I agree yes its pricey, but you get what you pay for and this place oozes class. We ate in the Bar area, overlooking the Titchwell estuary, which isn't like a normal bar, in that it still has a restaurant feel and isn't ridiculously noisy. The menu is imaginative with a good range of choices. They use quality high end locally sourced ingredients. I had prawn and salmon tartlet, followed by medallions of pork loin main (which was outstanding) with sides (cheese and onion fries-OMG superb) finished off with a delicious creme brulee. Portion sizes were absolutely fine, and for the level of cooking, ambience and service was good value. The wine list is extensive and excellent too with a wide range of usual's and unusual wines with a good cross section of pricing too. Good selection of local beer and spirits (gin) too. Could not be faulted, and after dinner cocktails on the terrace on a balmy August evening after a round of golf at Hunstanton, make this a special place to eat for me. Also, a lovely setting for pre dinner drinks in comfy chairs in the garden patio area with waiter service a nice touch too with charming service-don't know the guy's name in the red and white tie, but he's a really warm and engaging fellow. Also recommend a visit in the Autumn winter time with open fires and a cosy feel. Keep it up T Manor-its a high bar, and long may it last. Yous contentedly, Ian B. Ps check out Eric's fish and chips in Thornham...I challenge you find better f & c than this anywhere in the UK.

Ate here for dinner with family. Service was slow from start to finish and it wasn’t especially busy. What strikes you first is how expensive the food is. This might be ok if it was worth it but it really isn’t. We all enjoyed our food but the vegetarian main meal ordered by two of the group looked like a small side dish. It’s inconsistent whether you get a complete meal or have to order vegetables as a side dish - some have it, others don’t. Main meals ranged £20-32 but unless at the top end of that, you’d need to pay for vegetables as side orders. The desserts were nice but again portions were small and expensive. As we left, my wife and I said ‘rip off’ in unison. We certainly wouldn’t recommend it or choose to go back.

My wife and I stayed here for a few days to celebrate my birthday. We chose Titchwell Manor due to its location on the A149. From here we can catch the Coasthopper up or down the coast. The bus stops are 100 metres outside the hotel. We were greeted in the car park and shown to our room behind the hotel. We had Basil number 21. It is a large comfortable room, with walk in shower and the fluffiest towels we have ever had. The room was very well heated and the bed was very comfy. Breakfast was served from a civilised 8am. The plate of fresh fruit was really good. If you choose to have you eggs poached they will be the most perfect you will ever have with their lovely orange yokes. The rest of the components were equally good and served with leaf tea or great coffee. The bars each had a lovely roaring log fire, where we enjoyed a drink before our meal. The menu choices we made were ham hock, brioche piccalilli and burnt apple purée followed by venison, Jerusalem artichoke and rainbow kale. The other choice was marinated beetroot, basil pesto and goats cheese cream followed by salt baked celeriac, sage and onion with crispy kale. Both meals were outstanding. The venison was very tender and the celeriac was outstanding. On the basis of this dish, a very under stated vegetable. Service was very good and served at a speed we dictated without the continual pestering we have experienced elsewhere. We will definitely come back here as the whole stay was a great experience.

We have visited the Brancaster area for many years, staying normally at the White Horse at Brancaster Staithe (excellent in its own right). There are a number of great eating places on the coast road…I could say it’s great to dine on the A149! Lots of wonderful restaurants and pubs from Hunstanton down to Blakeney and beyond…but we haven’t been to Titchwell Manor until yesterday. What a gem, a roaring fire greeted us together with a lovely welcome from the staff. Menu was terrific, my plaice dish was so tasty. We enjoyed the whole experience and the attention we received was second to none. Definitely highly recommended. Perhaps try the whole package next time as the rooms look very tempting.

We went for a birthday treat, skipped starters, straight into the main, which was a wonderful piece of salmon fillet. The sauce was exquisite and there wasn't too much, nor too little. Deserts were amazing also. My partner has a gluten free diet, and the waiter was knowledgeable about what was and wasn't safe for her, without needing to check with the kitchen. The atmosphere was okay, however during these times of Covid, the strict use of facemasks other than at the table, and no ordering at the bar (for pre-drinks) was sorely missed. However, these are the times, and its reassuring to show Titchwell Manor has taken it's responsibilities to diners and staff seriously.

