Came here a few days ago with a friend. The setting was perfect as we needed to talk, eat and have a drink. It was our 2nd visit.Good friendly service, even though the initial contact took a while. The drinks came out quickly, but, the food took its time, seeing as we were the only table there at the time. The chips were great as usual, but, the burger this time was not. Dry and over cooked. I was hungry and tucked in anyway, but, don't think I'll be eating here again when there are so many other places in the direct vicinity. Will definitely be back for a drink sometime tho....

We visited Kamique Bar on Tuesday night and it was great! It was not overly busy, the staff were friendly and attentive and the pear cocktail I was recommended to try was one of the best I have ever had. There were three of us and we sat in what looked like the red room from Twin Peaks! - so much fun. Kamique has a great chilled-out atmosphere, without having all the bad habits of a chain. Yes the music was cheesetastic (in a good way), but the food was so fresh and well cooked - hot too, which is surprisingly rare. All in all, Kamique is well situated, has great, well priced food (especially for Central London) and lovely staff.Perfect option for after-work or post shopping eats.

We bought a wowcher deal for a dinner at Kamique as a quick pre-theatre eat on Friday night. The deal provided a good opportunity to try a restaurant that we would not normally have even found. Having arrived the place was quite impressive Playing the latest pop music. The opening words from the host after we told her we had a table booked were "are you wowcher" and without another word we were shown thorough the bar and out the back to a small room clad in red velvet -literally from floor to ceiling. The host pointed to a table and then left without a word. We sat down and waited... After several minutes a different member of staff came over and asked which wine we would like, she then disappeared and we waited some more, several more minutes later another waitress came over and asked if we were ready - we explained that we had not even received menus. She came back a few minutes later with some special 'wowcher menus' and asked us whether we would like red or white wine (again). We had a look through the menu and there was a good variety including burgers, gammon, steak, and falafel. Both my girlfriend and I had the squid entree which wasn't bad, and the burger main which was great. All the food came up very quickly, well presented, well cooked and hot. The service wasn't as good. Overall the experience was 6/10 it seemed like it was first and foremost a bar, but was trying to increase it's table reservations hence the wowcher deal. The kitchen did a good job the overall failure was the average service that did not make us feel comfortable or welcome. The atmosphere in the velvet room was non existent, with no music except the thumping coming through from the bar - the restaurant didn't even have any speakers playing the music but at a lower volume which would have helped. So this place has great potential but the management needs to encourage better service and improve the dining atmosphere. I would go back for an after work drink where there was a good ambiance in the bar.

This restaurant is in a great location, in a back street off Covent Garden. Inside is huge but they way they have the tables and on three different levels feels almost intimate in the section we were in (top floor). We reserved a table which was good as it got extremely busy. I could not fault our server who new exactly what was going on around him which was nice. The 3 of us spent 11/2 hours trying many many dishes - my favorite being Slow Cooked Pork Cheeks - beautiful taste. The Sangria was good. Al in all good value for money.

It shouldn't take an hour to deliver a simple prawn salad and a burger for a pre-theatre meal. Our experience was marred by the delay in service, having arrived with plenty of time to spare and to savour the atmosphere, it started to become clear that service was taking some time to deliver. Another couple walked out after being ignored for 15 minutes. The food when it arrived was good, but had to be rushed. Fortunately, I was able to get our server to bring the bill with the main course, so we could make a speedy exit, and she did remove the service charge from the total in recompense for what could have been a relaxing pre-theatre experience.

