Scarlett's Fish & Chip Shop in Isle of Anglesey

Awful customer service and the food equally the same. Chips were awful and the curry sauce. The only nice part was the fishcake. It's a shame as this place could be so much better. Considering how much you pay you would expect better. Sadly I wouldn't return here.

I thought I was going to be sick about two hour after eating these and due to the shop being almost sold out of most things by 7.45 pm I didn’t have a large potion of anything. The rest of the family mostly felt really ill too. Horrible smelly oil used. White chips. Cost £90 for not a lot of food. Mushy peas tasted like saltwater . 48 hours later we have just about digested the meal.

Chips were bland, pale and nearly raw. Fish was ok but batter flat and soggy. Scampi was very fishy smelling and totally tasteless. Go to a restaurant and have fish and chips for about 20% more cost, with 10X the flavour!

We were spending the day on the beach and decided to walk up for lunch. We ordered 3 fish & chips (2 large and one regular) and a pot of gravy. It was £38!!! My husband questioned this, but when we looked at the board it was £4.95 for a large chips. We took them down to the beach and ate them. The fish was nice, but very greasy and this made the chips underneath very greasy. Not worth the money and we would not return.

I only had a small portion of chips to share with my daughter so normally wouldn't bother writing a review for something like that but we both agreed they were probably the best chips we had in ages so thought I would share

I ordered a small chips and curry sauce, a sausage bap and a bottle of coke. Most expensive meal at £18…i misheard it was £8 and handed over my card to the machine… Mediocre at best. I won’t be returning.

So disappointed with this place. Visited last night. Paid almost £65 for 4 fish and chips and 2 kids meals. The fish portions were tiny and freezing cold. The mushy peas were runny and tasteless, and the service was shocking. Will not be returning.

The fish was excellent and cooked freshly for us. The batter was as fine and crispy as any tempura - and we have just returned from Japan! Chips were great and I can highly recommend.

Had take away Fish n Chips after our busy day on Anglesey. We were staying in a house nearby. The Fish was light and the thin crispy batter was perfect. Nice chips lots of them Tasty curry sauce and gravy pots. Not cheap …but we ate every bit.

Great tasting fish, chips great too. Would definitely eat again if in the area. Was able to take my dogs with me we then walked down to eat it at one of the benches near the beach.

The driest reheated chips I’ve ever eaten. Soggy batter on the fish. Never eaten such poor fish and chips. We were first on opening so no excuse for the poor quality of the cooking of the food.

Stay in Rhosneiger every year....and this is the last year we'll give here a chance, 3 times food has been missing from our order when we get home, cold food twice, never seen mushy peas so green with food additives....they are complaicent as they are the only Fish and Chip shop near..... ..Aydins far better!

This is the best chippy I've been to on holiday! Lovely fresh fish. Light crispy batter. Well cooked chippy chips. Even though there was a massive queue on both occaisions, I was served quickly, and they had enough fish for everyone, even close to closing time.

Best I’ve had in a while absolutely gorgeous fish and chips. Amazing chips and perfect ungreasy fish. 100% recommend! Lovely!

Absolutely disgusting pretty much sums up my opinion of this place, the 2 girls serving need training on how to treat customers a older gentleman asked a question and left without an answer just a fithy look , after paying almost £20 for food the chips were disgusting and inedible they went in the bin. Will not be going back there again

came here on Sunday 20th of aug. had lovely fish and chips, the fish was flavourful and the batter was cooked to perfection! and there was not one chip left over. not to mention the mushy peas that also went down a treat! the girls at the front counter were so friendly and polite. will definitely be visiting again soon, would highly recommend this place😊

Terrible staff issues Went there today 20th August at 2 pm Was blanked , then pulled faces at by a member of staff when we mentioned price list which we had no issues with Absolutely mortifying to say the least, the young lady with black hair was so obnoxious and rude pulled faces when we ordered and didn’t look and yelled salt and vinegar Will not be returning as of her !!!!

Oh my days! I don’t really go to the Chippy often because I’m always on a diet! I know aren’t we all these days! I’m still salivating thinking about the food. Such a great meal tonight and superb service too. The place is spotless! I can’t wait for my next fix!!

All foods cooked in the same oil, nothing gluten free as other reviews suggest, so we left without ordering, as my coeliac daughter and niece can't eat this food.

I’ve often visited this chip shop because they sell lovely fish, but the last few times I had been the chips were a big let down, the last time I went they were really dark in colour which was abit off putting and didn’t make them look appetising, not sure if they’re just using the wrong type of potato but they just don’t seem right. A shame really

Sorry but we were very underwhelmed by the quality of the food. The fish was over cooked, and had obviously been "sitting" in the heated display cabinet for quite a while as the batter was really hard and inedible on the underside. Peas very over sweet. Chips over cooked. To be honest we threw most away, and would have actually returned the food pre covid (didnt want to bother queuing again etc).

Best Fish n Chips we have had in years, well worth the visit and queue, great social distancing steps taken and queue moved quickly

Get it on a good day and the chips are great, on a bad day they are over cooked and not very nice. Set in a great location and it's easy to wander to the beach with a tray of chips in hand.

Wanted to end our holiday with fish and chips on the beach with the sun going down. Called here and was highly impressed with the Covid-19 efficient service. I don’t eat F&Cs very often ( tend to find it all too heavy going) but the fish was beautiful and the batter not too heavy and the chips were just right! Oh Anthea beach and the sunset were wonderful as well

This was recommended to me by the older welsh barmaid in the glan neigr ( I think it’s important to say who recommends places, so they can be thanked ! ) , she wasnt wrong the fish was delicious and the chips were crisp , not the best chippy I’ve been too compared to Whitby but very nice , the staff were nice a very friendly young man behind the counter , covid restrictions were very good , but the queue was massive ! Visited Scarlett's twice during our week's holiday in Rhosneigr - quite simply excellent quality fish & chips, very satisfying portion sizes and fast, convenient Covid-safe service. Check opening times as they dropped a day during our week, assuming due to the schools being back and fewer tourists.

Worked in the town and this chippy was a life saver. Not many places open and the staff and food is great

They were very busy and the queue looked daunting - but their 'one out one in' procedure worked so well we got served in no time at all!

Wouldn't usually review a Fish & Chip Shop; however, I have to say... and I'm not the only one in our group with this opinion... these Fish & Chips were fantastic. Expecting to queue, having seen it snake around the corner the past couple of days, I was surprised when I was able to walk straight in, especially as the Shop is operating a one in, one out policy through Covid. Having placed my order, which was for a party of 11, the staff were prompt, polite and very helpful. They went out there way to help and were very swift in preparing my order.When we arrived home, the chips were fresh and the batter on the fish was beautiful and crispy. The fish just melted in the mouth, the taste was sensational. Everything was fantastic and we all enjoyed a final holiday treat together! Nothing went to waste and the kids fought over the remaining chips! Brilliant meal, hats off to Scarlett's Fish & Chip Shop! We WILL return...

Stopped off to grab dinner! I dont usually like fish and chips, well I often find them a let down and wish I’d never eaten them! But not these ones, the portions are a good size and the fish and batter was amazing! Definitely stop here to get some!