We stupidly hadn't booked anywhere in advance for Sunday dinner and everywhere we tried was full. Fortunately Titchwell Manor managed to squeeze us in (although when I say 'squeeze' they had put in a lot of covid 19 regulations and we were pleased to see all the tables really spread out and adhering to guidelines) The staff were all helpful and efficient. The starters and main courses were exceptional- really well presented and perfectly cooked, even the accompanying bread was delicious and freshly made.Unfortunately our childs meal was disappointing- bland creamy pasta with rock hard peas. The desserts were also really odd, I think its the first time I've eaten a dessert and craved something sweet afterwards. The pastry chef clearly had an aversion to sugar- I couldn't actually eat mine and mentioned to the waitress that the desserts were not as expected and were definitely lacking any sugar to the point we couldn't eat them- the waitress replied that she appreciated the feedback and then proceeded to charge us in full, even for the uneaten ones. This was a real shame as the rest of the meal had been so good- we were left with a bit of a sour taste in our mouths (literally!)We would return as the rest of the meal and service had been so good, but will definitely skip dessert next time!

We love Titchwell Manor. We are seasoned visitors to Norfolk, spending every summer here for many years but we only discovered this gem a couple of years ago. Firstly the position is stunning, the walk to the beach idyllic and look out for the seals. We love the style of the building and the old fashioned high standard service and attention to detail. But mostly we love the staff, super friendly, nothing is too much trouble . The breakfast is the best in Norfolk in my opinion and afternoon tea is a delight . Can’t wait to come back .

I think Titchwell Manor should be renamed the Highwayman’s Arms, because it was a rip off. Fine dining prices, but fine dining this was not. Valentine’s Day was supposed to be a special meal but we were left feeling very disappointed and somewhat confused. Very average, boney fish for £28, tough old lamb for £26 and flavours that just didn’t seem to work on the same plate. And on what planet do you give a massive chocolate marquis as a dessert appetiser, which meant that we had no room for our actual desserts when they finally arrived. The irony is that one of these desserts was yet more chocolate - a bland and stodgy chocolate fondant. The other was a deconstructed tarte that in my humble opinion should have stayed constructed. I’m not sure if the chef had the night off, or just had their mind on other things, but someone was trying too hard to be clever and it just didn’t work. As for the service - we were left waiting ages between courses and it felt anything but a special occasion. I’m not writing this to be vindictive or damage someone’s business, but when you charge the best part of £100 for a meal, you’ve got to be sure you can deliver. Needless to say I won’t be coming back.

My wife and were looking forward to our Valentine lunch out, but it was not to be.Few cars in the car park and only 2 other people eating when we arrived should have set the alarm bells ringing. The menu was very limited. I had a steak and my wife had fish, both came with I suspect packet fries and a leaf salad. The salad consisted of small pile of packet salad leaves with a tasteless dressing. My steak was about 8mm thick and dry. My wife's fish was a thin breaded affair, which was tasteless. Each dish was £15 and would have been a ripoff at £5.Clearly it was the chefs day off as it was probably the least skilfully cooked meal we have endured in a long time.My advice go somewhere else

My husband and I were really looking forward to our meal tonight but unfortunately were left really disappointed. The menu was extremely limited and did not have a great choice, we had to wait over 45 minutes between the starter and main course and were really disappointed by the quality of the food when it finally came. The chips were really dry and the fish was full of bones which for £28 is just unacceptable. We then had to wait a further 20 minutes before we were brought our dessert menus (which we had to ask for as no one brought them over) and then proceeded to order the chocolate fondant. We were then brought a pre-dessert which was a huge chocolate marquis. We weren’t told about this when we ordered our dessert so we then had one chocolate dessert followed by another! Although when it finally came the chocolate fondant was tasteless. The meal cost over £100 in total and I felt I would not have been impressed if it had been £25. Extremely disappointing and certain would not recommend.

They offer them a free sausage at breakfast and doggy biscuits throughout the day! The rooms are large but cozy and modern. Our breakfast was lovely, the best thing about it being the cranberry and rusk cereal. This is our second stay here and would return however the only slight downside for us is the location. We were looking forward to pre Christmas lunch in this well recommended restaurant unfortunately this time we were left very disappointed. Being British nothing was said at the time each thinking ‘it was just mine’ afterwards it was apparent that it was not. The timing of our arrival must have coincided with a pause in a busy period as the starters had mostly gone and those left were bland and looked unappetising although they were topped up later, we missed out. The main courses added to the disappointment as the Plaice was overcooked therefore very dry and the roast beef was either rare or rare which did not please all. Those choosing pork however did hit a winner as that was tender and well presented. The staff were friendly and efficient. I am sure that this was a one off but consistency is key.

