I am disappointed as I was really looking forward to trying the calamari and lobster dishes. Both were bland, the calamari were just the squid tubes, they came with nothing else to give any flavour or texture. The lobster was also tasteless, again with no sauces, but as I had not had these dishes before I had nothing to compare it with, so said nothing. We had our meal outside which was in such a lovely setting, unfortunately dogs on another table were making a lot of noise with their barking....

What a find on our holiday to the area from Scotland! This was our 3rd visit to the area and had driven past this several times not realising it was there. There was scaffolding at one end of the building and a boarded up window above the entrance so you'd be forgiven for thinking its closed but we are so glad we discovered it and will definitely be back next year. Parking was plentiful and easy too. The staff were extremely friendly and welcoming, including our son in the conversation , which really makes them stand out from other places we have eaten. The restaurant was fairly quiet when we arrived for our 6 o'clock booking but by 7/7.15 most of the tables were full but not spoiling the atmosphere. The food was excellent and the portions were huge!!! I highly recommend the deep fried brie starter and the haddock and Welsh beef burgers and even the way they cook the chips was amazing. the puddings did not disappoint either. overall value was 5*. we noticed the enormous beer garden when we left and hopefully we can return next year on a nice summer's day and use this as it looked like an amazing spot. hopefully they will have raspberry gin by then 😜

I had heard loads about this place. So decided to visit it during our visit to snowdonia. We got takeaway from here on a friday night and it was, as per the other nights very busy. I have to say it was really good value for money compared to London prices. Food was provided in quite a speedy manner. However the quality of the food was not as good as I had anticipated. The cod was small and soggy. The chips what a generous portion but did not taste fresh. This sauces were an dditional cost. We ended up paying 3 pounds extra for tartar sauce and tomato ketchup. Not the best fish and chips.

This was a last minute booking but so glad we went. The set up is basic and there appeared to only be one server but boy did she do well. The menu is a bit different but all the dishes we chose were delicious. 2 Paella's, one Spanish prawns and one meatballs. Amazing flavours and very different from anything you will find in the area. Not a scrap left on any of our plates so that says it all. Dog friendly too! Give it a go if you fancy something different.

A great local chippy just a 20-minute walk from the town centre. Popped in one midweek afternoon. Good service and very good fish & chips. Reasonably priced and delicious too! Recommended.

Friday afternoon and we had a craving for traditional fish and chips. Walked the length of the High Street past fancy studenty cafes - most of which were shut - and found Templetons right at the end of the street as we were giving up all hope. What a find! Big, golden, lightly battered fish, excellent chips and mushy peas with bread and butter and a mug of tea £11. Nice, welcoming staff who gave us a great overview of the town. Just what a new student needed to find! Happy to leave my son well-fed and well-informed!

Never been to Bangor so googled best chippie (as you do!) and it came up with Cheryls. Have to say she fully deserves the title! Friendly service, everything cooked fresh, good value and tasted great. No hesitation in highly recommending