Kamique Bar on St Martins Lane is within walking distance from both Leicester Square and Charring Cross Underground stations. We picked this bar for its, location as we were going on to the Hippodrome for dinner and some fun in the casino, which was only a couple of minutes walk at the most. We arranged to all meet at Kamique, when we arrived we were pleased to find out that there was a "happy hour" not sure how long this lasts but by the time we had had several drinks we didn't care. The atmosphere is buzzing, staff very welcoming, and I would go as far as to say quite amusing? Cannot comment on the quality of their cocktails other than their Mojitos which were excellent, on our "Mojitos Scale" these were about 7.5 out of 10 pretty good going as we are still looking for a 10! We did not try any of the food, but what we saw being served looked good and the restaurant area at the back looked really inviting. This is a great venue to either start or finish the evening, plenty of seats and little alcoves just in case you want to hide away with a friend. Certainly worth trying, I notice that another reviewer has said it's noisy, well what do you expect from a central London bar come-restaurant, it's

We ate here around 7pm on a mid-week night and were very impressed with the buzzing atmosphere and welcoming staff. We ordered two mocktails, a glass of wine and a beer. They were of a very high quality even though they didn't arrive immediately. We ordered the Kamique platter (duck rolls, vegetable rolls, chicken skewers, prawn crackers) and a portion of calamari to share for starter. They were both delicious and clearly freshly made. The dips that came with the platter were so good we kept them for our mains! Our main courses were also very impressive. I had the Pad Thai with prawns which was really lovely and flavoursome. The honey and soy glazed salmon was also superb. One member of our party had the Oriental beef salad which was beautifully tender and contained a good range of other ingredients. The burger was good, however the onion rings and chips were the most impressive part of the dish - they were extremely moreish! Desserts and coffee were also good.We were all really impressed by the friendliness of the staff and the attention to detail. The atmosphere was great and I'd really recommend this as a place to eat whether before a show, a night out or just for a good value, quality meal out.

First thing to say is that I don't believe this is anything to do with Jamie Oliver - if I had thought that it was, we wouldn't have gone there. We selected the place as we couldn't agree on anywhere else. My son and I ordered chicken wings as a starter, only to be told they were off. The alternative meat and cheese platter was nice enough, but rather pricey. The burgers were OK, but nothing special, and all in all it was relatively dear for fairly average food - still, I suppose that's par for the course for the location. I wouldn't hurry back, but I wouldn't avoid the place either.

Depsite the huge size of the restaurant and it not being full, we were seated at the very back. This detracted from any sort of atmosphere it might have offered. The cocktails were delicious and very well priced. The serviced was terrible, our waitress struggled with her English and left us waiting far too long between visits. My friend found a plastic something in her meal, we presented it to her when asking for our bill. She acted horrified and went off to the kitchen. She never returned and we had to ask a second time for the bill, which was returned by a different waitress. There wasa small discount on it, which was not explained to us.We found the prices quite good anyway so were happy to pay and just left.Overall it was nice, but considering it is Jamies I really was expecting more.

It was OK. We had a post-theatre meal there on a Friday night and chose it because it was raining and it was more or less the first place we saw and I have been a big Jamie fan from the beginning so we thought, why not. I don't know if this is actually his place or if he has just given his name to it? The service was so-so, the food was bland, not bad, not good, just not very tasty or interesting. What's happened to my favourite Naked Chef? We were really surprised as we were expecting something better. The girls that served us weren't that interested in what they were doing, had no idea about the wines. The worst thing was apparently the men's toilets. My husband was shocked and said that by 11pm they were absolutely disgusting...I didn't ask for details. Jamie I think you need to get yourself down there and sort it out. Pity.

We happened across this wine bar having been "turfed' out of Browns across the way as our table was needed for another sitting. Covent garden itself was heaving because of the Rugby and all restaurants and bars packed to the rafters. As we were celebrating a birthday we wanted cocktails and nibbles Jamies wine bar fitted the bill perfectly. They didn't have a table initially but we were invited to have a drink at the bar and await a vacant table - 10 mins later we were seated at a table in what proved to be a great venue. The music although in the background was great, the atmosphere warm and friendly, the nibbles delicious and the cocktails plentiful. The staff were extremely attentive and if I had one slight criticism it would be that the service was a little slow when bringing drinks but given that we were having such an enjoyable time it is truly a minor criticism. As a group of friends all 40+ we had great time and would certainly recommend and will most definately go back again.