Dinner was included and was very enjoyable. It was great to see that the veggie options were well thought out and not simply added as an afterthought to tick a box which we find in many other places. Breakfast was great as well. We only stayed one night which is also a big bonus as many local high end places have a 2 night minimum which if you are quite local (like us) is too much if you can only get away from the kids for a single night. Five stars from these two and four legged guests. Just home - about 40 minutes away - from our first stay here. A perfect spot for a bit of relaxation for us and our 13 year old greyhound. All staff we encountered were friendly and helpful and took delight in accommodating our old girls needs as charmingly as our own.

After spending an early morning preamble around Titchwell Nature Reserve we stopped off here for coffee before travelling on. Nice and warm atmosphere and comfortable sofas to relax in after our very cold "hike". Our only complaint was an unfriendly receptionist who seemed to find it difficult to look up when we asked for service as there was no one else available when we arrived ( not the way to welcome guests !)

We had been advised by friends and family to stay here when on our travels in Norfolk as we come so often with our pooches , so for my birthday we booked one of the rooms that opens onto the enclosed garden at the back because we had our doggies with us. Cannot compliment this hotel highly enough ; we were made to feel welcome but our German shepherd girls were treated like princesses and rightly so, some places shy away from large dogs which is a a shame but not Titchwell . From the moment we arrived we had a warm welcome , the room was lovely and spotless , the bar area for doggie parents is lovely as is the conservatory where we ate dinner and breakfast. Short drive up the road to brancaster beach , so what ever time of year I’d highly recommend Titchwell whether your a dog parent or not 10/10 Wel be back !

Had a lovely, relaxing 3 night stay here with our 9 month old puppy. The room with access to the garden was great and the staff were very friendly and helpful. In particular Rinaldo (hope I have spelled this correctly) who was our evening host and made sure Casper had a Pooch biscuit to keep him occupied while we had dinner. Thank you.

The portions were very small and every thing was extra. £4 for a portion of cabbage, the same for mashed potato. So a £20 main became £28. I'm not a big eater and I left feeling hungry . We paid £90 for 2 courses and 2drinks per couple !! Not on my return list.

This isn’t the first time we’ve been to Titchwell & it won’t be the last! We live a short 10-15 minute drive from here and it remains one of our favourites along the coast. I can’t comment on the main/normal menu as we ALWAYS choose the Norfolk tapas which is to die for. The chefs change the menu from time to time, however the returning favourites of ours are the chorizo and prawn tapas. They are divine. The last few times we have visited, it’s sadly been lacking in atmosphere which is a real shame as the location and venue itself are extremely appealing. Personally, I think it’s extremely underrated here & there are numerous pubs along this coastline that have more custom and simply don’t deserve it!! Give it a go if you’re in the area!

We visited for lunch. First of all, we were told we could not sit at the window table where the comfortable seats were “in case a party of 5 came in” even though the 2 of us have sat at that same table on previous occasions and an identical table was already occupied by just 2 people. No one else did come in (there were only 2 other people eating the whole time we were there which is probably not a good sign). We ended up having to sit at a most unattractive metal table on unbelievably uncomfortable wooded chairs - not good when you are senior citizens.

We had a delicious Sunday lunch. We were a table of 10 and we all thoroughly enjoyed our food. The children ate for free and were also given a little bag of goodies to keep them occupied. The buffet of starters were so good I had to stop myself going back up for more so that I had enough room for my roast beef! Will definitely be going back, it was great value for money for the quality of food we ate.

A two night stay at this delightful hotel - reviewed separately because our dining experience was disappointing. On previous visits we have twice had a taster menu and on both occasions it was fantastic - the first, the best taster I have ever had, the second just as good. And then a club night, also excellent.

We, like others, took advantage of Norfolk Restaurant Week to have lunch in the bar. It took a while to be shown to our table as there didn’t seem to be anyone else around other than the young lady behind the bar who appeared to be occupied but once we were seated the service was prompt.

