The best restaurants serving Seafood food in Isle of Anglesey North Wales

This evening we went to the Sea Shanty to sample the new winter menu. what a truly bitter disappointment it was. I ordered liver bacon and onion gravy served with mash potato. It arrived drowned in gravy you couldn’t see anything except a brown liquid which was tasteless. My husband had the turkey dinner also swamped in a light coloured gravy also tasteless. All the food looked as if it had been cooked a couple of days ago and warmed up in the microwave and then flooded with soulless gravy. They did offer us something else which we declined. As regular customers who have visited regularly ever since it opened I can only think it was just a bad night or the so called chef was having an off day. Please sort it out as your food is normally tasty and good to eat.

Lovely meal with a great atmosphere. Came here during our stay in Wales at half term. Service was friendly and speedy. Food was tasty and they catered well for my partner who is coeliac. Highly recommend the Fish Chowder!

Best fish & chips on the island. The online ordering works perfectly and staff so pleasant. I usually get small cod, small chips & mushy peas. Generous size meal I struggle to finish.

We called in on our way around Holyhead, best fish and chips I’ve had it a long time. Portions were very generous, nice big well cooked fish, proper chips. Definitely recommend 👍👍

Booked online for a birthday tea on Saturday 5/10/24 …turned up but you were closed! Now very hungry with nowhere to eat … not ideal

What an lovely restaurant, great staff, beautiful food. A wonderful place to visit when taking a break! Well done all! Make this a priority to visit when you are visiting the area. It was worth the 30min's drive from where I stayed over.

Perfect pisgod a sglodion, no grease, a perfect sized portion too, so no wasted chips. It can get busy so be prepared to wait a little. It's worth it as it's freshly cooked. The curry sauce is particularly fine too Sorry there are no photos I couldn't wait to start on them.

We enjoyed a very nice evening at Sandy Mount House. In this stylish restaurant, we had an excellent meal, serviced with professionalism and courtesy by Helen . A lovely unhurried atmosphere and a most pleasant ambiance, it was just the way an evening in a good restaurant should be. Full marks to this establishment. It is not the first time we have been here and it certainly will not be the last ! We recommend Sandy Mount unresevedly. Thank you.

Extremely average. Greasy chips, pretty tasteless fish. Last visit we went Finney’s in Benllech, so much better. Go if desperate..

Probably my last visit for the summer. Cod, chips and mushy peas. Cooked to order as normal and absolutely amazing food. Lovely friendly staff and will be back in April.

Just had the worst fish and chips I’ve ever had in my life. Tasteless. Chips were freezing, anaemic and slimy - like old chips refried in cold fat. Fish batter was so soggy. This place used to be great but it’s getting progressively worse. Never again. Nice box though …

Only place open for a coffee after a walk. Service was really slow just for 2 drinks and 2 cakes. Flat white was not- just a weak coffee with froth ontop. We sat inside and regretted it as it was ridiculously stuffy and table tops sticky. Dog friendly - again, which irritates me as not all if us wish to share eating space with canines. While we were waiting another customer cane in and added I'd it would help I'd he made his own tea?!! Terrible service. The millionaires shortbread was very good but that's about it

Just been served the smallest and worst tasting portion of chips ever. I asked the lad serving if that’s all I was getting and instead of answering me he chose to totally ignore me. Been going there for years but never again.

Always had good meals in the past and we love the curry sauce but now wouldn't recommend this chippy. Save your money. Tonight's dinner was very expensive, no fish bough either. We live 5 minutes away and food was stone cold. The chips were dry and chewy like they'd been yesterday's and reheated. The curry, sauce, gravy and mushy peas were all stone cold and gloopy even though everything was well wrapped. Far too expensive and poor quality now...... we won't be coming back.