From the service and seating to food – all of it was just dreadful! If you cannot cope with large groups (or serving hot decent food generally) you shouldn’t have so many covers - waiting over an hour for tapas is just not acceptable. When the “food” did finally arrive it was either dry or swimming in grease and cold! On complaining to the manager we were told; sorry there’s nothing I can do…Avoid like the plague unless you want to catch it!

We have tried the La Tasca Kitchen Bluewater (within the shopping mall) and it was quite a friendly restaurant with speedy service. The food however was not as good as I remembered.... and the non-alcoholic cocktail was not great...We tried the deep fried squid and the white fish and loved the fish... The duck leg with lentil was really interesting and meaty so will recommend to try if you like these ingredients. The meatball sauce was not as thick as the one that I've tried before.Overall, it has become quite an average place with the new menu...

We love Spanish food, and so were looking forward to La Tasca. Our first foray was to Canary Wharf a couple of years ago, where even basics like Tortilla and chorizo were very poor and barely edible. The experience was so bad in fact, that we complained via the website. We did, in fairness, get a call from the branch manager, who was apologetic but philosophical about the quality of the food "it's a chain, what can you expect?" was her attitude. She offered me vouchers which she suggested we spent on drinks as we clearly weren't interested in sampling any more food. Predictably the vouchers never arrived. Time is a great healer, so last week we tried the St Martin's Lane branch with equally disastrous results: the tapas were, almost without exception, woeful; the fried calamari for example was swimming in so much oil, the batter was falling off it. The surly staff couldn't care less – many of them were Spanish, so perhaps they were just embarrassed. Certainly the cheesy matador costumes they had to wear are a joke and would have demoralised me, for sure. If you have fond memories of eating great food in friendly restaurants in Spain, avoid La Tasca like the plague. You have been warned.

Regrettably, Tasca is not any more as before. They changed the main course menu and not in the right direction. Furthermore, they impose for New Year's Eve a card of dishes very expensively which does not include the drink. You have one to dine compound of dishes which do not please necessarily. We went there recently and the restaurant was very noisy, a Calvary. I do not thus recommend it to you any more.

This is a very casual restaurant, wearing anything other than baggy jeans and an old tshirt will be too much. So I felt too over dressed when I walked in with my classic black dress. The atmosphere was ok, red tea lights lit each table in a dimmed lit (romantic'ish) Spanish style theme. The servers were polite and attentive for the most part, my only criticism is the waiting time for food. We had booked our table for & arrived on time @9pm, and ordered our meal. As we dined so late in the evening the chef had no other dishes to prepare but ours. Although this was a fact 60mins had past and we were still waiting for our food, we enquired & was told it won't be much longer, then a server came and said he noticed we still haven't eaten, so he'll check on our order.A further 30mins went by, then by 10:30pm our food arrived.Every single diner who was previously eating had finished and left, leaving me and my date in an empty and now even darker restaurant (as every single tea light had burnt out by then)Obviously disappointed!! The server only apologised and went on his way. Nothing further was done to make up for our now ruined night, ie; a free coffee or even 5% off the bill was not offered. The food was good, squid and prawns esp nice.I don't know if this waiting time was a 1off or everyone has this service but I would only recommend a friend to this place for the taste of the food. I would however warm them to eat before they go, as you will be sitting there so long you will get extremely hungry and faint.

Got a reservation for an after opera meal. Serrano ham was not available.........in a tapas restaurant! So one of us declined a starter, the other went for Queso Manchego with a Pan de Barra because he was hungry. £6.25 for an indifferent cheese and tomato sandwich! We ordered the Paella Valenciana for 2 (cooked to order). It was dry and we spent our time trying to find something to eat in a pan of over cooked tomato flavoured rice. The charming waitress did the obligatory "How is your paella?" Before I could say "awful" the other half (Don't forget we are Brits and Brits find complaining painful - except for the fact that another party was complaining like crazy but we couldn't hear what about) said "lovely"! We had a train to catch. I paid the bill, left the nice waitress a tip in cash, and walked out vowing never to return. Sorry La Tasca.....I've eaten in your Reading branch and it was fine, but in St Martins Lane the quality control was dubious.