Norfolk Restaurant week and the food was very imaginative and tasty, BUT the main course was tiny (partridge) and we had to wait quite a long time.

It’s Norfolk Restaurant Week again and we start our round of visits with TM. The deal is two courses for £18 and three for £23, it allows you to sample many fine eateries without breaking the bank. The menu here is imaginative and a long way removed from standard pub grub. Mrs T started with poached haddock and smoked mussels (which she expected to be warm) I had the braised pork cheek. Round one to me. Main course she opted for Lamb belly (my preference) but I went for the partridge breast/sausage roll....I lost that one. Nothing wrong, but the partridge breast was not a riot of flavour whereas the anchovies gave the lamb a real kick.

Today we had lunch as part of North Norfolk Restaurant Week. For the price of an average pub lunch we had an astonishing set of dishes that delighted and surprised. Very friendly service and comfortable surroundings. Lovely roaring fire, just what we needed.

Another gem on the North Norfolk Coast. The main pub is a little plain compared to the beautiful restaurant. Food was excellent and all 5 of us thoroughly enjoyed the evening. More lovely fresh local produce.

We visited for an evening meal with our dog. We had Gin and Tonics first and then enjoyed all three meal courses. It was a Saturday and I guess fairly busy although it wasn't too easy to tell as we were in the bar area with our dog.

We have driven past the manor more times than we can remember, so finally we got around to staying. The hotel was busy when we arrived, parking was a bit of a squeeze, but no dramas. Our chosen room was lovely, comfortable bed, great bathroom, everything we expected.

Pea soup was served from a jug to the bowl at the table which was practical and impressive. Good wines. Reasonably priced Tapas menu available. Mix and match menus Thanks

I read all the recent reviews which are pretty positive. It was a big surprise to have a very average meal here, with friends, not to be repeated. The very small starter of Quiche had no adornments on the plate, not even a lettuce leaf. The tiny fish pie was tasty but watery, not unusual but expected this to be better here. It comes with three baby leeks that looked sad and lonely. Thankfully we had some homemade complimentary bread to fill us up. Service was polite but just missed the mark at times. Very disappointed.

Chalet-type dwellings which felt like mews houses. The hotel is close to Brancaster beach which has yellow sand but watch out for the tide. Breakfast choices were varied but service a bit slow and was not especially busy but it is a country inn and not in a big tourist area. Will definitely use again. Rooms 7 and 8, travelling with a teen.

There are many good places to eat in norfolk but this is not one of them. The starter was a stodgy fishcake, the lamb was virtually uncooked and the pudding was cold coconut rice pudding !! YUK.....and it cost a fortune..

If you are lucky enough to be able to get a booking for Supper Club, it is highly recommended. Not only is this an opportunity to taste fantastic dishes, you also have the chance to enjoy the wonderful views across the fields to the sea glinting in the sunlight. Served on long tables, this is also a chance to meet new friends and enjoy a convivial evening of conversation and good company. The concept has been very popular, so booking ahead is a good idea. At other times, the Conversation menu, created by Eric Snaith and his esteemed team, provides a myriad of exquisite flavours and new taste experiences. Breakfast is always pretty tasty too with home made muesli and granola, including gluten free options. Highly recommended all round.

Checked into two rooms in the herb garden with dogs. Lovely rooms. Dogs catered for with a bed and snacks! Lots to choose from for breakfast-would recommend the salmon and scrambled eggs. The weather was dire but the staff were up beat and accommodating. There were a selection of teas in the room which were lovely. Only downside was not too many places to sit and relax - the lounges were a bit formal. Otherwise enjoyed stay immensely.

We went in one day for a nice meal, me and my fiancé orderd a milkshake, hers was cold and mine was warm. I orderd a panini, and when it arrived, the server dropped it on the table and instead of offering a new one they went "oops" and put it back on the plate. Also the salad is lettuce and tomatoes, thats it

I chose the fish burger with a Japanese twist. The cod was chunky & juicy and the batter delicious & the pickle adds a different interest which works really well. I hesitated over my choice as it was an unknown option for me but I was not disappointed as it was delicious. The rest of the family had the cod & chips were again first class. Only warning…….go easy when ordering the size of chips as the portions are very generous. When next in Norfolk will definitely pay a return visit.
